Beavis and Butt-head
Review by DanieI
"Take an item... leave an item."
In 1993, MTV came up with a show that includes both episodes and music videos, Beavis and Butthead. Yeah, the show does sound a little like something you should avoid due to Butthead, but is actually not a horrible show. Now the game itself includes humor (usually not included in games), Beavis, Butthead, and does have other characters like their teacher; just like in the show. I guess that a game that includes two stupid trouble makers really make this a great game.
How does this game relate to the show?
Well, you obviously know that there is Beavis and Butthead, but this game includes more than just them; and yes, a very large majority of the characters on the game are on the show. There are even the stores like the mall and don't forget Burger World. This game even has the messy house that Beavis and Butthead live in! As you can see, this game has a lot in common with the show; so you will not be disappointed.
Is this game a platformer, an action game? What is it?
This game is not something that you could guess. Its kind of both a platformer and an action game mixed together. Instead of being able to walk left and right; you can walk left, right, up, down, diagonally, and you can even jump. I don't mean a birds eye view game like The Legend Of Zelda. Its sort of 3D like, where you can see the sky. things that are farther away, move slower.
What is the story line for this game?
Beavis and Butthead find tickets to a "GWAR" concert. Next thing you know, a they are both chasing the dog that just took the tickets; but its too late because the dog already ate it. After the dog vomited out the tickets, the neighbor accidentally ran over it with the lawnmower. Now the tickets are spread out all over the town and Beavis and Butthead have to recover them in order to go to the GWAR concert. Not bad, its actually quite clever. I like how Beavis and Butthead are not smart; I mean If this happened to me, I would go buy two new tickets, I wouldn't risk my life recovering pieces from my previous ticket. Yes you do risk your life in this game. You don't just pick up the parts of the tickets off the ground; you do a lot of insane things like walk in a sewer full of acid, cut down a tree, not to mention fishing out your window! There are a lot more insane things you do just to get a part of a ticket. If this was one of those one to ten scale, I would give the story line a nine out of ten though because how did the tickets get spread out in the first place? It does not say.
Is there items in this game?
Yes there is. That is one of the reasons why the game is so hard. There some items that are not important like a donut and pants, you can pawn those at the mall, but other items like a bomb ,cat, a fishing pole where you have to figure out what to do on your own. The only information you get is off the back of the box. The box shows a picture of Butthead fishing out the window, that covers the fishing pole but what about everything else? Some of the items are small and hard to see so you might miss it. There are also weapons other than farting and burping; there are spit balls, toy guns, a bat and a few others. Some of the weapons are fun to use.
Are the graphics just as good as it would be on the show?
Very close. Beavis and Butthead both look exactly like they do on the show. Everything looks cartoon like, just like there supposed to look. Places like Burger World and the Hospital have good detail. However, the items... not so good. Some of the items are so small, you can barely see some of them. When you cant see them, you usually end up passing the items. I will give the graphics a nine out of ten.
How is the music? Is it good?
A lot of the music is great. Most of the songs in this game are a tiny bit shorter but for some reason is still catchy. This game even has the theme song! Most of the levels each have a different song, not the same song for every one. Don't worry, the bathroom and Beavis and Buttheads house are the only two places with no song. I will give the music a ten out of ten.
How are the sound affects?
Some of the sound affects like Beavis and Butthead talking sound extremely close to clear. Then there are the others like the sound affect for farting sounds unclear and some other sounds like the lawn mower and the chain saw sound the exact same. The sound of Beavis and Butthead feeling pain sounds clear, no harm done there. I will give the sound an eight out of ten.
How long will it take for me to finally finish this game?
It will take a lot of patience and a lot of work to beat this game. Due to all of the items and all of the times you die, it will take you weeks to beat this game; I don't have an exact time because people are different but I will tell you, it will take you a few weeks to beat this game. Probably more.
Will I ever play this game again?
After you beat this game, you probably won't play it for quite a while due to frustration but I know someday you will go back to this game.
should I buy or rent Beavis and butthead?
I wouldn't rent because it will take you a long time to figure out things and by the time you do, you will have to take the game back. Yes you should buy it. There is nothing much wrong this game, you only live once and you might as well be entertained in your life.
