AUTHOR'S NOTE REGARDING EMAIL- Please don't email me unless it is
regarding legal information of this FAQ or an emergency in which you are
completely stuck. This FAQ covers pretty much everything in Harvest moon
64. Other sources where your questions can be answered include the
message boards in GameFAQs.com and GameSages.com. Please, I used to be
very excited about answering questions but my mailbox nearly explodes
every day with email and I do not have the time to answer back
questions. However, you can be one hundred percent sure that I read
every word my readers send me. When I read the letters I usually find
questions that have already been answered in my FAQ and I end up
deleting the letter. Thank you for your time and enjoy my FAQ.

AUTHOR'S NOTE REGARDING PRINTING- Be careful if you are planning on
printing this FAQ. It's a lot of paper and you might run out quickly.
Please be careful. If your printer is running out of paper and there's
still a more script to print, make sure that you put more paper in the
printer while it is operating if possible. Otherwise bookmark this FAQ
and enjoy it online. No need to kill the ink cartilage.

                       -o-INTRODUCTION-o-

Alright, this is the very first FAQ that I will write so don't be
surprised if my spelling is simply horrible. I will try to make it as
detailed as possible so you won't bomb me with e-mails like it happens
with other FAQ writers. The reasons for having me choose to write my
first FAQ on Harvest Moon 64 (If anybody cares at all) are pretty
unusual. I used to play a game with LEGO figures that was very similar
to Harvest Moon. Once I knew there was an actual video game on the
subject I couldn't wait to get it. But I got shocked when I knew it
would only be for Super Nintendo (SNES); I only had a regular Nintendo
at that time (NES). By the time a got my Super Nintendo I was very
disappointed since the game wasn't in stores anymore and I couldn't
afford a Game Boy to play the version for that system. I finally got my
N64 as a birthday present. All I had to do was to wait for Harvest Moon
64. I got HM64 for Christmas, only three days after the game had been
released.

I really enjoy this game a lot (It reminds me of the first time I played
Super Mario RPG, which was the first RPG I played in my life). It does
have some weak points like every game out there. I wouldn't really call
this game a masterpiece since it is only a simple farming game made by a
company dedicated to making many fishing games... Anyway, the point is
that I love simple games like Harvest Moon 64. But the Final Fantasy
series have to be my favorite games of all time. Especially FFV and
FFVII.

As I said before, I am a new writer at GameFAQ's, which really isn't a
surprise anymore for many people. I do have a busy daily schedule so I
can not stay until two or three in the morning writing this FAQ like
somebody I know (Read the GameFAQ's front page and take a guess). If
this FAQ ever gets published, you can count on me writing again because
I know it will be worth the effort. If any GameFAQ writers are reading
this, please send me any recommendations for my FAQ. I will write more
than what you need to know in this FAQ so that you can get to understand
some deep concepts of the game.

I ended up writing FAQs because of a reason most FAQ writers might know,
It's Fun! I would always look at search engines looking for help on one
of my games (It takes hours sometimes to get a half-decent page of
information). But most of the pages where just a bunch of reviews for
the games (I could name I few but it would be immoral to do so).
Sometimes I would find a page that had a lot of helpful information on
it but it would take ours to download especially if it had a lot of
JavaScript (whatever it's called). I ended up with GameFAQ's after a
while. Quick search, the best help, the best reviews, the fastest to
load, the easiest to join, and the one page that has never failed to
give me what I'm looking for. The only drawbacks in this site are the
negative comments on the message boards. Some of these should be deleted
as a personal opinion.

I would like to give special thanks to a few FAQ writers like
marshmallow and Dallas for inspiring me on writing my first FAQ. Sorry
to make a real big deal out of this but I can't help it. I can't believe
that finally a page as appeared in which everyone can participate in the
easiest way there is. Thanks to everybody for your help. I'm expecting
more of it (Hey I read the paragraph above and I can't believe I could
write stuff that mushy! Kind of disturbing actually). Anyway, on with
the FAQ.

MASTER FINAL VERSION NOTE-

I haven't been on GameFAQs for a while because one solid reason called
EverQuest. I have been so addicted to that game that the time I used to
spend writing my FAQs is now dedicated to that game. I heard it was very
addictive and I didn't quite believe it. I mean, once I beat the game it
would be over... NOT! That game never ends! Once I reach level 60 the
real fun begins! Then I start over and the adventure begins once again.

Well, hope that clears it up. Right now I am thinking of writing FAQs
again but that can change once I am logged on to EverQuest again. For
those of you that enjoy my writing, keep your fingers crossed.

By the way, for those of you who are wondering, here are my characters
from EQ.

Sephal- Level 42 Enchanter in Vallon Zek (No longer used, got boring)
Arazian- Level 38 Paladin in Xev (Currently played)

                     -o-AUTHOR'S COMMENTS-o-

Well, this is just a section were I will write down a few thoughts that
come to my mind.

I added a new section called "How to make the annoying fun." It is a
section that I have been looking for in many FAQs but I never seem to
find it! I believe that many players make their own games within the
game. Games such as "How fast can you get from Midgar all the way to
Costa del Sol" in FFVII. I come up with these games all the time and I
love them. Harvest Moon was no exception to this. If anybody can come up
with a contest like this one, feel free to e-mail it to me.

Good lord! I just sent the update for this FAQ and I forgot to proofread
my work. I just read this FAQ and I can't believe the incredible amount
of grammatical errors in it. I just fixed most of them but I will not
send two updates in one day (sorry, that would not look right). If
anybody finds silly mistakes in this FAQ, please e-mail me. I don't want
my first FAQ to be the worst. Thanks!

I started working on my walkthrough but I still don't like the idea of
it. I will make a full walkthrough for the game but I still think that
it is a very pointless thing to do. I mean come on! Harvest Moon 64 can
be beaten in a million different ways. Why would somebody want to finish
it the same way I did? Well, I still started it. I can only hope for
some people to realize why I feel uncomfortable writing it.

I love this FAQ! I enjoy writing everything on it. I only think that
it's wrong to write a walkthrough for it but I still enjoy writing it! I
will update this FAQ on Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays. I have a lot
of things to do on the other days. Check this FAQ every weekend and be
amazed at how big it will grow!

I'm sick today, so am not in school for this reason. I updated my FAQ
and I still can't believe the amount of grammar mistakes it has. I
really want this FAQ to be the best one there is for this game but it's
a big challenge. Please keep sending letters that point out grammatical
errors so that I can fix them and make this FAQ even better.

Has anybody taken a look at the recipes? Man! How do people come up with
these things? Has anybody ever heard of potato pancakes? Well, just a
comment I wanted to share. I could list a few more but I think it would
be better if you looked at them yourself.

Believe it or not this FAQ is a great responsibility. But when is it
going to end? I am afraid I do not know the answer to this question but
I will update this FAQ until my walkthrough is done. I am still on the
first year but I am hopping to finish it by tomorrow.

I have a lot of work to do on this FAQ. Here's my plan just in case you
are wondering what to expect from me.

-Finish my Walkthrough all the way to the third spring.
-Add more the "The Land" section.
-Add more to the "How to make the annoying fun" section.
-Make more sections that are different and that you don't find anywhere
else! I enjoy writing those and I am sure many enjoy reading them.
-I want this to be the best FAQ on Harvest Moon there is. I will be
adding tons of hints and tips once I finish the walkthrough. The
"Secrets" will have a lot added into it. I am still looking for a few
recipes (I found all of the ones in the list by myself) but I think I
will get them soon. I am also looking for the pictures I'm missing.

By the way, somebody mentioned that potato pancakes do exist! Well,
could anybody tell me what "miso" is? It's written on some recipes and I
have no idea what is.

Wow! I just noticed that people actually read these comments! I would
like to thank everyone for supporting me so much. This FAQ is a success
thanks to those people. My FAQ is now over twice the size of the first
version. I am hopping to triple it soon with useful information. By the
way, Charlene Cosman told me that "miso" is a sweet been paste. Well,
what do you think of "Eggplant and Miso Paste?" I hate eggplants.

Well, thanks to everyone! Big update this Saturday!

At no point will I ever try to offend anybody when I am writing this
FAQ. Ever since this FAQ has grown so much I've been getting at least
thirty letters every day. I am a very busy man and I am afraid I cannot
answer all of your letters. I will post any questions that I get under
the "Questions" section. I said that I didn't mean to offend anybody
because I've been getting a lot of letters telling me to erase my
comments on the "Potato Pancakes". Apparently many found those comments
offensive, I apologize.

Come on people! Every time I open this FAQ to update it I end up finding
tons of silly mistakes. I get letters that correct the information but I
haven't gotten that many letter that mention grammar or any other
mistakes. Do you all not notice those mistakes or is everyone too lazy
to write me a letter telling me to fix them. By the way, I would also
like to know what everybody thinks of having me update this FAQ 3+ times
a week?

I would like to thank everybody who has contributed to my FAQ so much. I
really spent a lot of time and it took effort to write this FAQ. This
FAQ is now one of the best thanks to your support. And by the way, I
just had some mushroom salsa. It tasted great!

I woke up on the left side of the bed this morning so I didn't feel much
like updating. But o well, I'm almost done with my walkthrough so I
decided to add a few days. Why do people feel like this sometimes? Well
I have noticed that the designers of Harvest Moon 64 might have
considered adding something like this. Your baby and the people can
suddenly just have that "leave me alone" feeling. I've seen this happen
in my game many times. Sometimes my chickens don't lay eggs even when I
feed them.

Good day everyone! Here's another decent update! Well, I just want you
all to check out the new "Mysteries" section! It's incredibly fun to sit
down and think of these kinds of sections for your FAQ! Thanks a lot to
John B. for the idea! I hope some of you readers find it useful!

Every time I check my mail I get a question which I don't know the
answer to. Why? No, really, I am in my sixteenth autumn and I thought I
had it all. That is one more reason to love this game. You never know
what will happen and you can't get it all the first time. I just covered
my fields with grass last summer and a couple that are not in my
characters list came by to take a look at them. They started getting
romantic and eventually they kissed. I had no idea that this happened. I
still believe that not everything has been uncovered in the game yet.

Yep, this FAQ is done. In fact, it's been done since my last update.
From now on this FAQ will not be updated so often like it normally was.
Why? Well, there's other games out there that really need a FAQ. Now I
will only update this FAQ whenever I get enough mails with questions,
answers, suggestions, and any other kind of contributions. Oh yea, now
that this FAQ is done, it's time to look back at it and check for any
mistakes. Any emails that I get pointing out me mistakes will be
perfect.

PLEASE read the questions section. I know many people are going to be
mad about this ridiculous update but I have my reasons.

Hey, I got an awesome letter from a reader. I am too lazy to rewrite it
in my own words so I will only copy it and paste it (I'll fix the
grammar too). Here it is:

I was just running my horse (he likes it when I make him run... get it?
Get it!? ...sorry) and I see the little dialogue box pop up... my wife
wanted us to go somewhere, and still riding my horse, I talked to her
and we left for whatever reason ...Bamboo Float or something like that.
Anyhow, I get the "This was a good day etc." message after that and when
I wake up and eat, my horse was by my bed. I could get on him and run
around, but I couldn't exit with him. When I dismounted, he vanished
from under me. He wouldn't come when I called outside, and here's the
kicker: When I whistle for him inside the house, I hear his voice... but
he's nowhere to be seen. G'huh?!

There haven't been any horse races lately... but when it happens, we'll
see what happens, eh?

--- Tybalt

I loved this letter because it is actually long! I mean, people send me
emails like this all the time:

Hi, cool FAQ, where do I buy animals?

Do you know what I do with those mails? They are gone in a blink, I
forget about them. Thanks a lot Tybalt, I hope you find more glitches
like this one. And please make sure that you send them to me! If I get
enough I will make a section on them.

Now here's another email that I got, this one's even better!

Sorry about the subject thing... This has little to do with your FAQ,
hope you don't mind... But it was pretty good, I'll say that. I
couldn't make one. How often to you play that game?! I've been farther
than my friend has. He's been to the second year I believe... And I've
been to the third. Anyway, I wanted to ask you, am I an idiot for not
getting the green house in the first year? I mean I could... but you
can't be everyone's friend and be rich at the same time. Well we can't
anyway. If you mixed us we would be the perfect player but oh well...
I'm good with the ladies... I married Ann first but I was originally
going for Karen. But Karen left the mean guy before I could. In my
second game, the one I'm in now, and I can get Karen because I like gave
her everything I had. Now I work on the other ladies to get some
birthday gifts. ^_^ My friend works on crops and crops only. He
OCCASIONALLY goes and sees the lady he picked to eventually marry, and
he had better hurry, its Popuri and he's almost in the second year.
Anyway, he gets the green house first and that's all. So by the end of
the first year he has the green house and money. By the end of MY first
year I have at least 4 cows, 6 chickens, kitchen, and bathroom, along
with at least 8 planted grass bags. And enough flowers for about 100
funerals. Who is the *sorry I can't write that, it's not that bad but I
won't have it in my FAQs* here? Me or the person calling me an *same
here*? Your opinion please. NOW I know that you probably get it all in
the first year but... SO SUE US. We don't play all the time. He's
usually playing something else and I usually... well I don't come to his
house everyday.... (he owns the game, not me) I don't even have a 64.
And that cow thing, COWS ROCK you don't hit them with things!! Even if
you are tired of them!!! That's just wrong. Your comments were sort of
funny though, using humor as much as you can gets you popular fast.
Believe me. And your 'art' is pretty cool. The trees and all, with the
house... Anyway, I'm bored and I can't write forever.. so...
THANKSSSSS!
S AND BYE.

I read this mail five times! I LOVE it! Thanks for everything
NiraSilverDragon. Now everybody has an idea of what I like to see in my
mailbox.

Here's another great glitch from my buddy: Tybalt! (With the grammar
corrected of course!)

Hi. Glad to see my letters make a difference. I found another glitch,
too, but I'm not really all too sure about this one. It's sort of weird.
I guess you could call it, "The Phantom Bluemist" or something. To pull
this off, I had already done the Bluemist deal with the butterflies and
so forth, and the next year, the Bluemist was back on the shelves. I
picked it up, and then decided against doing it again. A little while
later, I went down to the Goddess's Fountain and Popuri was there. She
started talking to me as if the Bluemist was there. "I hope the
butterflies come, etc." Of course, I hadn't planted it, so she was
looking reverently at nothing at all. I'm not sure what caused this or
even if it's repeatable, but it sure was interesting.

Great! Now how about I share a comment with all of you? Hehehe, I've
gotten at least ten letters that tell me to take off the part where I
suggest hitting the cows with the sickle! Well, it's staying there!

And here's yet ANOTHER great glitch by Tybalt, I haven't tested it but
it's worth mentioning. I will fix the grammar in the email he sent me
but I will change nothing else.

I call it, "Bakery Cutscene Spinning Baby Anti-Aging Vanishing/Warping
Bakery Master" Take a little time to absorb all that. No matter how I
rearange it, it pretty much tells me what I'm getting...

Ok, for this trick, I'll need to have married Popuri (that's how I did
it) and be in my second winter, or at whatever time you can get the
cutscene to take place. I brought my 2nd phase kid (crawling, but not
much else) in there, and the Elli/Popuri/Baker discourse about eating a
lot and not plumping up commences. So, when it's through, I walk up to
everyone, child in arms, and they say stuff like "Hello" and so forth...
I put the baby down and ... he reverts to 1st stage (like when you first
have him) and starts "spinning" (kinda like he's turning a bunch of
times) and the Bakery Master vanishes. When I pick up the baby, he turns
back to normal in my arms and the Bakery Master (whose body is nowhere
in sight) says "Welcome!". But it gets better. On the spot where I put
down the kid, I warped the now-invisible Bakery Master to that spot. I
couldn't walk through him or anything, but I could talk to him. So,
whenever I put down the child, the invisible Bakery Master would warp
there. With this, I learned that the mystery door behind the counter is
a fake (you can't open it) and that the programmers really left a few
screws loose. Hard to follow? I bet. When I left and came back,
everything returned to normal... terrifying!

Now, if you want to cheer me up, I suggest you write something like
this:

I was flipping through your Harvest Moon FAQ and OH MY GOD I came on for
5 minutes and stayed on for 3 hours reading your whole FAQ...TWICE. I
had read a few before, but yours was without a doubt the best. Thanx for
listening to me.

From,
Luke72w

See? I don't want people to write this all the time but these letters
really put a smile in my face!

I just want to make a final comment here. I just want to say that It
finally happened, I am tired of this FAQ. I get so many emails a day on
this FAQ it's not even funny. I can't answer them all I've explained
that hundred of times. I will only answer letters if they involve the
"Legal Stuff" section and that's it. I will answer your questions in
this FAQ only and I will ignore your contributions/questions if they are
already in my FAQ. I wouldn't do this unless I was really sick of having
new mail every thirty minutes. JOEC will answer your questions from now
on if you have any. But PLEASE read the FAQ before asking any questions!

Sorry if I sounded mean in that last paragraph but I came home after
spending a weekend in Houston and I had 312 emails on HM64! I didn't
know where to start!

If you want to know what I feel like, I DARE you to write a FAQ on the
new game that's coming out called Zelda: Majora's Mask and you will be
in the same situation I am!

Here's some neat information that I got from someone.

As many readers have noticed, Harvest Moon 64 tends to crash a lot.
Here's a few reasons for this happening and how to prevent your game
from crashing. First of all, if there's been a lot of graphic load for
the past three or four days, don't stress the console's graphics by
chopping wood, fishing, etc. The game also freezes a lot when you
attempt to watch the educational program so be careful. Also, if you
have a lot of animals in the barn you must expect many problems. The
game might slow down and/or freeze. Don't run around during festivals so
much, especially during the cow festival because the game will stop.

Final Comment (#22)- 16/4/01

Well, this is it. For those of you who thought I was gone, I hope you
are happy to see that I am still around. Now, in this last update I hope
to fix all the silly mistakes I have made in this FAQ.

For all my readers that wonder what's going on, read the bottom part of
the introduction for details.

As this FAQ comes to an end, I would like to thank all my readers for
your support. To be honest I received very few negative comments on this
FAQ. The respect I've received and the reputation this FAQ has given me
is always in my head. However, I need to go in deeper; write more FAQs
to be recognized by many more. Thanks again to everyone for helping my
first FAQ become a great success.

Now, about me writing other FAQs; at the moment I have no plans to write
another FAQ. But now that I think about it I am kind of getting the need
to write another one. Any suggestions for FAQs that you would like me to
write are always welcome. In fact, I will take those suggestions
seriously. Now, if you want some reference as if to what I like and
dislike in games before you even submit your suggestions then here they
are:

I like-

RPGs such as Star Ocean, Baldur's Gate, Final Fantasy, Xenogears, etc.
The thing is I can't get around to writing one of these because they are
insanely hard to write (and long!).

I also like Action games such as Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, etc.

Misc. games such as Pilotwings and Blast Corps are OK in my list.

I LOVE puzzle games. My favorite one is Lemmings 3D.

I dislike-

Wrapping it up that would include Racing Games (yuk), shooting games
(bah), sports games (yuk), and fighting games (Blaaaarrrrg!!! Yuk yuk
yuk yuk! Coff coff... * V O M I T *). There ya go!

                           -o-THE GAME-o-

Harvest Moon 64 is a sequel to many incredible games. This is the first
time that it has ever been shown in a 3D platform. The game itself is an
RPG, which includes a very general and quick learning section. There are
four files that have been called "Diaries" in which players can save
their game. Players get to choose how to name almost every living animal
in the farm at the beginning of the game or when a new animal is
obtained. There is no violence at all in this game. A few exceptions
I've found include hitting your animals with your tools by accident but
it makes the game more realistic. Another drawback might be that you
have to play a male character and you can only marry girls. This might
be something that female players might not accept. The players as to
grow a farm in any way he/she chooses to do so. Planting many types of
crops, foraging, raising animals, and helping out at the village are a
few of the many possible ways to make money and grow a better farm. So
far this game has brought nothing to me but education, and the basic
picture of what farming is like. The days in the game are much shorter
than in real life but the length of one day might depend on the amount
of time spent indoors since time doesn't go by there. Harvest Moon 64 is
a classic that cannot be missed!

                 -o-REQUIREMENTS TO ENJOY THE GAME-o-

These are few things that are required to enjoy this game.

-	Basic reading skills and speed-reading at some points.
-	Comprehension of money usage in both small and large amounts.
-	A lot of patience.
-	Minimum organization and responsibility skills.
-	A Nintendo 64 and one controller.

                         -o-GETTING STARTED-o-

The adventure begins! Turn on your N64 and take a few moments to watch
the game's story. Once it is over, press the Start button when the main
menu appears. As the dog runs to the left, take a look at the new menu
and choose to start a new game. You can also check out the "How to Play"
section. Once you've started the game, select any diary and follow the
simple instructions. Enter your name, your animals' name, your ranch's
name etc. Now get started on your farm.

Well, here's my FAQ. I hope some people find it useful.

                           -o-THE STORY-o-

The town-square looks unusual. A few people are standing over brown
carpets and the pink autumn leaves are falling. There is a young man
listening to people's conversation. "It all happened so fast," says one
of the carpenters. "The young man looks interested in the comments
people make and steps forward to try to hear a little more on the
subject. "Yes… so his farm, will no longer…" are some of the words the
kid listens to. The little man is feeling sad by listening to those
comments so he goes to the other group to see if their reaction is a
little more positive, he grows happy when he hears a few words from the
midwife: "O come on! This should be a joyful sending off". The kid's
happiness grows larger when he notices that everybody in the group seems
to look at things from the midwife's point of view.

As the boy looks at the corner, he notices that the major is crying and
tells him to be happy and to let it go. As he walks away, his spirit
appears to send him a message.

Later on the farm, a beautiful evening is almost ruined when the fields
of the farm come to sight. A man with a brown suit walks by and talks to
the boy. "Sorry I'm late, is grandpa already…?". The kid nods his head
and looks at the stable; it seems that he has just made a major decision
in his life.

Once everybody agrees that the kid is old enough to work at the farm, a
waste of time is not an option.

                        -o-THE CHARACTERS-o-

Jack - This is the main character in this game meaning that it is also
the one that you move around everywhere. Not that much to explain. When
his grandfather gets too old to work on the farm, he asks his dad if he
could take care of the farm. Jack has a dog to start with and some very
useful items like the hoe or the axe. I believe that he is fourteen
years old in the game by the time you begin. You can name him anything
else you want but the original name that was given to him is Jack.

Ann - Ann is the daughter of the Green Ranch owner. She likes the sun
and any kind of animal in the game, especially if they are tiny and
cute. She has her birthday sometime in the summer. She is very nice to
you at the beginning of the game and doesn't seem to have any kind of
problem. Sometimes she gets hurt and she will get mad at you if you try
to help her. Her brother is the only character that doesn't like you at
all in the game. She is also a choice for you to marry.

Karen - Karen is the daughter of the vineyard owner. Her grandmother
used to make wine too. She has problems with his father later on the
game since he won't stop drinking and he will stop working on the
vineyard. Her birthday is somewhere around winter. She dislikes being in
the rain. She loves berries, which can be found in spring and fall. She
will be sort of rude at the beginning of the game but she will become a
nice person once you bring her a few gifts. She can be found almost
anywhere but the most common places where she goes include the tavern at
night, her house during daytime, and the mountains. If you still can't
find her, check the beach or the church. She is another choice for you
to marry.

Maria - This girl could be considered a "nerd" since she loves to study
and hang around in the library. She is the mayor's daughter and she is
afraid of animals. She can be found in the mountains sometimes but she
will be at the library most of the time. She likes to play the organ at
church. I am not sure of what exactly does she like but try just about
anything will to make her happy, but you might want to try giving her
some cabbage. She loves any kind of bug you can think of. Another choice
to marry.

Popuri - Popuri is the daughter of the shop owners. Her father likes to
travel a lot looking for rare seed all over the world. She likes flowers
so have a lot of flowers outside if you are trying to marry her. Make
sure you have a lot of flowers in your yard when she visits you; she
will be happy when you do so. She can be found outside of her house on
sunny days and sometimes at the mountains. She stays inside her house
during rainy days. Another girl you can marry.

Elli - Elli is a girl who likes it when you buy something from her. So
buy stuff at the bakery. Bring her eggs and cakes to make her happy. She
will be especially happy when you order from the menu. She is kind of
hard to impress because the gifts she likes are expensive except for
eggs. A choice to marry and the best wife there in the since she helps a
lot on housework. She is found at the bakery and at the mountains.

Rick - Rick is a very important character in the game since he (is it a
she?) sells very useful items in the game including the blue feather
which will get you to marry someone. His shop will be closed on
Wednesdays, weekends, and festival days so if you really need to buy an
item make sure you put a reminder on your calendar. Don't even bother
going into his shop with a few coins since you will get nothing. It is a
very expensive shop, have you been saving some money?

Harris - Harris is the town's mailman, he will send letters to
everybody in town. I think that he likes Maria and will eventually marry
her later on the game. Rain won't stop him from sending mail and he will
even work on snowing days. He likes to participate in some festivals
including the swimming race and the egg hunt.

Cliff - Cliff is a new face in town. He lives in the mountains and
hunts whenever he gets hungry. He will find a job whenever he needs
money. Make sure you save some food in your backpack since he will show
up in your house one day begging for food. Who know how many surprises
this guy can bring. He seems to have some feeling for Ann too.

Priest - The priest works at the church. He is dedicated to educating
children and taking care of them from Monday trough Friday. He will be
the one to unite you and your girlfriend after you've used a blue
feather on her. He will also be the one to say a few words at the
graveyard whenever one of your animals dies.

Mayor - The mayor is basically a minor character in the game. He will
show you the town at the beginning of the game if you ask him to do so.
He can be found walking around town any day or at his house. He will
also assist to every festival trough out the year. If you ask me, he
sure looks like a drunk.
He also has a daughter called Maria.

The Baker - The baker works with Elli at the bakery. He is quite a nice
guy and he can be found at the tavern sometimes. If you are trying to
marry Elli, make sure you become good friends with him. Feel free to ask
him any questions about the bakery and how it works.

Elli's Grandmother - She is the oldest character in the game. She says
that she remembers when you where just a little baby. She is found on a
rocking chair on the right side of the bakery every day except on rainy
days. She will die at some point in the story, which is probably the
saddest moment in the entire game.

Ann's Father - This guy is pretty nice to you in the game. He is the
owner of the green ranch although he only sells the animals and doesn't
take care of them. He will give you helpful hints on raising animals and
how to keep them healthy. He is found at the ranch at all times and
sometimes at the tavern late at night.

Gray - The worst character in the game. Nobody hates you more than he
does. He talks to you in a very bad way all the time and tells you to
leave him alone. He does like it when one of your animals enters a
contest and he also likes it when you give him berries. A few gifts will
change his attitude towards you. He is also Ann's brother.

Karen's Father - He doesn't respect her daughter's feelings. This means
is a total disaster since he doesn't care if he fails to keep the
vineyard working. He will also get drunk at the tavern sometimes. He can
be found at the vineyard, inside his house, and at the tavern.

Karen's Mother - This lady cries a lot because her life is a mess
thanks to Karen's father. She will always tell you to try your best and
to keep up the good work at the farm. She will leave and never return if
you don't marry Karen fast. She will always be at her house even on
festival days and will prevent you from going upstairs unless Karen is
sick.

Mayor's Wife - Not much to talk about. She can be found at her house
almost everyday. She seems to play a major part on festivals. She will
also prevent you from entering Maria's room at the mayor's house.

Old Man (Saibarra) - I am not sure of his name but he owns a shop to the
right of Rick's. The only Item you can buy from him (or at least it
looks like the only one) is the ocarina. He can also be found at the
mountains by the hot springs. He isn't mean or anything like that, he is
just old and wishes to be left alone. You could learn a thing or two
from this guy in the game.

Potion Shop Owner - Again, I am not sure of his name but he will sell
you three kinds of potions in the game. Make sure you give him herbs and
other items found in the mountains, you could get good stuff in return.
He can be found at the mountains or in his shop. He also likes to make
the kids work.

Lillia - She is Pupuri's mother, I had a hard time remembering her
name, I've been playing this game over and over looking for secrets so I
forget people's names. Anyway, she is the owner of the flower shop.
Visit her on every season to collect different seeds. She will always be
on her shop except on festival days. Make friend with her if you are
going for Popuri.

Basil - This man comes and goes. He leaves every year and returns later
in the game. He will be around the flower shop. He will bring rare seeds
sometimes for you to buy. He will let you know when he will be leaving
and also the day he comes back. There is nothing really important or
interesting about this character. He is Popuri's father.

The Midwife - This fat old lady will be delivering your baby once your
wife is ready. She has her house near the library. You can talk to her
if you want. I rarely see her myself. She is an old family friend since
she mentions your grandfather a lot.

The Tavern Worker - He basically serves drinks after you chose from the
menu. I have read many rumors that he has something from your
grandfather. I haven't checked it out yet but I will as soon as I have
time. He will insist on making you stay at his tavern on New Year's eve.

Carpenters - They will help you out in the mountains, make sure you
help them when ever they ask for it since they will pay you good money
for it. They will also be in charge of the mine during winter. So far
they've built a bridge and a Hot Spring. You can also ask for them to
upgrade your house. Pay them and you won't be sorry. They will also give
you useful information.

Kids - There's lots of them all around the place. Believe it or not,
they give the best tips in the game. Some will come and take a look at
your farm. Their names are Stu, Kent, and May.

Elves - These are little creatures that live in the mountain caves.
They can only speak Pig Latin unless you become really good friend with
them; then you will able to talk with them. Making friend with these
little creatures is a must. They help out a lot.

Greg - Greg is the fisherman. He will give you a rod for free at the
beginning of the game. He will also tell you how to fish. He isn't that
important in the game. He is related to Elli somehow.

Restaurant Owners - They live far away from everybody. I have not found
anything important from them except for recipes. They are very old and
have a hard time remembering things.

Merchant - This guy will come to your house every evening to pick up
anything you want to sell. He used to be your grandfather's good old
friend. He likes to sell sweets during festivals and especially during
the dog and horse race. He hangs around the tavern sometimes.

Salesperson - Watch out for this one, he will appear sometimes at your
house offering to sell you good stuff. Never buy from him even if the
makes a good offer. You will end up wasting your money if you do so.
Only buy the power nut from him during one of the spring festivals.

Kai - He works at the vineyard. He cares a lot for Karen and
understands her. He will be at the vineyard all the time. If not, try
looking at the tavern late at night to see if you have better luck.

Bug Catcher - He will appear at Moon Mountain during the second year.
He is looking for some sort of super rare bug. He is basically a minor
character in the game.

Photographer - He will take a picture for your album at certain points
on the game.

Taste Judge - You will find this fat guy at some of the festivals
serving as a judge. Talking to him during a festival might give you a
better chance of winning something.

Kissing Couple – These two are weird. They will come to your farm
whenever there are fields of grass or flowers. They will eventually get
close and they will kiss. Weird isn't it?

Wow! I think that's all of them. I would like to mention that I've seen
some unknown characters at the dog and horse race. They are two weird
girls and two old people. You can also find monkeys, beetles, crickets,
ladybugs, dragonflies, butterflies, and snakes in the mountains.

                        -o-TOOLS AND ITEMS-o-

Axe - The axe is used to collect lumber. It starts off at level one
like every tool and goes up to level three. It will cut the half-trees
into pieces with six hits of the level one axe. It will only take two
hits to chop them down with the level two axe and only one with the
level three axe. It will take a long time to level up this item up to
level three. Be careful and don't hit your animals with it! It happens
all the time when you forget to switch it.

Hoe - You must use the hoe to fertilize the ground before you can put
seed in it. This tool also levels up three times. It will fertilize a 1
x 1 area with the level one hoe. A 1 x 3 area with the level two hoe and
a 1 x 6 area with the level three hoe. You can also hurt your animals
with this weapon so be careful. You will use the hoe for mining purposes
during wintertime. It takes pretty long to level it up.

Hammer - Use this tool to break rocks and clear the land for farming.
It takes a really short time to level up the hammer. I would recommend
using it a lot indoors just to level it up quickly. The only reason I
could find to try and level up this tool was so that I could get the
power nut behind the pond during winter. It takes six hit to break a
large rock with a level one hammer, two hits with a level two hammer and
only one hit with the level three hammer. You only need one hit to break
the small rocks, even if you use the hammer on its first level.

Sickle - Another hard tool to level up. I only used it to cut my grass
but I found it was much easier to level it up if you use it on weeds
too. It will cut a 1 x 1 area at level one, a 1 x 3 area with a at level
two hammer and a 3 x 3 area at level three. You can hurt your animals
with this tool.

Watering Can - The watering can you will use a lot in this game. It
takes an average time to level up and you need to feel it up with water
from the pond before you can use it. Your crops will not grow if you
don't water them. I would recommend for you to water your crops everyday
except on rainy days (This doesn't count if your crops are in a
greenhouse). Use the watering can after you have fertilized an area and
once the seed have been placed. A level one watering can will sprinkle a
1 x 1 area, a level two watering can will sprinkle a 1 x 3 area.
Finally, a level three watering can will sprinkle a 3 x 3 area.

Brush - You can not level up your brush in this game. You will need to
buy this from Rick's tool shop at the beginning of the game. Use this
tool to make your animals winners at the festivals. You should get in
the habit of brushing your horse, cows, and your sheep every day.

Milker - Buy this item from Rick's tool shop after you've bought a cow.
You can only milk adult cows so you will have to wait a little bit until
they grow. You will get different kinds of milk depending on how well
you take care of your cows. Just stand in front of the cow and use the
milker to get the milk.

Clippers - The clippers are used for shearing sheep wool. These do not
level up. Like the cows, you can only shear an adult sheep. Get them
from Rick's tool shop.

Fishing Pole - You get this tool from a fisherman near the river. You
fish by holding down the "A" button in front of the river or the pond.
Once the rod begins to shake, release the "A" button as quickly as
possible. It takes practice to do this.

Bottle - I got the bottle from Rick during a spring festival (I forgot
which one). Cost a few hundred bucks but it's used to carry liquids like
water and potions. You can only buy potions from the potion shop if you
have a bottle.

Miracle Potion - You buy this at the Green Ranch after you've bough a
cow. Use it on a adult cow to make her pregnant. You will get a baby
cow a few days after that.

Bell - Use the bell to make the cows and sheep follow you. You get it
whenever you buy a cow or a sheep for the first time only.

Chicken feed - Use the chicken feed to satisfy your chicken's hunger.
Buy it at the Green Ranch.

Medicine - Use it on any sick animal you have to make it become healthy
again. Buy it at the Green Ranch.

Ocarina - You can buy the ocarina from the Old Man's shop to the right
of Rick's Shop. You will have to wait a couple months before you can buy
it. It is used to play as a musician in some festivals.

Medal Bag - It holds all the medals you win at the horse and dog races.
Use the medals to get prices from the Major's Wife.

Map -This map has to be followed in order to win get the music box.

Lucky Bracelet - It's supposed to bring good fortune. Become friends
with Karen and she will give it to you as a gift on your birthday.

Cake Card/ Flower Card - Get them from the flower shop and from the

many as you can afford. One summer (It's "supposed" to be on the second
summer) he will come and ask if he could trade you some marbles for one
of your flowers.

Music Box- It has to be repaired by Rick for it to work. It makes the
girls happy. Check out the secrets section to learn how to get it.

            -o-INFORMATION ON THE DIFFERENT SEASONS-o-

SPRING

- This is the starting season.
- Crops grow well and fast on this season and there are many good items
in the mountains.
- Expect to have many rainy days on this season.
- Flowers are practically everywhere and especially in Moon Mountain.
- Many of the characters that where gone during the winter will return
during the spring.
- Cabbage is a big money maker.
- Save your money to buy a cow so you can enter the contest on the first
autumn of the game.
- Don't buy grass, you don't need it until you have a cow.
- Once you have a cow, make sure you plant a lot of grass in front of
your stable. Around six fields will be good and they will be even better
if the area is fenced.
- Leveling up your tools as soon as possible helps a lot in the game.
- If you hate to use wood for fencing purposes, use rocks instead but
you won't be able to jump over them. Wood gets bad after rainy days.
- No natural disasters on this month have ever appeared on my game.
- Have a lot of money before the first festivals. There are many good
things to buy there but they are kind of expensive at this time of the
game. You will have to wait until next year if you don't buy them this
year.
- Buy anything you need during this season, there's too much good stuff
to buy during this season.
- Begin to give your girl gifts since the very beginning. Do not give
any gifts to anybody else until you've married your girl… Not even for
recipes.

SUMMER

- Crops in this season take a long time to grow. Do not expect to enter
the first vegetable festival because of this.
- Grow a lot of corn! It takes a lot of time to grow but you get a lot
of money.
- There will be a lot of festivals involving sports (If you consider
running around looking for eggs a sport).
- It is very possible for natural disasters to occur in this season.
Don't be surprised if a typhoon hits twice in a row.
- If you got a cow during spring (which is kind of hard) you should try
to take really good care of it during the summer for the cow festival in
autumn.
- You should have a little money from spring by now. Use it wisely and
only when you need to do so.
- Grow grass so your animals can grease outside but watch out for
typhoons!

AUTUMN

- Avoid eating the poisonous mushrooms. They are the ones with the red
top with little yellow dots.
- If you want a girl, go ahead and begin to give her presents. Try not
to waste your money and get natural food from the mountains instead.
Karen like berries for example. Wait a little longer if you are going
for Elli since it's hard to impress her because her cakes are so
expensive.
- Help the carpenters if they ask for help. You make tons of money this
way.
- Buy eggplants since they are the only crop you get for this season
which is kind of sad since they give you little money for them.
- Get wood quick. When the carpenters build a hot spring all the half-
dead trees on mountain area will disappear.
- Don't buy animals in this season since winter is coming and you can't
take them outside.
- Buy tons of berry seeds if you have a greenhouse. They are worth tons
of money.
- Your tools should be at level three by this time. If not, use the
leveling up technique I've given in the tool section.

WINTER

- So much to do! If you have a greenhouse then you will have a very busy
month. If you don't, this moth is the most boring one you will have.
- Grow berries on your greenhouse if you have one.
- Cut wood on the first eight days.
- Be ready for a lot of festivals at the end of the month.
- Buy a lot of drinks from the tavern, they will give you a fun time at
the new-year's celebration.
- Go mining everyday you can. You get at least five hundred gold per
day.
- Help the carpenters build the hot springs. You will get a lot of money
for your actions.
- I wouldn't recommend letting your animals stay outside. They won't get
food and they will probably get sick too.
- Don't buy animals, wait until spring.

                         -o-THE FESTIVALS-o-

SPRING
Eight- Planting Festival- Just a fun festival really. The year's king
gets to ride a balloon and the rest of the people will release their
small balloons into the air… Once you are done talking to people, go get
a balloon and watch them all fly.

Seventeenth- Horse Race- You will not be able to enter the horse race
during the first year so don't try to enter. You have to buy medal to
bet from the major's wife in order to get some prices. It doesn't really
work if you bet the same amount to every horse. You have to bet all your
money to one or two horses only if you really want to make money. You
can get some quite helpful items but mostly all you get is useless. Try
to be on time for the first horse race to get more chances of winning
something. If you entered the horse race during the second year or any
year after that, you will get your picture taken with your horse. In
order to win you must see the color of your horse's stamina, if its
white then give it up, its almost impossible to win. But if its yellow
or green, wait five or six seconds and jam the "A" button as fast as you
can. You can buy fries and treats from the small post. Ann's brother
will get mad if you don't enter the race.

Twenty Third- Flower Festival- You should've voted for your favorite
girl during the past three days at the square. The flower queen is
chosen at random. If you girl gets selected queen, don't dance with
anybody since you can't dance with her. In order to dance with the
queen, you must be the king. You are chosen king during another
festival. If your girl is not the queen, go on and talk to the major.
Let the dance begin! Make sure you buy the rare seeds Lillia is selling
and the Power Berry from the man in the black suite.

SUMMER
First- Fireworks- Go meet your favorite girl late at night for some
romance.

Ninth- Vegetable Festival- Forget participating if you do not have a
greenhouse my friend. Summer crops take much longer that nine days to
grow. Do not expect to win unless you have vegetable you grew yourself.
You can serve as a judge if you do not want to participate. Bring your
vegetable if you feel confident and soon the major will announce the
results.

Seventeenth- Firefly Festival- A pretty boring festival if you ask me
but at least it gives you something to do out of your regular schedule.
You get to toss a flower-looking lantern into the ocean late at night at
the beach.

Twenty Fourth- Sea Festival- This is a truly fun event. Go to the beach
and the game is simple: Pop your nerves out by jamming the "A" button as
fast as you can. You get miscellaneous prices like house decorations and
extra wood. It seemed to get a little harder every year. Anyway, the one
who swims to the flag first is the winner.

AUTUMN
Fourth- Cow Festival- I find it very hard to win this festival during
the first year. The Greenranch owner will come on the third and ask if
you would like to enter. Say yes and go choose your cow. You will win
for sure if your cow gives large milk. The festival takes place at the
Greenranch. You can also serve as a judge if you don't have a cow or you
didn't enter. Your cow will give you golden milk if she wins and make
sure you leave your cow out greasing after it wins in order to get a
picture added to your album.

Twelfth- Harvest Festival- Many kinds of baked goods are here for you to
try at the square. Go se Elli to find out if you are the town's new
king! She will give you a cake for you to eat, if it has a coin in it
that means that you are the winner. Pick a partner and dance with your
favorite girl at the very end.

Twentieth- Egg Festival- This might be the best festival there is. This
festival will take place on the upper town section. Talk to the major,
he will show you an egg with a color, quickly run and check all the
"boxes" to try to find another one like the major's. If you get the
wrong one, just toss it and try another box. It's very hard to loose and
the price is a Power Berry. You will get a turtle decoration for your
house if you win during the second year.

Twenty Eight- Horse Race- Yes, I believe I've already explained this
one. Look under Spring Festivals.

WINTER

Tenth- Thanksgiving Day- Friends will come and offer gifts to you during
the day. I suggest you get a cake yourself and be kind enough to offer
it. Work on your fields all day and wait for your gifts along the day.

Nineteenth- Dog Race- This event is just like the horse race except the
prices are different. You use the same medals you used at the horse
race.

Twenty Fourth- Starry Night- A lot of very mushy stuff will take place
today with your girl. Late at night you can go visit your girl and both
of you will watch the stars at night. You can ask Elli, Maria, and Ann
to go out after you've heard the ceremony at church. Popuri will be at
Moon Mountain and Karen will be very lonely at the beach. This will get
your girl to like you better for sure!

Twenty Seventh- Spirit Festival- All you do during the firs year is
watch how a four musicians perform. But the situation changes if you are
the king and you have an ocarina. You get to choose three partners but
they must be really good friends of yours in order for the to accept
your invitation. You will wear a mask and will perform to the rest of
the town.

New Year's Eve- Have you been drinking? It's time to show off how much
you can drink, If you buy many drinks at the bar, you should be able to
get everybody out of the square. There is no price for doing so, its
just for fun.

                         -o-THE AREAS-o-

Here's a brief description of the areas in the game.

YOUR FARM
You will be in this place around 40 to 60% of the time in the game. You
can find your house, a stable, a silo and a nice little spot to keep
your chickens. There is a huge area for you to grow crops, build
fences, and even find some buried treasures. There is also a doghouse
and plate on the floor to feed it if you want. For some reason it is the
only place that will be affected by typhoons. Many things can be updated
in this section like getting a log terrace, a new doghouse, a new
stable, and even a huge greenhouse.

YOUR STABLE
You keep your cows and sheep here during rainy or snowy days. There is
room for eight a total of 8 animals and a small spot in the corner to
let your pregnant animal rest. There is a place on the lower-right
corner to sell your goods like milk and wool. There is some weird metal-
like box in the upper-middle section where you get food for the animals.

YOUR HEN HOUSE
You keep your chickens here. You have an incubator on the upper-right
corner to grow an egg into a chicken. You also have a shipping box on
the lower right corner. There are six feeding spots on the left where
you put your chicken feed everyday. There's pasture all over the wooden
floor.

YOUR HOUSE
Basically where you live. There is a bed on the left, a calendar to the
right of the bed, a table in the middle of the room, a TV set with only
four channels, and a big wooden box to store your items on the lower-
right corner. The channels you can see include Educational Program,
Weather Forecast, and the last one is just a bunch of static. You can
update your house in many ways. If you want to know how, check out the
"Updating your house" section.

INTERSECTION
Right when you leave your farm, the path divides into five different
paths. The top path leads to Moon Mountain. The path that goes up the
hill leads to the Vineyard. The Path right below that takes you to the
upper section of the town and the path bellow that leads to the lower
section of town. Finally the southernmost path leads to the Green Ranch.

MOON MOUNTAIN POND AREA
This area has a fisherman's tent by the pond at the upper-right corner.
There is a river on the left side and a bridge that will allow you to
cross it into the next area. There is a zigzag path to a higher level of
the mountain on the upper left corner.

MOON MOUNTAIN HOT SPRING AREA
This area as a lot of wood you can cut before you help in the process of
building the hot springs. You will also build a bridge leading to a new
area in the mountain. You find rare items for most of the seasons here.

MOON MOUNTAIN CARPENTER'S AREA
You find a little house in the middle of this section. You can always
come here to get some wood and items according to each season. You enter
this section by crossing the bridge on the pond section. If you go up
you will be able to enter the cave. There is a path that is kind of
hidden on the lower left corner that leads to the wishing pond.

MOON MOUNTAIN WISHING POND AREA
There is a small pond in the upper middle part. There is a tiny river
flowing from it and heaven knows where the rivers lead. You can cross
this river using the board that goes across it. You can also get wood
here.

MOON MOUNTAIN'S SUMMIT
A somewhat long road leads to the summit of the Moon Mountain. Reach
this area by crossing the bridge you build on the hot spring section.
There is a restaurant with two really old people near the top. Sorry but
you don't get any food here. You can also access this area by climbing
the tree by the cave on the carpenter's house section.

THE CAVE
The cave has a lot of rare herbs in all seasons except for winter. You
will find a door that leads to the mine and a small hole leading to the
elf's house. The mine will be closed and will not open until winter.

THE ELF'S HOUSE
A bunch of little elves (two or three to be exact) live here. You can
enter this secret area by pushing the "A" on the whole in the cave. You
will find nothing but three beds, one over the other one. You will also
find rare tools that you can not use during the game.

THE VINEYARD

The vineyard is Karen's home. You will be able to enter her house and
also the wine storage room. There are a lot of berries that have been
planted in rows in the northwest section by the house.

KAREN"S HOUSE

There is nothing to do here except getting recipes from Karen's mom.
There are a few sofas and a stairway leading to Karen's room.

WINE STORAGE ROOM
There is nothing here, just a bunch of barrels full of wine in the upper
floor and in the basement.

THE UPPER TOWN
This is a big place indeed. You can find the flower shop when you enter,
it is the one with the blue roof that's fenced all the way around. Right
in front of the flower shop is the bakery. The bakery has a small yard
where an old woman will rest in a rocking chair. If you follow the brick
path you will find the church on the right. You can find Rick's Tool
Shop and the Antique Shop by the red mailbox right in front of the
church. If you walk even more forward you will see a stairway which
leads to the Town Square. You will also find a house to the right of the
up-going stairway; the house has a bunch of barrels all around it and
it's a bar. There is also a greenhouse over Popuri's shop. If you go all
the way down you will find two paths that lead to the Lower Town.

LOWER TOWN
I will start explaining from the top of the area. You can see the
library on the top left corner of the area; it has a red mailbox in
front of it, which looks like a birdhouse. If you go up you will end up
in the upper town. Go down and you will notice the major's house. It is
the one with tall bushes surrounding it. It looks kind of fancy and it
has a red mailbox in front of it. The small house to the right of the
library is the midwife's house, it has some huge green tubes over it.
Below the midwife's house is the graveyard, which has six tombs in it
that you can read. To the right of the midwife's house it the Potion
Shop. You can leave this area by following the path that goes all the
way to the right.

TOWN SQARE
This is a big area with trees and benches surrounding it. Most of the
festivals will be held here. There is a door on the top that leads to
the horse track. There is also a weird fountain near the middle of the
top wall.

HORSE AND DOG RACING TRACK
Do not expect to be here unless you are in a horse or dog festival.
There's a post for sweets in the upper left corner and a ramp used a
seat on the lower area. There's people cheering all over the place.

THE GREEN RANCH
As you enter the ranch you will see two small paths before entering the
gate. The one that goes up is a dead end and the one that goes down
leads to the beach. Once you enter the gate you will notice two houses.
The house on the right sells provisions for animals and the house on the
left if the storage room for the ranch. Below the storage room is a
small opening in the gate leading to the ranch's field. The stable is
located on the upper left corner.

THE BEACH
What can I say? There's sand, water and a dock on the lower part.

THE CARPENTER'S HOUSE
Come here to update your house. Simply get the needed supplies and read
the picture on the back of the house. This house is opened from eight to
six and it closes on Tuesdays.

THE FLOWER SHOP
Lillia's Shop is a place where you buy seeds to grow crops. Look under
"Items" section for more information. There is a door leading to
Popuri's room on the lower left corner. It opens from nine to five and
it is closed on Sundays.

THE BAKERY
Talk to the worker behind the counter for information on how to buy in
this shop. This shop opens from nine to five and closes on Mondays.

THE CHURCH
It opens at around nine and it is open everyday. There is no business
here on Saturdays. This place serves as a school from Monday trough
Friday and the ceremonies are on Sundays.

SOUVENIR SHOP
All you do here is buy an Ocarina. It is closed on Mondays and the daily
schedule is from nine to five.

RICK'S TOOL SHOP
You can come here and buy many useful items during the game. It is
closed on Mondays and Weekends. It opens from ten to six. It will also
close on snowy and rainy days as well.

THE BAR
The bar is opened everyday except on Sundays from six to midnight. You
can buy drinks and meet people here all the time.

THE LIBRARY
Meet Maria here. There are a bunch of books that you cannot read. It is
Closed on Mondays and opens from nine trough five.

DRUG STORE
Opened from nine to five and closed on weekends. You can buy medicines
from the old man in here if you have an empty bottle. There is a door
leading to a back room that has two beds on it. One of the beds has a
sheet with a picture of something that looks pretty close to a Pikachu.

MIDWIFE'S HOUSE
There is pot in the middle, some weird looking "bed", and a bunch of
maternity books on a shelf. It will open as soon as the midwife wakes
up.

MAYOR'S HOUSE
The mayor's house is sort of fancy. There are pictures all over the
walls. You don't come in here unless you want to visit Maria whenever
she is sick. Opens when someone's home.

GREENRANCH STORAGE ROOM
You can see the ranch's supplies here and sometimes meet Ann's brother.
Anything else? No.

GREENRANCH STABLE
The animals here seem to be healthy. Ann's brother will be here a lot.
You can come here if you are looking for Ann.

GREENRANCH SUPPLY STORE
Opened from eight to five and closed on Thursdays. You come here
whenever you want to buy animal stuff. You can buy feed, medicine, and
even pregnancy potions. There is a door that leads to Ann's room on the
upper right corner.

-o-TAKING CARE OF YOUR FARM ANIMALS-o-

CHICKENS
Buy these little creatures at the green ranch. You don't really make big
profit out of these since their eggs only sell for 50G unless you buy
one, incubate the egg, repeat the process until you have six chickens,
and finally sell them all for 500G a piece. This is a profit but you can
only sell one animal per day, which makes it a big waste of time. The
chickens will not lay eggs even if you forget to feed them for one
single day. Chickens also die pretty quickly. As a personal opinion,
chickens are the worst animals in the game. Only buy chickens if you are
a beginner who is desperate to buy animals. If you leave them outside
and you don't fence the area where you left them, you will have to spend
a whole day looking for them all around your farm. Chicken feed costs
10G a piece at the Greenranch. All you have to do is feed them everyday
in order to keep them alive and make a profit out of them. There are no
special care features on chickens.

SHEEP
Sheep have their good side and their bad side. The good thing about
sheep is that their wool can be sold for 900G and sometimes for up to
1800G! Now there are a lot of drawbacks to this. You will need for a
sheep to grow after you buy it in order to get wool from it. You have to
buy some expensive cutters from Rick in order to cut the wool. You have
to feed your sheep everyday and broom them if you are trying to get high
quality wool. You also have to talk with them, you have to understand
that sheep are very different from chickens; they need special care. It
takes a whole week for wool to grow back. They are expensive and require
many cares but for 1800G as a profit, it makes the effort worth the
time.

COWS
Cows are very expensive at the Greenranch. They are very similar to
sheep since they need to be brushed and fed the same way. You need to
talk to them, and you also have to milk them for extra love. Once your
cow reaches an adult form, you will need to buy a milker at Rick's Tool
Shop. There are four sizes of milk you can get from cows: small, medium,
large, and gold. The cow will start off giving small milk. You can only
receive better milk if you take good care of the cow and show it
affection. If you what the cow to give you golden milk, you will need to
make that cow a winner at the cow festival. Leaving them outside is
good, the cows don't move around much and are easy to find. It's still a
good idea to keep them fenced.

DOG
The only reason for you to train your dog; would be to win the dog race
festival. If you are trying to win the dog race, here are some helpful
hints. First, get in the habit of feeding your dog every day. You can
easily get some food from Moon Mountain but home-made vegetables work
better. Using your whistle to call him will help it grow stronger and it
will also provide more stamina. Keep your dog inside your house on rainy
days. Let it visit people too. You get the dog for free at the beginning
of the game.

HORSE
Your horse if helpful when you have a lot of crops outside and very
little time. You can but your vegetables on the horse's saddle instead
of having to carry them all the way to the shipping box. Brushing your
horse will help a bunch since he will become friendlier. You have to try
to ride him everyday if you what to see him do a good job at the horse
races. You don't have to feed him, just show him how much you like him.

OTHERS
Rabbits, Squirrels, Bugs, Cats, Foxes, these are some of the other
animals you will find around eventually. You can't keep them so just
ignore them or show them to people to see their expressions.

Here is some of extra information.
- Cows, Sheep, and other animals get sick when you forget to feed them.
Try not to let this happen since medicine is very expensive.
- You feed pasture to cows and sheep.

                   -o-INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR HOME-o-

There are many ways in which you can update your house. The most logic
way to update your house is to visit the carpenter's house at Moon
Mountain. The prices for update are unreasonable but it's worth it most
of the time. These are the prices for updates.

Kitchen- 5000G- 450 Wood
Bathroom- 3000G- 300 Wood
Stairway- 2000G- 250 Wood
Greenhouse- 30000G- 580 Wood
Log Terrace- 7000G- 350 Wood
Baby Bed- 1000G- 150 Wood

Darn expensive, Here's an explanation for each update.

Kitchen- The kitchen has a refrigerator which if very useful. You can
store any kind of food in here to keep it fresh for a long time. It also
has a book of recipes, which don't do anything. It is still very hard to
find all recipes (Look under secrets section). It also has a picture
that tells you how many Power Berries you have and where you found them.

Bathroom- a bathroom is pretty good to relieve tiredness but that's
about it. The toilet has no use but to it brings some humor to the game.
You can't use the sink.

Stairway- So far it hasn't done anything for me. It is a stairway that
leads to the roof of your house.

Greenhouse- A greenhouse is as must buy! It's almost as big as the
fields outside but time does not go by in it meaning you can take care
of tons of crops. It comes with a shipping box and a water pond too. You
can plant crops during winter and you can plant any kind of plant during
any of the seasons. You still have to water your crops during rainy days
and you also have to worry about typhoons.

Log Terrace- Simple a nice and expensive decoration for the back of your
house.

Baby Bed- You must build a baby bed if you want to have a baby since
your wife won't get pregnant if you don't have it. It is placed below
your own bed and has a green color.

I have found other ways to update your house. Here's some other stuff
I've found…

New Stable- I haven't gotten this one yet because it costs 3000 Medals
at the horse race. It's a better stable for all that I know.

New Dog House- You can buy a new dog house at the dog race for medals.
Looks really fancy.

Carpet- Buy a carpet from Rick's Tool Shop. It goes underneath you
table.

Drawer- It holds items like milk and food from the mountains. It is
placed on the lower left corner of your room and you buy it from Rick at
his shop.

Invincible Katori- I won this the first time I assisted to the water
festival during summer (I won of course). It's supposed to protect your
greenhouse against typhoons.

Turtle Model- I got this from winning at the egg festival for a second
time during the second year. It is placed over your TV. It's supposed to
protect your greenhouse against typhoons also.

Tablecloth- A very nice tablecloth that goes over the table in the bed
section. You win this is you are lucky at the raffle.

Mug- A mug that goes on your kitchen. It looks weird and you get it if
you have a lucky number on your lottery ticket.

Dish- These look like mats all over the kitchen. You get this as a
lottery price.

Cushion- What do you think it is? It's a cushion. It is a lottery price
also.

Flower Seal- You get a bunch of new stickers for your calendar. This is
another lottery price.

Honey- It fill up your empty bottle to recover your energy (honey does
that? I learned something today!). It is a lottery price.

Flower Crystals- These go straight into the bathtub and they will help
you recover your energy faster when you take a bath. This is the last
lottery price that I know of.

                           -o-DATING-o-

Are you trying to get married? Here's some tips to woo each of the girls
in the game.

Karen- Karen likes Berries from both spring and autumn. Go to the bar
every night and show her how much you can drink. Beat her on New Year's
eve drinking contest and she will like you a lot. Go check on her on
rainy days because she will get sick on a rainy day. She likes vegetable
but she is very particular about vegetables you can eat raw like
tomatoes. Dance with her anytime you are given a choice to do so.

Ann- Simple enough. Bring your dog and show it to her everyday. She
loves wool, especially the high quality one. Look out for her when she
gets in trouble or sick. Make friends with her brother and that's about
it.

Popuri- She likes flowers and especially if you grow them yourself.
Accept her help anytime she offers it and bring her lots of presents. Be
friends with her mother and never change your mind about buying at her
mother's store. Buy any special seed her parent's offer and be really
nice to her dad.

Maria- Read the shelves of the library every day, do bring her lots of
presents. Talk her everyday and visit the church often to check if she
is playing the piano to make her extra happy. Don't bring her animals
from the mountains and do not miss a day at the library. Talk to the
major often and visit her house a lot.

Elli- Buy cakes from the menu when she's inside the bakery. Bring her
eggs and fish. You can also buy cakes from the counter and give them to
her. Be nice to her grandmother and to the baker also. You must buy
cakes daily to really impress her. But eggs will work if you don't have
money.

Also note that the music box greatly increases the amount of affection a
girl has towards you. See the secrets section for more information about
the music box.

                          -o-SECRETS-o-

Here's all the game secrets I've found.

Power Berry Locations-
1-Use your hoe in your fields a lot and it will eventually appear at
random.

2-Wait for winter to come and go up to the fishing pond. Make sure your
hammer is a t level three and super charge it to blow away the huge rock
behind the pond. If your hammer hasn't reached a high level, use the
leveling up trick written in my Items section.

3-Win it at the egg festival (Hard to miss this one).

4-Make sure you have full energy and pick get a vegetable from your
farm. Go to the wishing pond at Moon Mountain and throw it into the pond
from the bridge. A fairy will appear and ask for your wish. Wish for
strength and she will tell you that you energy bar is full. She will
give you a Berry instead.

5-Buy this one from the men in the black suite during the flower
festival. I couldn't find this one because I don't trust this guy since
he sold me junk.

6-Oh man! This one is hard, you have to dig at the mine and look for a
hole on the ground by using your hoe. You will be asked if you would
like to go down. Say yes and you will appear at a new level of the mine
with better minerals. You have to find another hole and repeat the
process. The –berry is at the last (Third) section of the mine. By the
time you reach this area you will probably have less than an hour to
find it unless you are lucky.

7-This happened to me during my seventh summer. I was too rich to keep
working so I started fishing in the pond and a good old friend told me
to drop the small fishes since they where useless. I threw a fish back
into the pond and viola! Monster pups up and gives up a Power Berry.

8-Thanks to WarlordBob for this one! Get the marbles and give them to
elves in the cave once they ask for them.

9-Fishing brings surprises! Try at the beach during summer. It might
work during other seasons but I got it during summer.

10-Thanks to patience I've found this one! After the eight winter
passed, I had way too much money even after spending most of it at the
horse races. Get as many presents as your house can hold and give them
away all time! Give presents especially to Popuri's parents and Popuri's
father will soon come to your house and give it to you as a reward for
your kindness and for sacrificing your wallet.

-Party Picture- Must be friends with everyone, have a full stable, and a

best farm that you can think of.

12-Follow the map you find on the tree by the water pond and dig on the
spot for about twenty time to get an old music box (See questions
section for details). It will look very old but Rick can help fix it. It
is used to make the girls extra happy!

13-You can revive the vineyard trees by becoming good friends with the
owner of the bar. He will give you some of the old wine from Karen's
grandmother. This takes time but you must be a real good friend to him.
If you become friends with the elves they will ask talk to you about the
wine. Go to the pond and ask the fairy to revive the trees. You must
throw a vegetable into the pond for her to appear. Again, incredible
things happen when you become friends with people.

14-If you wait a few seconds on the "Press the Start" menu, you will
experience some short clips of Jack during the game. These are the ones
that appear:

First one- There are three cows and one sheep greasing on the pasture.
Jack come and milks the middle cow for some large milk. He walks up to
the shipping box and places the milk in it. The mailman arrives and
gives Jack a letter. He finishes reading it just when mailman is
leaving. Jack's dog come towards you and starts running around in
circles. Jack looks up into the sky.

Second one- The carpenters are working on outside their house when an
eagle flies over their heads. Jack is standing in front of cliff and
cliff gives him a present. Good old Jacks swallows the food right away
and waves goodbye. He crosses the river on the right by using the bridge
and finds Popuri's father and the fishermen. He says hallo to both of
them and starts climbing Moon Mountain.

Third one- Jack and his dog walk into town. Jack finds Popuri and waves
to her. He goes down and waves at Elli and her grandmother as well. He
continues to walk down the road when his dog runs ahead and the children
start playing with him. Jack goes up to the priest who is outside of
church and has a few words with him before he looks at the kids.

That's all the ones that appear on my copy of the game.

15-If you want to keep Elli's grandmother alive forever, all you need to
do is ignore her trough out the entire game. Make sure that you do not
even talk to her on accident. But you must see Elli everyday so that
sooner or later you can end up marrying her. Once you have married Elli,
her grandmother will never die.

16-There seems to be a really neat way to win at the horse/dog races
without loosing any of your money. I haven't tried this but I've
received so many emails telling me about it that it should work. During
a horse/dog race, bet ninety-nine coins on all the racers and then
highlight OK but DO NOT select OK. Press the "B" Button while you
highlight OK. Make sure that you do not talk with the Mayor or her wife
before the race starts. Once the race ends, you will notice that the
medals you canceled where still on the bet but you didn't loose any of
your money. This is a great way to get those prices that require lots of
medals.

                          -o-WALKTHROUGH-o-

OK, here's the thing about the walkthrough. Harvest Moon 64 is a game
where YOU have to make YOUR farm. Making a walkthrough for this game
would be like making one for Sim City 2000. It's not right at all. I
have provided many personal opinions and some helpful information for
you to finish this game. You might say that you want a walkthrough to
make lot of money without understanding that the game goes on forever
and there is plenty of time to make money. This is a virtual farming
game, go on and have fun with it and make your own decisions. I have
been very careful about it on this FAQ, I don't want to make anybody do
the same things I did in this game. All I did was to provide information
and hints as detailed as I could to HELP you build YOUR farm. I would
make a very detailed walkthrough for a game like Final Fantasy VII or
Lunar: Silver Star Story but I will don't want to make one for this game
since there would be many ways to make your farm a success. Anyway,
here's the guide. Enjoy.

****Year One******
******************

SPRING-

Third Day- Your adventure begins in the third day of spring (I don't
know why). Once you get up, start getting familiar with your new home.
You can read the tool guide by your bed. I know that your house looks
very lonely today but I promise it will look much better in a few
months. When you are though exploring, head outside. The major will come
by and ask you if you would like to take a tour. It's your choice
whether you go or not. Anyway, when you are done with the tour (If you
went), take a look around your farm. Go ahead and clear the land near
the shipping box. The shipping box is the one in front of the doghouse.
Go to the rightmost corner and you will notice a tree. Examine the tree
to get a treasure map. You can look under my Secrets section to find out
how to follow it in order to get the music box. When you are done with
that, head to the mountains and get as many good as you can and the
fishing rod from the fisherman. You can quickly catch a fish and give it
to him as a present. If it's getting dark, go to bed immediately. If you
still have some time, go ahead and fill up your backpack with goodies
from the mountains and the head back to your farm. Now you can put all
of your goodies in the shipping box if its still daylight. If not, wait
until tomorrow.

Fourth Day- Put your goods from your trip to Moon Mountain in the
shipping box if you didn't do so yesterday. Now head to the flower shop
in town. Talk to everybody you find on the way there. Buy some cabbage,
it's the best vegetable there is. Now head to the Green Ranch and get a
horse. Immediately head to your farm after that and fertilize the land
you cleared yesterday and plant your seeds. Make sure you water them
too. You can go to Moon Mountain to get some more stuff if you have the
money. Once you the shipping guy comes and picks up your goods, you can
go to bed.

Fifth Day- You should have some more money to buy some potato seeds. Go
ahead and plant them. Once you are done planting and watering your seeds
(you might have to clear the land some more), go out of the farm and
head to the vineyard to see a little discussion between Karen and her
father. You can go get some more stuff from Moon Mountain if you want.
Remember to never let a day go by without making money. You can start
bringing presents to the girl you like but don't do it too often at the
beginning of the game because money is critical at this point. Go to the
cave to get some herbs and give them to the elves. Try to make a habit
of this because the elves are important friends in the game.

Sixth Day- Water your crops and go to the cave at Moon Mountain to give
presents to the elves. Now go back to your farm and pick up any goodies
on the way. Head inside of your house and use any of your tools over and
over until you can't go anymore. Then head outside and talk to your
pony. Get anything from your backpack and put it in the shipping box.
Then go to bed if it's getting late. If not, get some goods from Moon
Mountain and give them to your girl.

Seventh Day- Go to cave and give presents to the elves. Pick up any
goods you find on your way back to the farm. If your crops are ready, go
ahead and place them in the shipping box. Talk to your horse and then go
indoors and use any item at much as you can. If you still have some
time, go on and give your girl some presents. You should be getting a
lot of money by now.

Eight Day- Water your crops and talk to your horse. Now you can take a
brake and go to the square to experience the Planting Festival. It is a
very simple festival so you could miss it if you want although I do not
recommend for you to do so.

Ninth Day- Go visit the elves at Moon Mountain. You can stop bringing
them presents for a little while but you must come back someday and give
them more presents. Get anything you find on the way back and water your
crops. Talk to your horse and clear more land. Look for wood to be
chopped in the farm and then head to Moon Mountain to chop more wood.
This day should go by pretty fast with all the wood chopping. If you
still have time after you have chopped all the wood you can, bring some
presents to your girl. You should have picked any items that you found
while chopping wood and Moon Mountain.

Tenth Day- Get everything you have into the shipping box! This includes
crops and items from the mountain. Talk to your horse and go to Moon
Mountain to chop wood and to pick goodies on the way. Then head back to
your farm and place the items in the shipping box. Clear the land near
the entrance of your stable. Now go inside your house and use any item
over and over until it levels up. Make sure you water your crops before
you do this. You should have tons of money by the time the shipping guy
comes.

Eleventh Day- You should have at least 1000G from all the stuff you
shipped yesterday. Go talk to your horse and chop more wood on Moon
Mountain. Trust me, you will need more wood than you think later in the
game. Get anything you find in the mountain and spend the rest of the
day fishing until dark. Make sure you water your crops first. You could
give the elves some presents if you want but don't waste your time on
gifts for your girls unless she is in the mountains today.

Twelfth Day- Water your crops and talk to your horse. You should try to
get a brush from Rick as soon as you can. Buy more potatoes of cabbage
but make sure you still have enough money to buy that brush. Clear the
land some more and visit your girl if you want. Do not waste your time
in Moon Mountain today unless there is no other way for you to make
money. The land in your farm should be cleared almost totally by the end
of this day.

Thirteenth Day- Today you should star paying attention to your dog. Make
sure you call him everyday in and that you give him some food. You can
give him anything you find at Moon Mountain to make him happy. Keep at
least one item in your backpack from now on just in case you need it.
Talk to your horse and visit your girl. Go to the pond if you have a
vegetable to offer and ask for love to boost up your girl's attitude
towards you. Make a quick trip to Moon Mountain to get some food for
your dog and some stuff to sell. Do not waste time chopping wood today.
Level up your items indoors for the rest of the day.

Fourteenth Day- Call your dog, and talk to your horse. Then go get some
more wood until the day is out. Today is just a regular day.

Fifteenth Day- Lillia's husband will arrive today and introduce himself.
You should have a lot of money today. Get presents and visit your girl
and the elves in the mountain. Make lots of friends today, I would
recommend for you to give a few presents to the bar owner and to the
little kids, especially Stu. Give the potion shop owner a few gifts as
well. If you still don't have the brush, the get it! Stop wasting your
time! Make sure you water your crops and you talk to your horse. Feed
your dog and then go to bed

Sixteenth Day- You will not be able to enter the horse race because your
horse is still too small. Water your crops, talk to your pets and head
to Moon Mountain to get items. Your money should be around 350G – 1200G
if it is still under 350G, you have problems. Start saving a lot of
money. Your goal right is to try to make 2000G by the end of the
twentieth day. If you already that money you can bring presents to
people for the next four days and you can go fishing.

Seventeenth Day- Water your crops but do not ship them if they are
ready! Simply water them again and talk to your horse. Its OK if you
don't feed your dog today. Once your crops are watered head to the
square and watch the horse races. You can make bets but make sure your
money stays over 2000G. Talk to everybody here and especially to your
girl. The treats they sell here have no use so don't buy them unless you
have a lot of money! When the third race is over you can go home and
sleep.

Eighteenth Day- There will be man on the ground begging for food.
Remember when I told you to keep at least one piece of food in your
backpack? Well, give him some food and he will tell you that he is a
stranger and that his name if Cliff. He will also tell you that he has a
condor pet named Cain. Talk to your horse and feed your dog. Then
collect any vegetables that are ready and ship them. Buy some grass but
make sure that your money stays over at 2000G. Plant the grass seeds on
a fertilized area in front of your stable. Then go to Moon Mountain and
start foraging until your backpack is full. Visit the elves on the way
and if you have time you can also visit your girl.

Nineteenth Day- Keep working as usual. Take care of the farm fast so you
can go foraging and you can also visit the elves or your girl if you
still have time. Get as much money as you can tough and only give away
flowers to your friends so that you can ship anything valuable. Remember
to feed your dog and leave the horse alone for now.

Twentieth Day- You should have at least 2000G by now. Water your crops
and talk to your horse. Do not feed your dog today, instead head to the
square and vote for the flower queen. Now head to the green ranch and
buy a chicken and some food for it. Remember that chickens are only good
for reproducing and selling. Go to the farm and take the chicken outside
if it's not raining. You will have to check the weather channel from now
on so that your animal doesn't get sick and lays eggs. Now sped the rest
of the day fishing or giving gifts. Don't visit the elves because it
might take the rest of the day. Use any item a lot indoors before going
to bed.

Twenty First Day- From now on I will stop reminding you to feed your
dog, talk to your horse and water your crops. You must do that everyday
unless I tell you not to do so. Now go buy some grass and place the
seeds on a fertilized area near the hen house. Use some of your wood and
build a fence around that area and cover the entrance with a rock. Take
your chicken inside and put the egg in the egg-laying place to get
another chicken later. Put some food on the right spot and spend the
rest of the day cutting more wood in the mountains. Also visit your
girl.

Twenty Second- If you are planning on planting some new seed you better
hurry and get them, plant them as soon as possible. Your money should be
over 1000G by now. Make sure you have at least 1000G to buy something
important on the twenty third. Do what ever you want today but make sure
you have a lot of money by the end of the day. Buy more food for your
chicken if you need it. I suggest you go fishing or you could also bring
gifts to some people. You can also chop wood if you want but giving
gifts is your best bet. Visit your girl today.

Today is Popuri's birthday so go ahead and bring her a flower.

Twenty Third- After your daily morning routine you must head to square
to experience the flower festival. The most important items you can buy
here include an empty bottle and a power nut. Buy the power nut first
and then buy the empty bottle if you still have money. You can also buy
some rare seed from Lillia and her husband if you want. Talk to people
until the queen appears. You can dance with the girl you like if she did
not get nominated as the queen. You may dance with anybody else if the
girl you like was chosen as the queen. You will go home once the dancing
is over.

Twenty Fourth- Go get your chicken and put it inside the grassy area
surrounded with fences that you made a few days ago. Place any eggs in
the shipping bin. Do not take your chicken outside if its raining! Once
you are done you can go foraging at Moon Mountain or you could also go
get more wood. Do not buy any more seeds unless they are grass seeds.
Concentrate on working the rest of spring and stop giving away gifts for
a little while. The only person you should give a present to for the
rest of the month is your girl. Your wood stock should be pretty big by
now and your money should average from 400G to 1800G.

Twenty Fifth Day- Money is your friend so get lots of today! Remember
not to plant anymore seeds and to check the weather channel for rainy
days! You wouldn't want to leave your chicken outside on a storm would
you? Well, now that the chicken is staying outside in a grassy area you
will not have to feed it anymore! It's still a good idea to have to food
for it just in case. A second chicken should've hatched a few days ago.
Do not sell this chicken yet, wait for it to grow. Place your second
chicken on the fenced area outside along with the first one and cover
any entrances. Your hammer should be a golden one already and you should
be getting near to having the level two watering can. Do not worry about
the hoe or the sickle. Concentrate on chopping more wood and foraging.
Visit the elves today and give them some herbs from the cave. Give your
girl a present if you find her on the mountains also.

Twenty Sixth Day- Your goal now is to get at least 4500G by the end of
spring. Do not buy anything from now on and keep making money. If
already have over 5000G, you can star chopping wood or you can also
level up your tools. Whatever you do, don't waste your time. Get more
money if you need to but do something. Fishing is an excellent choice to
kill time and make a few bucks. You may still visit your girl though.

Twenty Seventh Day- Work if you need to. If you are sick of it and you
hate fishing you can start collecting recipes. I am warning you that you
need a lot of money so watch out. Look under the Recipes section in this
FAQ to learn where to find them. I still recommend for you to go
fishing. Get up to 5300G if you can. Remember, you need at least 4500G
by the end of spring.

Twenty Eight Day- You should have three chickens by now. You ca go ahead
and sell and adult chicken if you want for some fair money. Remember not
to sell the tiny ones and to check the weather channel. Level up your
tools and chop wood. This is basically a regular working day. Make sure
you put another egg on the incubator! Fix your fences if they need to be
fixed and get the weeds out of the way.

Twenty Ninth Day- Consider this year as the "Saving Year". The second
year is where things get moving and you get spend a lot of money. Spring
is almost over so take care of any necessary adjustments because summer
is a very busy month. You can easily get 1500G from Moon mountain in one
day but that is up to you and your skills. Chop wood and forage today.
Also, make sure your chickens are okay.

Thirtieth Day- Last day of spring is here! Keep making money and check
on your chickens. Feel free to give away presents if you have a
ridiculous amount of money. You should also cut your crops with the
sickle today because they will be useless be the end of tomorrow. Level
up your tools and get ready for a very busy summer.

SUMMER-

First Day- Tomorrow you'll really get to work a lot. Save money on this
day too. Do you daily morning routine and get some wood. You can also go
fishing. Use this day to relax before the big day tomorrow. There will
be fireworks at night for you to see. Meet with your girl to make her
happy. Maria will be at the square, Karen will be at the beach, Popuri
will be at Moon Mountain, And Elli will be at the bakery.

Second Day- Finally! You should have tons of money by now. Take it easy
and take one step at a time. Turn on the TV and watch all the channels.
You will learn that summer is the time for sports. Listen carefully, you
must check the weather channel everyday on summer because a typhoon
might (and it will) strike. Whenever this happens you have to take all
of your animals that are outside to their stable or to the hen house. Do
no worry since the elves will come and feed your animals for you. Start
off by talking to your horse and by feeding your dog. The first thing
you have to do is to buy a cow. So go to the ranch and buy a cow. You
should still have around 3500G. Use that money to buy tomato and corn
seeds from Lillia at the flower shop and start fertilizing the ground.
Do not waste all of your money in seeds. Buy some grass seeds too and
save somewhere around 1000G for an emergency. You will also need to buy
some food for your cow. You can cut the grass you planted on spring to
save some money. Don't worry about buying the milker yet. You can also
make a fenced grassy area in front of the stable with some fences to
keep your cow from getting away. You will not have to feed your cow if
you leave it outside but make sure that you don't leave it out on rainy
days.

Third Day- Finish anything you need from yesterday. It might still take
all day to do so. Water your crops a lot because they take forever to
grow. If you are done, you have to add the process of talking and
brushing your cow to your daily schedule. A cow is a big responsibility
so take care of it. Keep working on the farm and add an egg to the
incubator if you need to. You can also sell a chicken if its ready.
Whatever you do, do not waste money on something you do not need. Don't
plant your crops too far from the shipping box because it will take
forever to collect them once they are ready. If you finish everything
and you still have some time left you can go visit your girl or the
elves.

Fourth Day- Take care of everything in the morning. You should have a
very busy farm by now. But you should still have some free time to
explore and check out what's new at Moon Mountain. You should get brand
new types of natural food. These items can also be shipped and you will
receive money from them. Look around and check on the elves and your
girl if you still have time. Do whatever you feel like doing after that.

Fifth Day- Take care of the farm in the morning and then explore Moon
Mountain again. Keep foraging until your backpack is full and visit the
elves. Keep foraging until dark and only give your girl a present if you
happen to find her at the mountain. You can also get some wood while
foraging and you could also fish for a little while. Return home and
have a good night.

Sixth Day- Now is the time to forage for gifts. Instead of picking up
items and shipping them, you should give them out as presents unless
your money supply is incredibly low. I would say that you should have
around 3500G by now. If you still do not have the money, try reproducing
your chickens and selling them. Keep foraging and fishing, try to set a
schedule so that you still have time to visit your girl and the
townspeople. Making friends in the game is very important. I would also
suggest for you to check out the Recipes section in order to find out
how to get recipes by giving away gifts.

Seventh Day- You can buy the milker from Rick if you haven't done so
already. You won't be able to use it until your cow is and adult.
Remember to keep incubating eggs as soon as a new chicken is born. Keep
buying food for your animals. Go to the flower shop and buy some more
grass seeds and plant them near your stable. Remember to keep your cow
outside for it to give you better milk faster. Go foraging or fishing if
you still have some extra time. Visit you girl as well.

Eight Day- Go to Moon Mountain to collect gifts today. Give them away
and visit your girl and the elves. You should also get more wood and
more grass. Now is the time to start drinking! If you are going for
Karen then you should know what I'm talking about. After the shipper
comes you can go to the bar and have some drinks. You will drink at the
new-year's eve depending on how much you drink here at the bar. Drink
every other day to have a good time on the new-year's party!

Ninth Day- Today is the vegetable festival. You will not be able to
enter this contest until you have a greenhouse. You can still serve as a
judge and have a good time but remember to take care of your farm in the
morning. Water your crops as quickly as you can to enjoy the festival
even longer. Make sure you talk with your girl at the festival.

Tenth Day- Your tomatoes will be ready today if you planted them on the
first day of summer. Use the money you get from shipping them to buy
more seeds. You can water the plants again and you will get more
tomatoes in a few days. Visit your girl and the elves if you have time
and remember to have drink at the bar if you have over 6000G. You should
save one of your tomatoes for the fairy at in the pond at Moon Mountain
and wish for love of for weather to reduce the chances of a typhoon
striking.

Eleventh Day- Keep working, sell your adult chickens if you have any but
make sure you have one left to lay more eggs. Now is the time for all of
your tools to get leveled up. Use the sickle on your grass and then use
the level up trick inside a house after taking care of the farm. Spend
the rest of the day foraging for gifts or for shipping if you are low on
money. Start thinking about reaching 20000G by the end of summer.

Twelfth Day- Add three or four sets of corn to your fields today. Do not
worry about your horse for the entire first year. You will not race him
until next year. The first year should be used to make money for the
second year. Visit the elves if you haven't seen them in a while and
keep making friends. Go to the bar and have a drink at night.

Thirteenth Day- Get more tomatoes and ship as many as you want but save
one. Use it as an offering to the Moon Mountain fairy. Ask for love or
for weather. Use another tomato to feed your dog. If you do not have
tomatoes, try having a gift day or a go foraging. Remember to check the
weather channel because a typhoon usually strikes somewhere near the
twentieth day. Your money should be getting near 7000G by now and you
should also have over 1000 wood.

Fourteenth Day- If your tomatoes where not ready yesterday then they
should be today (If you have tomatoes at all). If you planted corn today
then you can ship them also. This will probably use up most of the day
so I would recommend having your horse near the fields to make the job
much faster. Just place the corn or the tomatoes in the horse instead of
the shipping box. You can go fishing once you are done.

Today is Ann's birthday so make sure that you give her a present.

Fifteenth Day- Visit the elves today and your friends. Keep making money
until you have near 10000G. You can buy a sheep if you really feel
comfortable with it but make sure you have a lot of extra money before
you do so. You can always go buy a drink from the bar if you really feel
like it. Do not any more seeds from now on since a typhoon will strike
shortly and you already have too many crops to take care of. All of your
tools should be at level two by now and the hammer should be at level
three. Buy some animal medicine just in case you need it later and keep
it in the box at your house. You can always keep planting grass.

Sixteenth Day- Cut your grass if it's ready. Make sure you are getting
rid of the weeds by using the sickle instead of picking them up. Visit
the elves and stop planting new crops because a typhoon is just around
the corner. Buy the milker from Rick if you haven't done so already. You
can also buy the clippers if you have a sheep by now but keep in mind
that you need 20000G before summer ends. Concentrate on the farm today,
fix any broken fences, water your crops, and take care of your animals.
Sell chickens if you have too many.

Seventeenth Day- Take care of everything in the morning. Today is a
perfect day to visit the town. Buy some cakes and enjoy them. Visit as
many people as you want and give them gifts from the mountains. Do not
visit the bar today because there will be a festival tonight at seven.
The festival will take place at the beach. The beach is sort of hidden
so check my Areas section if you have trouble finding it. After the
festival you will go to bed.

Eighteenth Day- You might get more corn or tomatoes today. Do not bother
buying any more seeds not only because of the typhoon but also because
they will not grow fast enough and they will die before you can make a
profit from them. Get another sheep if you can afford it but keep in
mind that buying more animals will make the days longer and you will
have to spend more money on taking care of them. I also want to remind
you that you should be saving money from now on. So not buy gifts, get
them from the mountains. You can still visit your girl and your friends.

Nineteenth Day- Now it's time for more working. Start getting ready for
autumn from now on. Find out how to make money, I have already told you
of few ways to make money but you have to make up your own also. Taking
care of the farm is still very important. You are getting ready to buy a
greenhouse in fall so get moving if you have to. Do not buy too much
junk unless you have an absurd amount of cash with you. You can take the
risk of getting more animals if you want and you can also get rid of
your chickens if you feel like they are just a waste of your time. Your
crops are very important so make sure you water them everyday. Your girl
should also be getting near the pink heart and the elves should be
really good friends of yours.

Twentieth Day- Ship your crops if you have any. Get your animals inside
to keep them from getting harmed by a typhoon. Keep making money and
watering your crops. Chop more wood if you need to. Let me advise you
that there is an area in Moon Mountain that has a lot of wood on it,
this wood will disappear eventually after the carpenters build a bridge.

Twenty First Day- If you have enough money you can start looking for
treasures. Try fishing at the beach for a berry. You can also keep
making wishes to the fairy at the pond. Try buying anything that Rick
has to offer if you want. At least some of your animals should be adults
by now so keep making money from those and take real good care of the
young ones. Keep watching the weather channel if a typhoon hasn't
appeared yet.

Twenty Second Day- Forage, go fishing, sell stuff, do whatever you want
but keep making money. Keep visiting your girl and the elves. If you are
done then take a look around the town to see if there is anything going
on and bring Stu a present. You can also play with your dog if you want
and go scare Maria! Anyway, keep up the good work.

Twenty Third Day- You order to buy a greenhouse if you have the money
today. It is perfectly normal if you don't have money to buy it by now
but it's about time for you to get one. The greenhouse will save you a
lot of time and will make you rich beyond your dreams. Do not buy a
greenhouse if the typhoon hasn't appeared because it might destroy the
greenhouse. Keep working instead and don't let a day go by without
making money.

Twenty Fourth Day- Today will be your last day off before autumn
appears. Take care of your farm and go to beach as soon as you can to
participate in a swimming competition. This event is really easy to win
the first time but it gets a little bit harder every year. The price for
winning should be the "Invincible Katori." A little pig figure that is
supposed to protect your greenhouse from typhoons. The game is simple,
press the "A" button as fast as you can until your nerves pop out or
until you reach the finish line.

Twenty Fifth Day- Take care of the farm and check your mailbox if you
won the swimming race yesterday to get a picture added to your album.
Keep working and try to order the greenhouse before the end of summer.
Only buy the greenhouse if you have the money with you. Do not go sell a
cow to get the amount of money you need! You do not have to have a
greenhouse until mid autumn so take your time and work for money. Your
axe and your watering can should be at level three by now so use the
level up technique if have to.

Twenty Sixth Day- The typhoon should be gone now and you should also
have at least a cow and a sheep. Try to get better milk from your cow so
that you can win a price later on. You need to take extra good care of
your cow to get better milk. There are three sizes of milk and your goal
is to get milk that is labeled with an "L," or "Large Milk". Examine the
bottles if you are not sure of its size.

Twenty Seventh Day- Keep working if you don't have a greenhouse. Now, if
you do have a greenhouse then you should be low on money. What you must
do now is to get rid of your crops outside if you are sure you can't
make a profit from them anymore. Go foraging today and get money to buy
corn seeds before summer ends. If you have seeds then you can go ahead
and plant them inside the greenhouse and you can also take your time
since time does not go by indoors. Congratulations! Now is when the real
game begins! Your greenhouse will make you rich at least for the next
year.

Twenty Eight Day- Keep working if you do not have a greenhouse. Keep
foraging or fishing if you need money to buy corn seeds. Use your sickle
on your crops if you are sure that they will not grow again because
otherwise you will waste your time cutting them later. Do not plant
grass in your greenhouse unless you want it to look prettier. The reason
is because your cows and sheep have to grease outside.

Twenty Ninth Day- You should have a lot of money if you did not buy a
greenhouse. Keep saving until you get it. A greenhouse will give you a
lot of time to visit your friends and work on other activities. Keep on
fishing to get a nice comment at the end of the game. If your greenhouse
is ready then you can star looking for recipes and start thinking about
marrying!

Thirtieth Day- This is the last day of
