"All-time classic, always remembered"

When this game came, everyone was like ''What the heck is this?''. This game is completely original. In fact, so original many skeptical doubted of its potential. Although, there were lots of optimistic fans that were expecting this game to be a boom. Which kind of fans were right?

Graphics: 9/10

Awesome graphics. Genesis would hardly have any better. I can't go on describing them, because you know they can't be good... although excellent, including its limits. This game blew up the barrier of that platform's graphical limits and set it up on its own.

Gameplay: 9/10

This game took your classic 2d street fighting to a brand new style of its own. You still have your attack and jump buttons, but now it's inside a cartoon and you'll have to jump from square to square. This wasn't a extraordinary idea, but it sure was fun and cool to play. It was this little factor that has gathered so many fans. The opponents are sometimes very cheap, which can be really frustrating... this is the biggest flaw I have to point to this gameplay.

Story: 10/10

This gameplay has that original and great factor, the story had to deal well with it, and it did. I can't speak any more about that or I'll have to spoil, and this story is too good for that.

Audio: 7/10

Funky musics and sounds, and even though they have bad quality, they're really cool. The only thing we can regret is that we don't hear their written speeches, but if we come to think about it, the fact that it is a cartoon is a valid excuse.

Video: 7/10

Spooky... hehe. Not really amazing artworks, but the story and effects are so cool this has to get a decent rank. You can watch it lots of consecutive times. Anyways, I still have to consider Genesis' limits. Something that is horrible by now could be extremely amazing at the time the game was made. This is not the case, by the way. At that time Genesis had some better videos.

Replayability: 9/10

This game is of a medium durability... you will play this without any stop until you beat the game, then you'll just give it a chance any time... and that won't happen too often. The time it will take you to beat it is enough to give a good rank.

Buy or rent?

Well, if you consider yourself a master in platform games, then rent it until you beat it. If you want to play the game just for the sake of it, but still want to beat it, then you'd better buy it, because this game is quite a challenge.

Yes, a major part of the skeptical people recognized this as a great game. The game overall was a hit, and everyone knows and loves it.
