Disney's The Jungle Book
Review by GreatY2E
"This game makes me wanna throw on some red underpants and move to the jungle..."
My dad bought me this game a long time ago. But as he kept buying Genesis games for me constantly I put it aside for a little while. I regret doing that now that I’ve actually gotten a chance to play it. So what to do now? Time to spread the word! By the time you’re done playing this game, you’ll too be doing the Mowgli dance!
Lets start with the controlling of the game. It’s very easy to control because there’s not many options to choose from. Remember, a Genesis only has 3 buttons…pretty easy to get used to.
Graphics? Well, look at it this way; we’re playing Sega Genesis here for a video game based on a cartoon movie. It looks good enough, so no complaining there.
The game basically consists of ten stages, and where do they all take place? In the jungle of course. Its called “The Jungle Book” for a reason. The point of the game is to make it to the end of each stage. Occasionally you’ll encounter some bosses at the end of some of the levels, which are not that tough. The game difficulty pretty much ranges from easy to medium. The hardest part of the game is climbing back up those really large trees whenever you fall off. The weapons you use in the game are pretty interesting ranging from bananas to even coconuts that can be used to take out your enemies.
So Y2E, why don’t you tell us about the replay value?
Sure, I’ll be glad to. This game is just as fun to play weather it’s the first time or the one hundredth. Who can ever get tired of swinging from vine to vine and using bananas as weapons to get rid of monkeys trying to run all over you? You don’t even have to beat the game if you want. Why don’t you go ahead and stay in the same level for three hours straight swinging vines and doing some target practice. You should hear these sound effects while you’re playing the game. I swear you’ll think there’s a monkey in your house or something (but then again, my brother was right next to me, so I don’t know if that experience would be the same for you).
Overall, this game is well worth your money. Right now it wouldn’t even cost as much as it used to, a good 5 bucks will get you it easily, if you can find it. This game makes me want to go out and see this movie again. So excuse me, while I go outside in my newly bought red underpants and try and swing on the rope I attached to my tree.
