Pokemon Stadium
Review by MasterReviewer
"A game that was highly-anticipated by PokeFans, but sadly, it does not live up to the hype."
Pokemon Stadium is HERE! Finally, after all the anticipation we get the game here in America. However, after playing the game throughly, I was sadly disappointed. The game was not...FUN! The main key to a game is being FUN! Duh! Some elements were OK, but, they did not save this game. The Game Boy Transfer Pak helped out the game a little, being able to see your Pokemon in 3D and all, but after a while, So what? Fight in tournaments and win? The game doesn't offer enough features to PokeFans that they will enjoy it. To me I only found it amusing with a few friends. However two can only battle at one time!
Graphics 9/10
The graphics were good as promised, although there was a significant amout of draw in on the pokemon, which were due to a bad use of polygons.
Gameplay 6/10
The Gameplay was not amusing. I mean couldn't they at least improved the battle system at all? The battle system is still turn-based and there is really no strategy to it! If you use all your pokemon and they are at lvl 100..You can basically beat any Computer's Pokemon in one hit. Too easy, and way too boring gameplay really hurts this game.
Sound/Music 4/10
The same dumb, repetitive Pokemon music that was in the Game Boy game. I would highly reccommend muting your TV! But, the most annoying part of the game is the SOUND! That ''play-by-play'' announcer talks almost every minute with the most corniest catch-phrases! Plus his voice is just annoying. If you are thinking about an attack he will go, ''The Trainer has not issued a command'' then a few seconds later, ''What's the Matter, Trainer?'' and keep doing that over and over again that you will just want to tell him, Shut the hell up!
Control 9/10
The control is confusing. The on-screen commands don't really explain it that well, but you can get used it to after a while playing it.
Replay Value 7/10
Playing this game is not likely unless you are with friends. Even that's not any fun! This game is just not fun, one player, or even multi-player. The only good thing about it is it come equipped with Game Boy Transfer Pak!
Overall 6/10
I did not enjoy this game and was very disappointed with it. I bought it and I am regretting I shelled out 60 bucks for it when I could of rented it for at least 15 bucks at BlockBuster. The morale here Pokefans is, Rent...DON'T BUY!
