Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

"A great game for the Nintendo 64!!!"

This is an excellent game for the Nintendo 64, really addictive.

Graphics 8/10

-The graphics are pretty amazing, especially with the expansion pack! The Terrain detail is very excellent, but the look of the characters brought it down a tad, even though the polygons are great with their textures, the faces are still quite blurry. Either way, the graphics look great!

Sound 10/10

-I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS OUT OF A N64 GAME! The sounds are awesome as you can hear the skateboard wheels rolling across different terrains, every terrain make a different and realistic sound! The music is awesome! why? Because the songs are catchy and include LYRICS! Not many N64 games have lyric music, and the better part is that their is 8 different songs, not just 2 or 1! This game is a good example of what the N64 can really do with sound.

Controls 7.5/10

-This is my opinion on the weakness of the game. The control setup is nice, but the problem isn't the controller, it is the GAME, the player does not always react to certain moves all of the time, it usually happens when trying to go up a ramp, if you tell the player to go up a ramp, he usually does a trick instead and turns to go the opposite way you want him to, this can be a big problem on some levels of the game, sometimes to a point that you start cursing at it.

Gameplay 8.7/10

-Could have been perfect but of course no game is perfect. This game lacked 2 things on this part. One, the career mode gets too hard by the time the third level comes in and it seems impossible to beat some of the parts of the level. Secondly, the N64 is a party machine with 4 controller ports, yet, the game only has up to 2 player, which is really disappointing, then again it might have been the only way to keep the framerate up without lowering the graphics.

Story N/A

-Not really any story, just skate around and achieve and find VHS tapes to unlock levels, heck if I know why.

Replayability 9/10

-99% of you people will probably go back to play this game after beating the entire thing, this game is so fun and addictive, even if it is about 9 years old, your friend and yourself will find it very addictive and exciting! Oh, and did I tell you that your skateboard can be customized? You and your friend can pretend to be their own player by making their own board, this is a really good replayability feature! The replayability is not as good if you are replaying it alone, but is still extremely fun.

Overall 8/10

-If you ever see this game, get it at all costs, I may not be a skateboarding fan, but this game rules! The game is one of the awesome ones for the Nintendo 64!
