Review by Go Yankees

"Sucks? I don't think! Well maybe the graphics do."

Space Armada, in my opinion, a classic shooting game for Intellivision. When I was younger my dad had this system and I ALWAYS played this game on it until he sadly gave the system away. I was angry till I got my SNES though, but I remember this game vividly.

GAME PLAY: 7/10
In this game you are a ship that can move back and forth to shoot aliens that will try and attack you. This is similar to Galaga, but a little easier. The ships really only move down and you need to shoot them before they land or kill off all your lives, which is pretty easy. The gamers also put in some shields to help you if you need it but it can be destroyed. This game would have had a higher score if the developers threw some more things into the game, like shooting with more than one ship.

STORY: N/A
I really can't say about the story. There basically isn't one. If there had to be one, I would say it would be that you need to stop the aliens from killing you and save your planet from them because the second one of them lands it is game over.

GRAPHICS: 6/10
What can I say? The graphics for this game were pretty good at the time, but not by today's standard. The ship that shoots lasers is kind of clear and blue, but could have been better. The blockade or shields that protect you are a whitish color and the aliens are multicolored, ranging from green to yellow, etc. They also look like insects, which is similar to most games like this. These were probably amazing at the time, but you have to admit they are better then some Atari 2600 graphics

SOUND: N/A

I mean there really isn't any music. It basically only happens when you shoot, die, the aliens move down, or you kill an alien.

Controls-- 9/10
What can I say about the controls? They are pretty simple. You move the knob and press the button to shoot. They were pretty simple for anyone to use. I just wish there was a rapid fire button so you could shoot laser beams or bullets, or what ever you want to call them from your ship faster to hit more guys.

Re-playability 8/10

There really isn't any. you can keep playing it to beat your high score if you want.

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed this game and found it to be very fun. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys Intellivsion games. Over all this game gets a 7/10
