Right, well, lets just say I got really bored several times; first, it's 6
months until StarFox for the Game Cube comes out so I stole my nephiews Star
Fox 64. Then, after beating it a few times, I went out for all the medals and
at the moment, as I start writing this, I just failed to get the Sector X medal
because I forgot that you can't loss a team mate and I let the bossguy take
Slippy out ^.^;;; Where was I? Oh yeah, I'm bored with getting the medals for
myself and I noticed that, there isn't any FAQ in GameFAQs about getting them!
None of you think much of these medals do you?! So I minus well entertain
myself by typing one out. Lets see if I ever finish enough of this to actually
send it to GameFAQs :P Intro over... why did I type all this?... uh... Well,
it's a funny story actually, I kind of needed a help guide myself but couldn't
find one... What? ANYWHO!!!
Note; Permission is NOT required to post this FAQ, it's polite but not required
to even ask. All updates are sent to GameFAQs.com, however I don't actually
have an account on any other sites so updating is the responcability of the 3rd
party who posts it.

---UPDATE HISTORY--- (because everybody else makes one!)
-PRE-UPLOAD; Sometime between 2004 and 2005
Didn't upload it yet, dunno if I'll ever get past this entry.
-UPLOAD; Jan11 2005
Awh, my nephiew moved out and took his 64 with 'em. So I guess I'll just look
this over, fix some errors, fill in what I can and submit it for upload!
-UPDATE; Jan14 2005
Before I even noticed that my FAQ was accepted I found an e-mail from
Neoseeker.com asking permission to use it, that was nice of them, unessisary
but nice. So I added that pritty little "Note;" above the Index.
-UPDATE; Mar03 2005
THE HORROR!!! I got an e-mail today saying there was an error with my Faq,
fortunately it was just a reader noticing I had goofed up. Well, I double
checked and he was right ^.^;; *shamed!* I added him to the credits too.
Also; Some minor cosmetic and typo fixes, random error fixing, and tacklehugs.
-UPDATE; Mar13 2005
CURSE YOU PATRIC SHARP! Making me look really stupid T_T HOW could I mess up
on Katina?! My fav planet huh? *sigh* Fixed that and gave him more credit, or
less, depending on how you wanna look at it =3
Oh yeah, and I also added an 8th section to make the Index more accurate.
-UPDATE; April Fools Day 2005
Horray! I was e-mailed and given a really cool map pointing out the locations
of several rocks for Sector Z, that should make the HARDEST stage LOTS easyer!
I can't give him enough credit for this, THANK YOU itlnstln37!
Oh yeah, and somebody whined at me to do a spellcheck, I e-mailed him claiming
that I did it but I didn't. April Fools ^.^
-FINAL UPDATE; June20 2005
The final update ever! Yep I'm done with the FAQ, and I'm removing most of the
contact information. Interest in the Faq has FINALLY slowed to a near halt, so
I can deflate my ego to a healthier size and re-earn the respect of my friends
threw much appology. Hey thanks for reading! I love you all!
(also altered the terms of use, or whatever you wanna call it.)
Oh yeah, and thanks to all the complaining, there's STILL not going to be a
spellcheck update ^.^ Not now, not ever! This is the way I like it =3
---BASIC TIPS---
This is for the n00bs, if you arn't a n00b, you may not need to read this. This
gives general tips on how to get medals that apply to every stage. Wait, if
you're a n00b, why are you trying to get the medals already?!
1; One Shot, Three Shots; Didya know if you hold in A you fire 3 shots rapidly?
If you time it just right, you can tap A relatively slowly while shooting at
absolute maximum rapidfire. It's alot eazyer on your thumb too. Best way to
kill most things is with lazers. Hyper Lazers, in addition to being powerful,
kill things that you merely graze! Therefor with them you can eazily clear a
group with a sweep of lazerfire. but don't assume you'll have Hyper Lazers all
the time; you WILL need to aim eventually!
2; One Shot, Three Kills; Hold in A to power up a missile, then lock on and
fire at groups or formations of enemies. This tactic is actually hard to get
used to, because you need to get the right enemy the first time or waist 3
seconds re-charging. If you can't take out 2 or more enemies with your lock
(thus getting a point bonus) use your lazers instead. Picking the target to
lock onto when attacking formations takes practice, but it IS possable! It's
also important to pick which formations are worth attempting a missile, some
are eazyer (and more effective) to just shoot at.
Note: Charge shots are almost alwase referred to as "Missiles" in this Faq.
FOR EXPERTS: If you hold in R and Z with a missile charged you will NOT lock on
to enemies. Why is this helpful? If you shoot an enemy with a missile without
locking on you will get a bonus point! It takes lots of practice to use this
effectively. However, I doubt this will ever actually help you.
3; Use bombs wisely; Peppy's greatest advice. Stockpile your bombs until you
NEED them, I'll actually point out the best places to use them in the level
"walkthrew" but if you have enough then by all meens use them at your pleasure!
For example if you're about to pass a large group of enemies without killing
them, ACK! *Boom* (Tip; take a dive and nuke the ground!)
4: Learn to Aim; Unfortunately, the Hyper Lazer is powerful, fast, and has such
a high yeild that we rarely really need to aim! But what if you fail to get a
medal? You hit start and retry course, thus going back to the stage with 3
bombs and normal lazers. With that, you REALLY need to focus your fire on
enemies correctly or else they'll all escape! Injured, but not dead. 'Sweeping'
a basic lazer doesn't work on groups AT ALL.
5: Don't Loss an Ally!; If you don't complete the stage with ALL allies with
you, you can't get a medal. I also find it very very difficult to even complete
some stages if they arn't with you! So protect them at all costs, it's more
important to save a dying comrad then it is to blast that group of 3.... But if
you can do both, go for it.
6: Multi-Targeting; You can attack two enemies at once! Very effective for
groups and for doing the above mentioned saving an allie while still killing
that group of 3. Charge a missile, lock on, fire and forget it; start shooting
emediately at a different group of enemies. Be careful about ignoring your
missile too much though, if it leaves the screen it won't hit the target.
FOR TECHIES: Nothing off screen exists! The N64 isn't powerful enough to
moniter more then what shows up on screen. Apparently; objects in the radar
arn't actually there until you look at them. The game does this in the
background very well though, so you wouldn't notice unless you really
experiment with it. So just remember that Bombs and Missiles won't hit things
unless you can actually SEE it make impact!
Now, more on the experimentation thing, there's two ways this can actually
HELP you; First off, if you suddenly look at an enemy while his dot is flying
at that mountain, CRASH! Ever notice that? Enemies crashing into stationary
objects, cracks me up every time... And 2ndly, you can predict enemy altitude
and make "blind shots" as I call them, just start shooting and do a hard turn,
I do this on Katina alot, poor bill, so many of them are NOT enemies...
7: Stock up on 1-ups!; If you pass a stage in the hard route you'll get more
1-ups then if you pass it on the eazy route, so ALWASE go for the
"accomplished" and not just the "complete" when completing a stage, then use
start and "Change Course" on the map to go where you want. Doesn't cost you a
thing. You may need to kill yourself many many times to get a medal in a hard
stage, so you may end up needing all those lives.
8: Watch your score; Your score turns red when you've aquired a medal, but it
doesn't need to for you to get one. Why? BOSSGUYS! They give lots of points if
you slay them correctly! The WEAKER bosses generally give 11 points to kill
(HIT+10=11) If you know you won't make it, you can kill yourself at the boss
(Start, retry level) but make SURE the boss won't give you the medal before you
do! (I'll point out bossguy pointage in the "walkthrew")
9: Medals are not for beginners; Getting medals is hard, and killing yourself
to retry a stage puts you at a MAJOR disadvantage! So make sure you rock at
this game before you try. Don't get frustrated, just play to play ^.^ Play to
win, play to have fun (Star Fox 64 is a very fun game!) and remember this is
NOT a newbie walkthrew; I won't tell you how to beat Venom on the red course or
point out the location of all switches on Mecbeth.
*: Never give up, Trust your instincts!; Heh, furry game. Notice how the
animals are fighting the monkeys? XD Muahahaha, take that you philthy humans! I
meen, monkeys o.o;; HEY LOOK OVER THERE! *runs*
---LEVEL MEDAL WALKTHREW---
Level 1: Corneria
Medal Difficulty: Hard (150)
Walkthrew: The first stage is definately one of the hardest, because all the
enemies are widely spread out and, well, you'll probably be trying for this one
over and over... Which is ok because this is the one stage you'll ALWASE play!
All over the place there are groups of enemies sticking around buildings they
destroyed, use missiles on these as often as possable, but the stronger enemies
are where the points are. They give 4-6 points each! Play threw it just to find
all of them then again to kill them. You'll be zig-zagging threw this level
like nothing else, and even in the calm areas you can find if you zig-zag
enough, there's plenty of enemies to keep you busy!
Pay attention to the 2nd route as it gives you more points. You must save Falco
and then fly underneath all of the stone arches at the river. To save Falco,
it's eazyer to simply fire a bomb, don't boost or you'll pass some valuable
points, fire a bomb waaaaay out there (don't manually detonate it, the
auto-detonation is perfect!) and then shoot the enemies at the buildings you're
passing. As for the river, all those ski-ing enemies are 4 points, so find a
way to kill them all WITHOUT missing the arches, there's one waaay to the right
you'll need to be a hotshot to get. That, or have a missile ready when he gets
in range. If you do a flip at the first arch you'll get a little prize, don't,
save your power for breaking as needed.
It may be difficult, but considering this is the FIRST stage all you really
need to be is persistant. Run out of lives and you start right back here! So...
Ha, enjoy. XD Fun... x_x
-----
Level 2: Asteroid Field
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (200)
Walkthrew: Well, you shouldn't go for this medal right after you do Corneria,
you want to stockpile bombs for when you get here. There's a few key points of
focus and two ways to get the medal, other then that, kill all you can and
don't panic. This one is a sinch!
First, nuke all the asteroids! Lots of points there. Every time you meet a
bunch of breakable asteroids, drop a bomb and watch your score skyrocket.
When you reach the warp zone gates there's 2 paths you can take, if you're a
good pilot and have plenty of bombs left (4 or so), take the warp zone and bomb
all those colorful rocks. If you're a good shot and have few bombs, ignore the
warp zone and use the missiles to hit those huge groups of enemies (8 points 4
or 5 times if done correctly). Be sure not to lock onto those zigzagging
spiderweb maker things, as they'll ruin your shot.
Bossguy gives 11 points if you skip the warp zone. Hey, just for fun, try
fighting 'em in 1st person mode! Better yet, try to make the warp zone in first
person mode! XD I tried it, got 3 of the blue ring things! =3 Crazy.
RANDOM TIP: When you do spins in first person mode, controls are NOT relavent
to the angle of your ship! So if you try my challenge there, the best tip would
be for you to remember the course, and then do it blindfolded. Yet, the real fun
is in how absolutely ridiculously hard it looks, so I'll consider this CHEATING.
-----
Level 2: Sector Y
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (150)
Walkthrew: The whole Cornerian space fleet is under attack, you'd think they'd
be asking for more then 150 kills... But oh well, whatever. Keys to victory;
missiles kill mechs in 1 shot, destroy all components on a ship (if you can't
sweep them off quickly, use a bomb) and stay alert.
I repeat; if you're having a hard time shooting those fast mechs (you should
take each one out in 2 seconds TOPS) just shoot a homer at them, it'll kill it.
Seriously, no don't keep shooting at it, just let 'em die, he IS dying!
Hard to say what the most important part of the mission is when you're medal
hunting, but I'd hafta say it's the enemy ships. If you bomb ALL the parts off
then that's an eazy 6-8 points, and there's lots of them! Alwase have a bomb or
two ready. Then when your team flies past and joining formation would reward
you with a 1-up? Don't, just swing around shooting everything, lots of points,
you don't need that 1-up. Try not to kill your allies as they will be right
where you wanna shoot. Maybe use the breaks to get some distance from them.
Bossguy comes in a pack of 3 and has a grand total of 19 points. You'd think a
whole fleet would be more rewarding then this...
-----
Level 3: Fortuna, Enter Star Wolf
Medal Difficulty: Eazyest (50)
Walkthrew: As alwase when star wolf appears there's just one stratagy to win...
SPEED! Kill them fast. They give the most points if they die quickly.
Definately without a doubt the eaziest medal to get is this one, in fact,
you'll probably get it on accadent. I wouldn't be a bit surprized if you just
pass over this part cause you already have it. Star Wolf is slow and dies
quick, all you need is a hyper blaster and Wolf's cry of "I can't looooose!!"
is, well, it's just plain laughable. I meen really, if he thinks that amount of
flying skill will get him anywhere, he needs to stick to video games! ... ...
... Oh, playing them I meen, not being in them...
Makes you wonder how he gets so good so fast in Venom... hm...
-----
Level 3: Katina
Medal Difficulty: Hard (150)
Walkthrew: I just love this planits name! Katina, "Katina is battling the
enemy, will you help 'em out?" I just love to hear it. I love it's name, and
the atmosphere is nice too! And it's such a fun level... If I lived in the
Lylat system, I would be on planet Katina!
Ok, that overwith, the stratagy of this mission is to be sadistic. To be
totally honest, the enemies are more friendly to you then the allies are. Also,
it's eazyer to play this stage on a large screen tv... Smaller TVs just don't
do it...
Ok, now, being evil; every enemy killed by an allie is an enemy you didn't
kill! Although I do prefer not to shoot down allies, because enemies follow
allies, thus making them eazy to kill in mass. *shifty eyes* Secondly, when the
hatches open, let 'em. Don't kill the hatches, they may be 6 points each but
they add 5 or so enemies to the battle EACH time they open, and they open at
least 5 times durring the battle. Ignoring the hatches, each ally will soon
have 7+ enemies chasing them at once, a good hyper blaster sweep and there's
some nice fireworks, and then hey! Here comes 8 more!
Fly around and shoot enemies (and allies too if you want, poor Bill..) killing
as many as you can as quickly as you can, then keep shooting even after the
core opens! Kill only the fighters until you have enough points. Then turn on
the core and kill it. If you don't have enough points within 20 seconds of the
core being fully charged, restart.
Just to be complete; "Enough" is 139 kills, or 109 if you have time to maim the
hatches. I doubt you will though.
Bossguy gives 11 points, unless you go for the hatches! In which case, it gives
41 points. If you don't go for the hatches, it gives countless pointage (via
the fighters).
[edit] Whoa, 150? How could I mess up on my fav planet?! I'm so ashamed...
Thanks again to Pat Sharp for correcting me ^.^;;; Although I could swear I
only needed 100 last I played... Hm, oh well. Guide says 150, I won't argue.
-----
Level 3: Aquas
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (150)
Walkthrew: I alwase felt this level was a little out of place, what part of
galactic domination includes a giant clam? Oh well, the change of scenery is
kinda nice I guess.
You have unlimited missiles in this stage, take advantage of this! Practice
hitting both A and B rapidly and keep it up threw the intire stage. If you EVER
stop firing BOTH weapons you'll regret it! This makes it hard to control your
speed, but you won't need to very often.
Ok, so we got the basics down, fire all weapons at all times, that's the key.
You're gunna want to shoot everything and dodge as little as possable. If you
need to dodge, just do a spin to deflect it. In fact, add the R button to the
list, pound all 3 buttons endlessly. Kind of an endurence match, heh, pause if
you need to rest.
Bossguy is worth 11 points to kill, but if you kill the parasites ontop of him
you can add 12 to that (4 points each) So, yeah... He shoots globs of goo at
you... I just don't see how that would help a bunch of monkeys take over the
galaxy, unless of course it kills you, then the monkeys win... but in that
case, why are you attacking it in the first place?
-----
Level 4: Sector X
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (150)
Walkthrew: Early on, you'll be confronted with lots of enemies, LOTS OF THEM!!
Lock on and fire at one group then shoot at the other side, use bombs wisely
but if you have Hyper Lazers you shouldn't need them. Save a missile though as
you'll soon come upon a mine field; bomb it. They'll give you lots of points
and it might even save your life.
Moving on, you come into a weakly defended destroyed area of the base, zigzag
around and kill all those little drones, try not to crash into the moving
parts, the calm before the storm as they say.
You'll come to a fork guarded with 3 drones, if you kill all 3 there's a double
blaster upgrade in the last one to die, make sure you go RIGHT, not left; left
takes you to the warp zone and has very few enemies. In the right area you'll
discover the bases primary defences, so shoot like crazy; they never come in
groups so big you can't shoot them all with only your lazers, and you'll get
lots of points here. As alwase, don't let anything past you if you can help it.
Warp zone will not get you enough points for a medal.
The bossguy gives 11 points to kill, in order to get the medal though you need
to kill it QUICKLY! Taking too long it'll take Slippy out and you can't get a
medal without ALL of your allies.
-----
Level 4: Solar
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (100)
Walkthrew: This stage is kinda annoying, there is no tips to getting the medal!
Kill everything, EVERYTHING! Even the rocks waaaay back there... But no
stratagy, just be good and accurate and stuff... Oh yeah, and incase you didn't
know; using a bomb will level those large lava mounds, I think that's how
you're SUPPOSED to dodge the ones the boss makes, but a flip alwase worked for
me.
Only thing worth mentioning is to come here from Katina, that way if you need
to restart, Bill will come in and give you a double blaster right away! How
convinient is that?! Oh, and practice your sniping, you need to hit things
so far away that they're still only fading in.
Bossguy gives 11 points, and is one of the more interesting enemies to fight
but again I wonder, what the heck does it hafta do with galactic domination?!
Are they gunna build a heat proofe slingshot to send it to Corneria?... Maybe
you flew so close to this planet cause you were bored, that makes a little
sence I guess.
Fox: "I'm bored, lets go ring around the sun a few times. I'll bet I can fly
lower then you can!"
Falco: "You're on! Nobody can beat me in a game of chicken!"
-----
Level 4: Zoness
Medal Difficulty: Hard (250)
Walkthrew: I heard a rumor that if you touch the toxic water you take damage,
but no matter how far I sink I come right back up without taking damage... Hm...
Although you may get more enemies when you're spotted, you wanna go threw the
level destroying all the searchlights -without- being noticed by them. They
give 3 points if you're still stealthy, and only 1 after you've been located,
so the extra enemies won't make up for how much you'll loss.
As alwase, destroy all enemies and don't let anything past you. All boxes and
misc things you can blow up will give you points, so you're not just passing
threw to kill the bossguy. You could just as eazily fly past the planet without
going to the surface if that was the case. So your mission is to bomb the
enemy. And by bomb, I meen bomb! Not the ships, you can kill their cargo eazy
enough, but you'll find raised platforms with lots of boxes sometimes, bomb 'em
and watch the fireworks. My favorate one is the first on the right, ships fly
off that one and everything, the explosion is fantastic!
Best tactic in this stage; practice makes perfect. This is one you might end up
playing over and over again.. Remember where the enemies come and when and be
ready for them. When you're done, bossguy gives 11 points, make sure you have 9
bombs when you finish him off. If you go to Mecbeth you'll really enjoy having
them!
-----
Level 5: Titania, Arid Desert
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (150)
Walkthrew: The hardest part of this medal is getting used to the Landmaster.
It's hard to drive that thing! And all these hills make it even harder to aim!
But, the boost and hover is ALOT more flexable then the arwing so you can do
some pritty neat stunts with it too.
This stage isn't hard once you realize how many bombs it gives you, and there's
so many gold rings to have that you'll get all the extra lives you could ever
need! Use missiles more then anything else, enemies almost alwase come in
groups and missiles almost never miss.
Well, that's all I can really say about this stage, get used to the landmaster
and use missiles and bombs freely. And enjoy yourself out there! This is a fun
level ^.^
Bossguy gives 11 points and is nothing too noteworthy.
Note; your score won't turn red until Slippy rejoins you at the bossguy
-----
Level 5: Mecbeth, the Forever Train
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (150)
Walkthrew: Bossguy gives almost all the points in this stage, because he's
there at the very beginning! You wanna take out as much of the train as
possable, use the brakes at the start so you can blast the cannon on the rear
then fire at will at whatever part is closest to you.
When you engage ships, use only the lock on missiles. They're hard to hit with
the blaster so, don't waist your time trying. If you have all those bombs from
Zoness' bossguy then you can just take 'em out with those and, hey, use 'em on
the train too. I meen don't get trigger happy, some parts are eaziest to
destroy with your cannon. But it's kinda fun to kill it with bombs too...
The engine car gives 51 points... what?! Wow! But you hafta kill it a certain
way, NOT by killing the kite-bot. Peppy will inform you to shoot all 8
switches, at this time you'll be coming up to a wall; turn right and go under
the elevated section, don't follow the tracks. This'll line you up with the
first switch, hit it, then start to zigzag for the rest. Remember, the switches
come on both sides of the tracks! (only one or two on the left side though) You
wanna spot them from a distance. One of them is hiding behind one of those
doors you need to shoot to lift, a couple are behind those walls you can shoot
down, but most are just lingering to the side of the tracks.
If you hit them all, Peppy will then tell you "Ok, now, shoot the switcher!"
it's that shiney blue billboard up there. Shoot it and a huge lever will come
up, shoot that and the tracks will switch directions, thus redirecting the
train down a blocked track to crash into the enemy weapons factory.
KABOOOOOOM!!!! ... What the heck were they thinking with that gigantic lever?
What other then a tank could even use it?
If you came here looking for spicifics on where the switches are, you're
reading the wrong FAQ. This is for tips on getting medals! Not tips on beating
the levels.
-----
Level 5: Sector Z
Medal Difficulty: HARDEST (100)
Walkthrew: That's right, out of all the stages, this will likely be the last
medal you get. You absolutely need to hit EVERY SINGLE ENEMY to get the medal!
Well, maybe I'm exagerating, but if I am, it's not by much.
First off, play threw the game JUST for this stage, it makes it eazyer. Gather
all the extra lives you can and make sure you reach it with hyper blasters,
because you reeeally wanna get lucky and beat it the first time x.x It's not
very fun when you loose that special blaster... Avoid Katt, take the warp
portal in Sector X to bypass her level, it's very unlikely you'll get the medal
if Katt comes to join you.
Secondly, probably the most important piece of advice here is to ignore your
allies. They get in your way in this stage, they steal your kills, they kill
your missiles, and they ask for help when they never really need it. Serious, I
ignored all 3 of them the entire level and none of them took a hit. It's kinda
sad really, "Fox help me! There's a spider in my cockpit!" O.o;;; But in any
event, they will get a number of enemy ships following them and with a well
placed missile, 3 points! Just ignore them until they become convinient.
Remember, you need all 3 of them ALIVE to get the medal! And although the
temptation may be strong, wait until the next level to kill them. Might I
suggest changing course to Bolse? That way you can slaughter them without
putting yourself at a disadvantage. >=D You can't emagin how painful it is to
have 92 points, and shooting the last enemy missile only to hear Slippy go "I
got one!" x.x Well, you probably will actually... Don't say I didn't warn you!
You'll get a while to fight the mob between missile attacks, make good use of
this and don't appologize for stealing your allies kills. Everything they kill
is something you didn't, remember that. The missiles come in groups of one,
then two, then three. You MUST destroy all 6, if one of your teammates kills
one you minus well restart the level right there, because they're worth 11
points EACH. You will not be able to make that up by killing 11 ships, the
enemies arn't that numerous.
Oh yeah, one last thing. If you end up restarting the level (you probably will)
with normal lazers, one of the enemies in the 1st wave drops a double blaster.
So make sure you watch what they drop until you find it, it REALLY helps.
UPDATE; Scattered around the level are 5 (or more) rocks, some hidden, some
just floating in place; they give a very easy 3 points each! Don't miss 'em!!!
The first is eazy to find, press start to skip the intro (it'll change your
starting position) and fly straight over the GreatFox, can't miss it. The rest,
eh, you'll hafta use a map. I drew one below.
SUPER ULTRA THANKFUL SPECIAL THANKS to itlnstln37 for the info ^.^

Apparently, somebody started mining a few of these point-rich asteroids. You
can find them by charging a missile and locking on, but they're protected in
crude boxes so you might not be able to shoot them easily.
*points up* Those 5 asteroids are 3 points each to destroy, dun miss 'em! The
guy who found 'em for me (itlnstln37) reports he beat the level with 113 points
using these. That's enough to let Slippy take a missile out! OMG!!
-----
Level 6: Bolse Defence Satilite
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (150)
Walkthrew: You need to prepare ahead of time for this medal, otherwise it's
impossable. You must eather avoid Star Wolf, or let them win without killing
them. If they're alive, they'll attack you here. You want to get all 4 of them
here, they'll attack once the shield's down and you can proceed to slaughtering
them in the fastest way emaginable. They give you lots of points, then blast
the core. Ignore the fighters unless you need to save an ally.
The key to this mission is, after the planning of course, SPEED! The faster you
kill the core/Star Wolf the more points they'll give you. And if you're fast
enough, you'll get the medal real eazy. Bombs work great on the core if you
have alot of them (3 or 4), and remember that one of the targets is hiding down
low in the dangerous looking rubble.
[edit] Thanks to Patric Sharp for fixing the number of kills needed. My bad...
-----
Level 6: Area 6
Medal Difficulty: Eazy (300)
Walkthrew: OH! I finally figured out what's up with this areas name, lol. Level
6, Area 6, ok ok, here we go. Prepare for a fast paced button mashing
spactacular if you want the medal here, because enemies will come from
everywhere and I strongly descourage the use of bombs. Make sure Peppy has good
shielding when you arrive.
Skill is all you need here, and severel bombs. DON'T USE THEM (unless you have
over 6 of course) because at the end, you can get lots of points by mearly
nuking the huge battleships. Also, use 2 bombs on the minefield, lots of points
come from those. Also use a bomb to save Peppy, because it's hard to do with
just lazers. Finally, those, things, saucers with spikes on both ends, 4 points
each, kill 'em, as many as you can but don't sweat it when you miss a few; it
IS possable to kill them quickly with a single basic lazer.
Soooo... Only important thing is to PWN everything, this medal is kinda eazy!
Unless you suck... you don't suck do you?!
That's all there is to say about this level. Bossguy gives 11 points. Don't
suck...

Level 7: Venom
Medal Difficulty: Hard (200)
Walkthrew: You MUST take the red path to get the medal here, dispite the
thousends of fighters you seem to fight in the eazy path you just can't get it
that way! If you do, e-mail me with how and I'll probably shower you with
praise and die of a heart attack or something, you can attend my funeral, I'll
leave you something nice in my will. ;)
Secret is, to slay Star Wolf quickly. I recommend you have hyper blasters and
all your allies here, (lol duh! You need them anyway) this stage is SUPER HARD
when you don't have all your allies because you NEED your allies to act as
decoys for you to be able to sneak up on the enemy. Practice extreme accuracy
here because if a shot zips past them they'll take evasive manuvers. (If you're
lucky enough to stay on them after they flip out of the way, yay!) If you're
fast enough, it's 50 points each! Not including the points you get for the
brain... Good Luck!!
I'm not sure if defeating the brain quickly will give you more points then just
plain defeating it, but here's a helpful strat on killing him: First off, you
gotta kill the eyes, eazy pants right? Then you gotta sneak up behind him to
hit the purple part of his brain... Not eazy... There is an effective tactic
though! Just charge in and shoot him from any angle, he'll giggle and teleport.
But you're one step ahead of him! Do a U-Turn the instant he giggles and he'll
reappear RIGHT infront of you.. with his back turned!!! Then when you get too
close, just shoot the bulk of his brain again to make him giggle and teleport.
BONUS: For getting the medal here, you gain the ability to use the Landmaster
Tank in multiplayer mode!
-----EXPERT MODE-----
Congradulations! You did it! Most people never make it this far.
Suddenly Star Fox 64 transforms from an arcade style shoot-em-up, to a flight
sim where you're some crazy hero! The change is so dramatic you'll find
yourself sucked into the action and unable to escape it's grasp. It focuses on
a realistic difficulty now, shields no longer protect you from solid objects,
crashing into ANYTHING can be extremely hazerdous if not instantly fatel, and
the enemies attack with a vengence!! It's no wonder General Pepper's army was
defeated. Best yet, when you reach Venom (eazy), the enemy army is huge.
Absolutely huge, and they're ALL shooting at you! Who's idea was it again to
send FOUR ships against a huge evil empire?!

-----Hey, who actually uses the index anyway?-----
If you thought you'd find anything here, you take the Index waaaay too
seriously. ^.^ But just for the heck of it, I'll answer the question: The
index in faqs was invented sometime back in 1002BC where the first ultra long
faq was written. It was a royal pain to look threw for the part you wanted to
read! So he added little markers around the faq and wrote a list of all of
them. From then on, people could simply press ctrl+F and type in the part
they want to read, as seen in the index. It was a major breakthrew, he was
awarded the Congrational Medal of Honor and was made into a giant statue of
himself in a toga, holding a torch and his FAQ in book form. Ages past, and
threw mild erosion and trade he eventually became the Statue of Liberty.
So, who's the Statue of Liberty? Nobody knows, his faq was destroyed back in
1690 when the aliens invaded, along with all records of it ever existing when
the Equil Opertunity Employment law resulted in GameFAQs being run by
monkeys. They were soon fired.
Disclaimer: The funny story above does not nessisarily represent the oppinions
of this FAQ's creator. I do not assume GameFAQs is currently run by monkeys.
