All-Star Baseball 2001
Review by theiconbrad
"The best baseball game ever made!!!!"
Summery-
This game is the best baseball game ever created. All-Star Baseball is extremely easy to control and easy to set up games.Strongly recommended for
downloading/importing.
-Control/Gameplay-
If you have ever played All-Star Baseball 2000 or 99' the controls are the same as those. If not it is very easy to catch on and become a master as much players are. The game is the best for baseball I have ever seen. They pay attention to detail; in the fact of Sammy Sosa does his little hop after he hits a home run, and they have Tim Wakefield's interesting wined-up. This game also has a Cooperstown team, including Nolan Ryan, and Reggie Jackson.
One of the new features from last years game is the batting practice option. Returning now better than ever is the home run derby. Also I have never seen such a good player create than this. It allows you to have anybody's batting stance, plus about 30 more original stances. This game has excellent game.

-Music/Sound-
Well considering it is a baseball game there really isn't any music, accept for the start up music, which is ok I guess. The sound though is outstanding. The crack of the bat, the thud of a ball beaming a batter in the back and the crowd's cheer after a player hits one into the stands are all as realistic as it gets. Once again the play-by-play is great. Game has real nice sound effects.
Rating-9/10
-Storyline/Replay Value-
Once again this being a sports game there is no real storyline. As for replay value, there is a ton of it. Quite obviously you can play expedients as much as you want. Also there is a season play option in which you can select from 13,81,100,162 games; which keeps you coming back for more. If you do not wish to play all those games to get to the playoff's you are not obliged to. There is also a playoff mode, where you can pick the teams you want to compete with in the playoff's. Also this game has the best draft availability ever. Unlike Previous years you cannot choose your slot in the draft, which makes it much more interesting.
Rating-10+/10
-Graphics/Challenge-
Definitely the best graphics you will find for a baseball game. This game consists of over 300 bating stances of all the big league players. When there show clips of the players faces you can make them out without looking on the back of there jersey, that's how good the graphics are. As for the challenge they give you the option of rookie, pro, or All-Star. This is the only place the game really slips up. The challenge of the game even on All-Star is quite easy. It's as if every single time you play the game you win by more and more, not I'm not saying the first time you play the game your going be an expert, but soon after you will begin winning games by 12 and 13 runs.
Rating-8/10
-Overall-
Definitely one of the best games ever made, top to bottom this is a great game. If your a baseball fan, I definitely recommend you add this to your collection.
