"Vectorman is a very fun game"
Genre: 2D Action / Adventure
Story: 7/10
Vectorman has a very simple story. Many many years in the future machines (and robots) are used for many things, one of these robots is called "Vectorman," Vectorman is in charge of flying a space ship filled with trash and wast to the Sun. When he gets there he drops the trash into the sun and heads back home to earth. One day Vectorman is returning home from the sun after dropping off some trash, but when he returns he finds that every robot and machine on earth has gone crazy and the machines and robots have been destroying everything. So now Vectorman, the last "good" robot on earth must now find the source of whats making the machines and robots go crary, and fix the problem once and for all.
Game Play: 9/10
Vectorman has great game play. You of course shoot, jump, and do other neat things. "Vectorman" looks like several big green balls that hover next to each other to form the shape of a person. Vectorman can do many cool things, like transform, or swing from serton pole and trees. The goal of the game is to clear each and every level of the game. The areas vary from the wood lands, to massive citys, and even huge dumps. The levels are all very well put together and have a great feel to them. The enemys are fun to fight and most of them are not anoying, but sadly, there is no saving, so once you run out of continues you must restart the whole game. But even though you can't save, everything else about Vectorman is extremly well done, you shouldn't pass up this game, it's worth buying. If you've never played Vectorman it would be worth while to track this game down. It's worth buying a Sega Genisis just to play.
Graphics: 8/10
Vectorman has very good graphics. Though it's a bit blury the game is detailed. Vectorman (the robot) looks 3D because of the way he moves. When Vectorman walks his feet stick to the ground, making it look like he's walking instead of just sliding like in many other games for the Genisis. Plus when you walk his arms and legs move as if they where actual green balls just hovering in place making the shape of a person. This is not only cool but but gives Vectorman him self (the robot) a 3D look. The areas are also large, and aren't repititive. The background also looks very well done, the whole game has a realistic, yet, cartoon-ish look, like a very well done anime. Vectorman has above average graphics for a Sega Genisis game.
Replay Value: 8/10
Vectorman is a very, very fun game, but sadly the game becomes boring after playing for a few weeks. When your trying to beat the game for the first time you'll have hours and hours of fun, trying to get to the next level is both fun, and rewarding when you actualy do make it to a new level. Since most of the enemys are fun to fight you will not mind it so bad when you lose the game and must restart from the very first level. After you clear the game there isn't much of a reason at all to play again. And it takes a good while for the game to become fun again. But this is still a game you'll pull out every now and then. Vectorman has slightly above average replay value.
Sound: 7/10
Here is where Vectorman lacks. The sound of you shooting is not too well done and does not sound realistic at all. Plus the explosions are kinda weak and fake sounding. The music is ok, but it's nothing you would ever want to go out of your way to listen to. The music is average, and Vectorman's sound effects are nothing special, the sound is just average for a Sega Genisis game. The sound could have used much improvement, however, the sound is the only down side I've found to this great game.
