Super Smash Bros.

"A Classic For The Ages"
A Small Cartridge That Launched A Franchise!
Would you believe that? Well, it's true, it launched a franchise for the future. Like the successfully smash sequel Super Smash Bros. Melee in 2001 and the legendary 2008 hit, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
WARNING: These games are very addictive and very fun
Introduction:
If your wondering right now thinking, which Nintendo characters would win in a fight??
Then, heres your chance to find out!
Super Smash Bros. is a fighting two dimensional game, where you have to knock your opponent off the stage. Instead of health or hitpoints you have damage percentage. The higher damage percentage, the easier the character is to knock off the stage. Characters in this game are the basic Nintendo characters. This game is the first of the Super Smash Bros. series, released in 1999, created by HAL.
Gameplay:
Now right to the main event! When you battle, you get to beat up your opponent any way you want! If you want to use powerful punch or quick punches, you can! Items can hurt or help you in gameplay, especially stage interactions. Stage interactions are built from environment to make a stage not just a normal fighting stage.
Like an example is that from Saffron City a building that you walk near and a pokemon will appear. That Pokemon will either hurt you or help you. Another example is from Sector Z that ships will fly by and either blast you or blast your opponent. Each player has a percentage of how much damage they taken. If you keep attacking a player there percentage will rise. The higher the number, the further they will be flying offstage.
When you get used to this, try setting the difficulty level higher than it used to be. The difficulty level ranges from level 1, which is beginners, to level 9, which is expert. This game is extremely fun when you have a party or invite friends over. When you have friends over, you can team up and defeat the others, etc. You can choose teams or have everyman for him (or her) self, you choose how often the items appear and which items you want.
When you complete stuff you can unlock secret characters, which are 4 in all. Also you can do activities like Break the Targets, which is used in all 3 Smash Bros. games and you have to break the targets, very simple. The other one is Board the Platforms, which this game uses it not any of the sequels. One of my favorites, all you have to do is.....you guessed it, go on the platforms, very simple.
On a score 1 to 10, I give Gameplay a 10!
Graphics:
The graphics for the background are fantastic! The background and the stages are very detailed and must have took alot of time designing the layouts and the graphics for the stages. Just look at mainly all the stages.
Unlike background graphics, character graphics are average/ok, but since the Nintendo 64 has average graphics, then it should be about normal.
On a score 1 to 10, I give Graphics a 9.
Music and Sound:
The music for the game is good (Depends on how you like it). The menu themes are ok, but the stage music are great and consist of very catchy tunes, but all the music are repetitive.
On a score 1 to 10, I give Music a 9.
The sounds are great. The sound effects like bombs exploding and the characters reacting make this game believable and amazing. It does not drag this game down and in fact, I have nothing bad to say about sound effects
On a score 1 to 10, I give Sounds a 10!
Replayability:
This game is very addictive, even when you play v.s. mode, especially having parties and playing with friends. When fighting, the possibilities are endless, and won't grow tired of. Also replayability loses points since this game is for the Nintendo 64 and that system is out of date and people wants to play Playstation3 and Wii instead of the Nintendo 64.
On a score 1 to 1o I give Replayability a 8.
Final Recommendation:
Well, if you like fighting games, especially involving your favorite Nintendo characters, I would recommend that game. Also even today in 2009, that game is probally worth $2.99 - $5.00. You try to get it online or maybe at GameStop if they have it.
Overall: 9
This game really blew my mind, and is very entertaining. It is good for parties and playing for friends. The main show of the game is the v.s. mode and if I were you I would have a party or/and invite friends over and start playing.
I said it once, and I'm gonna say it again:
This Game Is A Classic For The Ages.
