"Crappy? Dull? MK rip off??? NO WAY! This game rules!!!!"

I was astonished to see so many negative reviews for this game. Its not that great of a game, but its pretty damn good. Sure its a gory fighting game, but its definitely not a mortal kombat rip off. Heavy metal music, satanic demons, hell, skulls, fire, and ruthless killing!!!! Thats what this game is all about.

Story: Don't quite remember the story, but every character had a pretty good story. Nothing lame or cheesy.

Graphics: The graphics were fairly good for their time. The sprites all look nice, a little choppy, but still good. The demon characters looked especially good and the apocalyptic back grounds looked great. In fact, I would say MK3 took a few ques from this game.....Such as the spinning wheel stage fatality and the subway and street stages. The gore was great too. The fact that it stayed on the ground was AWESOME!! It was the first time I had ever seen anything like that in a video game before. The finishing moves were cool and all of the characters were pretty unique. The finishers were gory, and if you wanted to, you could turn your foe into poop instead of killing them! What fun!! And I loved the whole satanic vibe of the game. It was very dark, and used lots of demons and goat demons, and even hell itself.

Sound: The sound was alright. The characters all had unique sounds, But where this truly shined was the music. Im not a heavy metal fan, but I loved the heavy metal of this game. It totally fit with the whole vibe of the game. And it was catchy too, and original. Even the hit noise was unique.

Gameplay: The gameplay is again average. A little choppy, but responsive and it gets the job done. The special moves and finishing moves were a bit hard to pull off though, but then again, I had a hard time doing anything with that jaguar controller. It did have some cool aspects, and lots of different modes to choose from. Definitely something unique for a game at its time.

I think a 7 is a good score, and this was a good game. Its not for everyone though, you have to appreciate fighting games, heavy metal, demons, and appreciate this game for what it was. As far as jaguar games go, this was definitely one of the better titles available for the system, and definitely the best fighter for the system. So if you own a Jag, and love fighting games, then you should invest in a copy of this game in the future!!! :-D
