Review by Dave 008 Bond

"This game is so good it made my brother skate."

Introduction
What can I say? This game makes me so proud of my Nintendo 64 and is worth a rental. You can't go wrong with this baby, and on to my review.

Graphics 9/10
For any video game, this is good. The skate parks look better than the ones in real life, (I'm serious).
You can easily recognise a move. The skaters look pretty good, exept Tony Hawk's helmet appears to be the same color as his skin, and everyone's faces are a little too blurry. But how could I forget the best part, failing to land a move! If you screw up a trick, you get to see a great looking mess-up! You can fail a back-flip and land on the top of your head, land a 900 upside down, (ow), slam into a pole, etcetera. Overall these graphics are candy to your eyes.

Story N/A
It is a skating game, it does not have a story.

Sound 10/10
This is the best you can get for a Nintendo 64. All the sounds are what you should expect from a skating game. There are sounds like the wheels starting to move, grinding on a pole, jumping, and shrieks of pain when you fail to land a move : ). But the music is just sweet. You get great punk songs that actually have lyrics! Overall this sound cannot be beat.

Gameplay 10/10
But of course the game could be pretty and sound good, and the game is no fun to play. But I will have to correct the error of your ways if you think that. It is a skating game, so that automatically means you have a variety of sweet moves. And the skate park was designed for maximum amount of fun, and that won't hurt. The ramps let you get as much air as you need to perform all those nice tricks. And of course, no skating game is complete without the grinding poles. You can stand on these and get a lot of points. Cram all this together and you have a great time.

Control 8/10
The control is a work of art. It is kind of hard to describe so I will have to tell you this: It works. However, it takes about five minutes to learn. But when you do learn it it is very comfortable.

Replay Value 7/10
It has a Muli-player mode which unfortunately only goes up to two players. The crashes will also keep you coming back for more.

Challenge 6/10
Ok, I must admit the Career mode is too easy. But the rest of the game makes up for it!

Buy or Rent?
Rent first, than think about buying it. It sure is fun, yeah, but you should try it first.

Overall 10/10
This game is good. It is so good, it drove my brother to skating! After seeing some of those awesome crashes, I wouldn't even think about riding one of those crazy machines called skateboards. And that's a good thing.
