T2: Terminator 2 Judgment Day
Review by Sephirothdadarkangel
"I'll be bock!!"
Terminator 2: Judgement Day was released in 1991 for the Sega Genesis console. Acclaim put out a game that was very popular in the movies...to bad it was so popular in the game form.
Story 9/10
The story is basically like the movie. I personally like how Acclaim did this because alot of games that come from movies are made that well to follow the story but this...this is a different story. You are the Terminator who has to kill a woman from having a kid. This kid will one day grow up to be the leader of some major human resistance. Your goal...if you choose to accept is to go back in time and kill this woman. Well since this follows the movie the people from the future sent a newer better Terminator from the future to finish the job that the older one could not. The people from the resistance has reprogrammed the older one to help protect the kid (John Conner) from being killed by the newer one.
Gameplay 8/10
This is a side scrolling shot them up game. You play the same levels that they have in the movie getting some pretty cool weapons along the way. Shotguns, pistols and a mini-gun. Along the levels there are a few levels that I personally hate. They are levels when you are in a car driving along and you must kill the people as they are in other cars or in helicopters. This is personally a stupid part of the game IMO.
Graphics/Sound 7/10
Graphics are pretty good for this kind of game. You recognize the people who they are...their expressions if they come up close on the screen. All in all the graphics for this game being so old is fairly good. Sound is a different story though. The only part that I actually liked is the theme song to the movie in the very beginning. Other than that I personally don't like the sound.
Play Time/Replayability 8/10
Some of the levels are hard and others are easy. Personally I think the levels with the cars and stuff are way harder. If you are going to be playing this game I recommend you spending a good portion of your afternoon trying to beat this game. Replayability is pretty nice also. Say you beat this game and you and a friend have nothing to do why not pop this game in and play 2 players?
Final Recommendation
I would rent this game first if you can find it...if not then why not pick it up if it a cheap game I am sure you will like it.
