"It wasn't as bad as people say it is, but it's pretty bad"

Ok were to begin with this. Well, I'll start off with the back story. During the early 1990's Shaquille O'neil or Shaq was becoming very big in the NBA. And Shaq was not afraid to put his name on anything that can make him money. So they decided to make a video using Shaq's popularity to sell it. But you'd expect a basketball player to be in a basketball game, right. Well that's not the case Shaq-Fu. Basically they decided to make a basketball player the star of a fighting game, this has bad idea written all over it. With that, I will move on to the actual review.

Graphics 3/10
Um, these are not that pretty. They are just really not pleasing to the eyes. And considering the graphics that Street Fighter II had which was made before this, I feel these graphics are not even on par with most of the other games on the Genesis.

Gameplay 4/10
Ok the gameplay is not great. It's a lot like any standard fighting game, it's slightly below average but hey if you like an easy fighting game, this could be somewhat fun.

Sound 2/10
Terrible sound, the music is weak, and I guess the most fun that you can forward to is Shaq hitting one of his many monster villains, but hey I don't buy a game for sound.

Controls 8/10
The controls work fairly well, the Genesis always seems to have good working controls, and that probably the best part of the game.

Fun Factor 2/10
It's not that fun, it's just a standard fighting game with characters that are less than likeable, and the fighting system is bellow average quality for a fighting game.

Replay Value 1/10
I beat once and never replayed it, I just went back to Street Fighter and never looked back. Believe me, this is not the type of game that your gonna want to play over and over again.

Anyway, on to the grading... Sound and Control equal 1/5 of the score. So Shaq-Fu earn a 3 for Graphic, 4 for Gameplay, 5 Sound and Controls, 2 for Fun Factor, 1 for Replay Value. Making a total of 15 out of 50, which comes out to be an even 3.

Rent or Buy: Don't buy for more than five dollars, and I doubt you'll find a place where you can rent it. My suggestion is just not play it, unless you collect Shaquille O'neil memorabilia. It's not as bad as people say, the way they make it seem is that if you play this game, you'll die. It's not terrible, it's just less than average.
