Xena: Warrior Princess - The Talisman of Fate

Review by joeyissoweird

"Joxer Wins! Wait.. What?!"

I've watched Xena with my mom as a child, and my mom is a big Xena fan. So she got this game for me to play, and I enjoyed it. Now, I'm playing it again! I still enjoy it! The only thing I hate about this game is that Joxer is actually strong! But, whatever. I do hate other things about this game but nothing big.

Graphics 10/10
It's fun to see Xena on a video game console. Looks great! Nothing really wrong about the graphics.. Although, it's not really what you should call 3d, the graphics don't need much to be fixed. Despair looks very nice. Just look at him! Amazing! That's on a N64? I believe it is.

Gameplay 10/10
This is where things go great. I basically just use a cheat code a lot to unlock Despair, and then I beat the game in about five minutes. But you don't have to do that. And you don't have to unlock Despair in a bunny suit. You can play as many characters from the Xena: Warrior Princess series. You start by fighting the easiest, then you go kick the red horns of Despair. Does he have horns? Whatever.

Characters do have their own special attacks. They're pretty neat. Xena can use her chakram, and Gods can use their blasting powers. Despair can throw a big boulder at someone. Very neat! What I do dislike is what you have to do to use them. They're basically cheats.

Plot 3/10
I absolutely hate the plot. You basically just fight for the Talisman of Fate. So you have to fight to get the fate of the worlds in your hands or something. I dislike it. Fighting games don't need plots, but yet some do. But for this fighting game about Xena to have one, just don't seem right. It is kind of a great attempt by the game developers. Nice try. I don't hate the plot that much, though.

Sound 10/10
I really enjoy the sound. The worlds have different sounds. You hear music from Xena's hometown or such, probably even the theme. You hear that chanting you hear a lot in Xena, which I have no clue what the hell they are saying.

Overall 9/10
This is a pretty great game. If you are a fan of the Xena series, I really think you should get it. Xena, come back for another season!
