"Awesome, incredibly fun battling, war game. A must have for Genesis."

Overall Review: 9/10

The individual scores do not affect the final score.

Gameplay: 9/10 - This is a two player game, so if you have an extra buddy to play with, then this game will be a lot of fun, as you can play together or against each other. You can also play alone in the boot camp or in the story mode. This is a fun fighting game for anyone of any age. It's an enjoyable game now and will be for years to come. It has a great battle system, where you select a team of five different attacks and send them out on a battlefield to battle the opposing army. You are General Chaos, the blue army, fighting General Havoc, the red army. There are many different battlefields to play on and many different events occur on each one. Many things are happening, and you control them all!

Difficulty: 7/10 - The difficulty of the game is moderate, as from the looks of the game, it looks like a children game, but it isn't. You must take control of your fighters and strategically place them on the battlefield to attack their opponents, while protecting themselves from enemy attacks. You must also control your usage of medics, because you get a limited amount, and your players can be injured quickly if not protected. This is also difficult because when you run out of medics, it will be hard to get more, and they are a big help in winning tough battles. The computer isn't dumb either. It can play a hard game with you, because it is very quick and can demolish the strongest army with the weakest of attackers. Be careful in the battlefield, and you will succeed!

Controls: 8/10 - Controls are easy to manage as long as you know what you're doing. In one player story mode, you will control 5 men of different types. You will be moving around a cursor on the screen, so you'll know who you'll be moving. You can change the person you're controlling so you can move other people around the field, and simply hold the A button when your men are in place to make them attack. The cursor can also call medic for your wounded men, which is very helpful if you're determined to win the battle. It can also be confusing, as you are looking to see whom you're controlling on the field in the middle of all the action, and you might accidentally send a man into the middle of battle without you knowing.

Sound: 9/10 - The most sounds you will be hearing are the explosions from the grenades and dynamite, the gunfire from the bazookas and uzis, and the fire from the flame-throwers. All sounds are natural and made to be heard as they would in real life. If one person from each army gets too close to each other, they will engage in a hand-to-hand combat. They will fight while everyone remains frozen until this quarrel is over. The sounds of punching and kicking all sound realistic and the yell from the falling fighter is close to real as well. All sounds take place on the battlefield.

Music: 7/10 - There are only three music tracks I've heard in the game, one music track for a Chaos victory, one for a Havoc victory and music for the boot camp. There is no music during the battles. All of the music is very nice, especially the boot camp, because it sounds like music of a real boot camp. The Chaos music sounds like hero music and victory. The Havoc music sounds like defeat and evil like. All of it is very appropriate for the surroundings, but I think there should have been more tracks.

Graphics: 8/10 - The graphics are nice, and the battlefields are nicely detailed with barbed wire, trenches and piled up sandbags. The battlefield areas are also detailed with grasslands, deserts, swamps, forests, and town areas and civilization. The men you control are unique in their appearance, and fit their weapon style very well. The people you kill leave behind their skeletal structure, letting you know they are dead, and appear real. Very nicely done, but some things stand out and could be improved, but you will be busy having fun to notice.

Entertainment: 10/10 - You will enjoy this game since the day you play it, and will continue to play it for a while, and will come back to it. I still play it today, even with all the new and advanced games for the latest systems. It's a fun, exciting and funny game to play. It is recommended for Sega Genesis gamers and all other fans of fighting games.

Buy it or Rent it?

Definitely buy it if you still play Genesis games. It's a lot of fun and will be a great game for anyone. You won't forget such a creative, fun game.
