Welcome to my Diddy Kong racing review. This is a racing game and you have to come 1st in every level to progress until you get up to the evil boss Wiz pig. Instead of Donkey Kong being the Hero it is his younger brother Diddy Kong who stars in this game. When Wiz pig caused the chaos Diddy and his friends race across the island to collect balloons and trophy pieces which then lets you to vs Wiz pig later in the game and beat him to finish the game. Their are many challenges in the game including bonus levels, defeating the leader of a world and collecting the silver balloons. Some of your friends which help you through out the game are T.T the clock and the Genie.

The graphics are good because it has no blurry scenes or no 2d scenes. The 2d and blurry scenes make the game bad because it is boring and the best part of the graphics are it does not have any parts which looks like your on a stage or the background is dark and does not look good. The colour use of this game is good because it stands out and is shiny which catches your eye and it is stands out when you are far away from the picture.

The game play was the best part of Diddy Kong Racing because it is fun and addictive when you play this game. Their are many hard races to do and some races there are keys you collect to unlock the bonus level for the world. The bonus levels are to either collect eggs and protect them until they hatch, to hit your opponents until they lose their lives and to collect bananas then deposit them to your bank to win. The races are fun because there can be Adventurous levels, challenging levels and boring Easy levels. The challenging levels are ones with obstacles in the way and when you collect the Nintendo coins some can be on curves which make you miss them then you wait until the next lap to get them. The boring Easy levels are ones with the short and less challenging parts because it can get too Easy and you can overlap your opponents and when you collect the Silver coins in some levels they can be obtained in the 1st lap. The Adventurous levels are long have boosts which take you to a certain place and ones when you hit your opponents then you overtake them to win and come 1st.

The Music is very catchy in this game because Rare have taken the time to put in the cool parts and take off the bad parts. The Sound is also clear and loud enough to hear from wherever you are in the room of the game.

Rent or Buy:
I recommend to rent this game first because for some people it can be a bit too cartoon-ish but if you like this game very much then I say to buy this game from your closest game shop.

Overall Diddy Kong racing for the Nintendo 64 is a fun, challenging and non-stop game and must be obtained in any way possible. The only part for improvement is to make the game less kiddy and more realistic. So to finish this review Diddy Kong Racing is a racing genre and is very fun and entertaining to any person who like the Donkey Kong series and to the people who like Mario Kart 64 because this game is the same thing.
