"Somebody please tell me why I like this game"

I've done it with NBA Jam. I did it again with NBA Jam TE. And now the same thing comes to the 64. And I can't stop playing it. It's almost identical to the Jam games but I still love it. I don't get it.

Graphics: 4
No. That's the word you can use to describe the graphics. No. They aren't good. They aren't even good for a first generation title. The players are sprites, and audience is boring. You can recognize the player by their face but that's about the only plus. Other than that there is nothing.

Sound: 6
The background music consists of some crappy midi-sounding file that plays over and over. The announcer gets pretty annoying but I've only found a handful of games that has a good announcer. There is one thing that saves this game. The rap that comes on at halftime. I always find myself doing it along with the guy (M Doc I think). It's great and boosts this score by about 2 points.

Replay Value: 10
This game is great even when you're alone. Sure the computer cheats but that makes you want to beat them even more. But this game shines in multiplayer. When you have 4 people all around the T.V. playing this game it's the best. You can keep playing to beat all 29 NBA teams, you can just try to boost your stats, or you can make your own character as strong as can be. It's all here.

Final Synopsis: Bad Graphics + Bad Sound = Bad Game. Right? Wrong. This game is so much fun it's almost sick. Even with Perfect Dark's release I still come back to this one. I got it for $12 and would pay twice as much for it.
