Splatterhouse 3

"He's Back...."

I couldn't tell you enough how much better SplatterHouse 3 is out of the series. You must keep in mind that it is rare for a game to get better as more come out for a particular series, not this one. You will notice the improvements and added special goodies from the moment you begin to play. You are in store for a lot in this game, so get ready for the horror ride of your life.

:Gameplay:

Like I said, the gameplay HAS improved. You are in a 3D world of horror. The gameplay is Non-Linear now so you have the benifit of choosing your own path. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, but the good thing is that the choice is yours. Rick can acquire all new and dangerous weapons to hack and slash your way through some pretty tough situations. Some weapons are pretty hard to come by but sometimes going out of your way is a good thing. The game still has that eerie and spooky feel to it. No matter how old you get, this game will never fail to spook you out. Keep in mind that this game has a mature rating. While this game is creepy it won't disappoint SplatterHouse veterans or new comers for that matter. The controls are nothing to complain about but you have to master a few moves and combos for there are many. You will have a good time with this original yet somewhat disturbing game.

:Story:

Your dreams and all memories of the evil terror mask are gone. You have a son now. You have a future. But you can feel it, the time has come, get ready.

:Graphics/Sounds:

You will be turned on by the 16 megs of terror this game has to offer to you. The coolest thing is the digitized graphics which for a Genesis game look quite real. The in-game graphics are magnificent and detailed very well. While some rooms can become quite gory, the level of detail for each room is never the same. The monsters are hideous and well made. The sounds will creep you out and the music is up-beat and sometimes eerie.

:Playtime/Re-playability:

There are numerous levels of the mansion to go through and the game is quite challenging so you might have to park it and take your time with this one. The re-playabilty is high and this game is a must have for all you horror fans out there.

:Final Word:

I would recommend you get this game because you will enjoy this old school thriller. It is spooky as it is fun. Well I hope you enjoyed my review!
