007: The World is Not Enough
Review by Chrisschulz25
"Another Bond Mission to Complete!"
Introduction: "The name's Bond... James Bond." His famous quote will take you into this game. When I was finishing up the challenges in GoldenEye 007, I figured I need to buy another Bond game on the Nintendo 64. So I decided to buy The World Is Not Enough online for a Christmas gift. I played through it and I thought it was a bad start so I didn't play it for a while. But once I started getting into it and I started completing levels, I thought to myself, "I'm going to think twice about this game." In my opinion this game would be great if you have some friends over, ordered some Round Table Pizza and had a couple of beers and play this game, you will have a blast. I will tell you why.
Gameplay: 9/10 The game play for this game is passing to me. The missions may seem similar to GoldenEye's but it is very different. The missions are more complex and survival is harder. When you are on 00 Agent, auto aim is OFF. It takes skill and survival to get through the 00 Agent levels. Just like GoldenEye, the levels have rewards if you complete the level fast enough just like in GoldenEye or Perfect Dark. But in this game, it is much more difficult. You can barely complete the mission and the required time to get the prize. But you shouldn't really let that stop you unless you are hardcore.
Controls:8/10 Now, if you played GoldenEye and want to play this game and expect it to be almost the same, well, don't count on it here. The World is Not Enough game controls are somewhat the same, but the response on this game is slower than GoldenEye's. The AI's react faster and you react slower. In GoldenEye it's vice versa. You could crouch in GoldenEye but you couldn't jump. In this game, you can jump. But here's the downside: It's not much use. Only to jump over crates and obstacles or jump down from a building. But overall, the controls are great.
Graphics 7/10: The graphics are not essentially perfect, but they look okay. It's a little bit better than GoldenEye's. The characters look almost like the movie though.
Sound/Music:6/10: Here's the down side. The sound. Yes. The good ol' sound is not so great in this game. There is almost no Bond theme in this game. That's where I was upset. But they actually added voice on here. (yay!) But I have to admit, the voice who does Bond, does NOT sound like Pierce Brosnan. M's voice was bad too. But it's hard to put a voice on a system like this. I could give EA some slack.
Overall: A great game to most people. To me, it's hard to tell if this game is really worth the money. If you love James Bond, go for it. If not, you can just watch the movie instead.
