"This game has been quite unfairly rated."

Intro- Okay, so this game had some, okay lots of glitches. But so what? Are you telling me XBox games don't have glitches? What about sony games? Many games have glitches, this game just has a lot. The primary reason for this was because it was rushed. The producers rushed it so it would be released on time for the Holiday rush. That is my excuse for liking this game.

Story-

You are a 9 or so year old boy(or a really short teenager), that finds out that the Eletale book has been stolen. The eletale book has all the magical power in the world. And your dad has been gone for months trying to retrieve it. So you must go out and save him, and retrieve the Eletale book. Spirit tamers find spirits and tame them so that they can use them for magic.

Storyline 4/10- This was terrible. The storyline was the worst part of this whole game. Your dad is an expert spirit tamer, and he is captured or maybe killed...why don't we send a 9 year old? Definitely not logical. And there are no sidequests, except to maximize your stats and your spells. And the only way you can make this game harder is to force yourself to use only one or two elements. That explains this score.

Graphics 6/10- Okay, so the graphics were not that great either. You could walk threw trees, and force the camera into a wall, definitely not something that good graphics have. However, the spells were well designed, and the 3D rendering was good, not perfect, but good.

Sound 8/10- The sound in here was very good, the music was catchy, despite the fact that it did get on your nerves after a while. But the music was not much WORSE than common classical music. The thunk you got when you smacked a monster on the head was always comical, and that was good. The sound of spells however left something to be desired.

Gameplay *10/10*- superb! This was great. The gameplay threw Mario 64 in the dust. You would level up your stats according to what you did. Like if you were hurt, your defense and HP would go up, and if you physically attacked someone your HP would go up. And using magic raised your MP level. If you dodged an attack your Agility would raise, making more attacks "MISS". Also doing a lot of running in the game would also raise your Agility.

Battle design *10/10*- Also superb. In battle there is a large octagon, this is the battle field. Everyone that is on the battle field has a much smaller Octagon as well. You are always in the middle of your octagon, and if you move close to the enemy, that takes your turn, and on the next turn the octagon of yours has moved to where you were. In one turn, you can move freely within your octagon, as much as you want, whenever you do an attack or a defensive spell your turn ends. Or if you press the A button you will end your turn, just in case you can't attack the enemy.

World design 9/10- The world is so vast! There are so many different locations. You start in one area, then go threw a forest that leads to another, which leads to a dock that takes you to another continent! In total there are three continents with three or four areas in total. The first continent has FOUR places! Everything is SO in depth. There is always an explanation for how you get somewhere, whether it be magic or a secret passageway. Sometimes in this game you can encounter people that hint that the game may have originally had sidequests. How many sidequests? The world may never know...

Difficulty 7/10- This game had a good difficulty, if you were not an expert at video games, then you could still beat it. If your WERE an expert at video games, you could make it harder by limiting what you will use or get. The greatest thing about this game is that it is always easier or harder depending on what kind of brian you make.

Controls 9/10- Very easy controls. These were easy to use, and made the game very fun. I mean who wants a game that is hard ONLY because you can't master the controls? The A button was the action button while the B buttun was the Cancel button. You would move with the analog stick, and select your spells with the C button. B would also make your guy face forward. The controls made the game funner and simpler. Of course L and R would make the camera change.

Rent or Buy- I definitely say buy, you can get it for 5 bucks, and it is an awesome game. You will thoroughly enjoy yourself, I am sure...unless you are gonna compare this game to a modern game... But I am sure you will love it...

Final score 7.9/10- This game had a lot to offer, and was fun despite it's incompletion. If you like RPGs then this game would be awesome for you. Not nearly as in depth of a storyline as FFVII, but hey, it was as good a storyline as any N64 game•
