"Only buy this game if you want to run something over with an Explorer"

Boxing… uh-oh. This game disgraces the great Intellivision of the 70s. The system had plenty of games that were pretty cool. Boxing, on the other hand, wasn’t one of them. I have no recollection of any good points in this game except for the OK graphics for Intellivision standards. Other than that, this game had no good gameplay, control, sound (non-existent), and a total lack of fun, how can you not go wrong with this game? I would not recommend this game (or at least people think it is a game) to anyone.

Gameplay: 1/10
I’m having trouble finding the fun part in this game… is it the ability to pour gasoline all over it and torch it? Maybe it is the fact that you can borrow your friend’s Excursion and flatten the game. This game is the worst boxing game ever made (next to that one Mike Tyson game for the Playstation 2.

Graphics: 7/10
That’s right children, Boxing does have pretty decent graphics. It is an Intellivision game for crying out loud! Even though it is quite possibly the only overhead boxing game I have ever played, and features some dull graphic effects, Boxing is not the worst-looking of the games.

Sound: N/A
Don’t expect anymore from an Intellivision than bleep and bloop.

Control: 2/10
The controls may be simple due to a simple control, but all you are able to do is move your guy around and press a button. It is simple, but you can’t really move your fighter to where you want to move him. Catch my drift?

Challenge: 1/10
It is only a challenge if you are facing a friend of yours. Other than that, it is just a battle of weather or not you can press the punch button fast enough.

Replay Value: 1/10
This game features no replay value at all. You will only play a couple of times before you become bored with this game.

Boxing is officially the worst boxing game that I have ever played in my life and certainly is a good candidate for the award for worst game ever. This game has no good controls, sound (if any), no replay value, and has an absence of good gameplay. I don’t know why anyone would want to buy this game unless they have an appetite for destruction. If you are a boxing fanatic and absolutely must get your fix on retro boxing games, get something like Punch Out, but not Boxing!
