"I wish zombies would eat my little sister..."

I remember the first time I looked at this game. I was like “what the heck?!” Well, looks can indeed be deceiving, because this game is pretty darn good.

The game starts off as two kids begin to realize that, well; zombies have infiltrated their town and are eating their neighbors! I guess it’s time to strap on our toy guns, grab our plates and dishes, your lawnmower, and hell, even all the soda you got in your house and lets kill some zombies!

Game play

It’s a great two-player game. You basically get to choose if you want to be the girl, or the boy. There’s no difficulty in the game, but the game starts off really easy. Notice I said “starts off”, why? Because later on in the game, it gets very difficult.

The game is really long. It has about fifty stages or so, so you’ll have fun playing it for a while. You can use a password to get back to the stage you left off in. You should check out these weapons, it’s hilarious. It starts you off with this toy gun that shoots out lasers. Later in the game you can always use a bazooka, soda cans, plates and dishes, crosses, potions that turn you into a giant monster, and way more.

About the difficulty of the game, it starts off very easy because you need to save a certain amount of neighbors without them being killed by the zombies, which is the point of the game. If they kill a certain amount, or you, then you lose.

The enemies are so weird, it’s shocking. Imagine a baby running at you with an axe screaming out of the top of his lungs. Yeah, I’d be afraid too. They have many different enemies and spread them throughout the game and based on the stage, so it’s all good.

Controlling

It’s hard to do things in this game without making a mistake once. Well, you already know there are 3 buttons on a Sega Genesis controller. You actually have to hold a button and press another just to switch your weapons. It’s annoying because your finger can slip really easily, and bam, the first aid kit you’ve been saving for so long gets used without it really being needed, so you get screwed when it’s time to fight the 50 foot baby from hell. I’m not sure if you’ll have an easier time with the 6 button controller because I’ve never played it under that format, so I really can’t say. But with 3, beware.

Graphics

As every other Sega Genesis games, not that good. It rocks the old school 2-D fashion as all others. Weird how all your neighbors happen to be cheerleaders, babies, scout rangers and an odd couple that looks like tourists.

Replay value

It’s definitely worth playing again. It gets pretty addicting, and it’s not one of those types of games that get you bored whenever you try and play it a second time. Who wouldn’t want to run around zapping up zombies for fun?

Overall

Well, this game is not really needed, but its worth playing. I’d say go ahead if you have a little extra money, but don’t go out of your way for it.
