"Pathetic"

Hey my 2nd review(and this line has gottten old already)

GRAPHICS: They're So so. Unmatched by any other fighting game on n64...yes there are such things as fighters on n64. The 3d background look great but the 2d rendered characters....ugh. They're blurry and they animate horribly.

SOUND: This game has one of the best soundtracks ever!....on n64. Seriously though it's a mixed bag here. Some of the music is great, the rest is crap. Same goes for the voices.

CONTROL: It's good. You can use both the d-pad and the stick, but the d-pad is easier. The only gripe I have are some STRANGE button inputs to do special moves.

GAMEPLAY: This is the only area where KI gold really sucks and guess what? It's the only area that matters! You might want to sit down for this coz it'll take a while.

The combo system is really tedious, it's auto-double, linker, auto-double, linker...And all characters seem to have the same exact combos and they all seem to do the same exact damage.

What's even more screwed up is the counter system. Instead of other fighters where whichever moves comes out first wins, KI has this stupid thing where one move will counter another NO MATTER WHAT. This makes every human vs human match a boring defensive game. And combo breakers don't help this either.

Notice I said human vs human. Against the Godlike AI a match goes something like this: ''Block for a minute, hit them once, block more...''

The game has ''super moves''. They eat up LOTS of your super bar and they all seem to do wimpy damage. The game has this total lack of flashy-ness, hell even 3d fighters have better special effects than this(well at least the old ones).

The characters suck...well execpt for two. Combo is the dirtiest fighter I've seen in a game(hell he even carries a sub-machinegun) and glacius is one of the coolest ever. But that's probably the only redeeming thing here.

OVERALL: Bad. If you want a good fighting game, buy a playstation(not that I hate the n64...just the games) or If you can't get a psx and HAVE to get an n64 fighter pick up...well...I can't help you there.
