WCW vs. NWO: World Tour

"Great game for old schoolers"

First off, I was playing this game the other day, and realized how it was sort of a standard for other wrestling games. ( WWF2000, All the Smackdown and WCW games) I noticed that the graphics and controls were up to par. So I decided to do a little review for it.

GamePlay: (9/10)

Being one of the first of it's kind, World Tour has nice Game Play. Good design of ring and new characters. Game runs smoothly even in 4 player mode and good smooth controls.No choppy frame rate and stuff.

Controls: (9/10)


The Control idea is great and,like i said,set the standard for other games in the genre.Nice idea with weak and strong grappling, which helps with more moves. The controller pad is easy to move, and I'm glad it uses the Control Pad, Instead of Analog Stick to move. I had these controls mastered in a few, helping me when I wanted to win early.

Replay: (10/10)

Replay is,of course, an important part in any wrestling game. After you beat one Challenge, you go back and strive for another belt. After you beat all 4, you've already gained 4 big name superstars, and a chance at getting 2 more.A random selection of wrestlers in challenges makes replay even more fun.

Graphics: (7/10)

The graphics are ok, of course. They are up to par to some games I see on the market today.I can tell who is who and recognize them from real life. Special moves can be recognized. One qualm though, what's with the majority of thongs on some of the created wrestlers? ( DOA, Independent Union)Also, I like how each wrestler has 4 different outfits.

Sound Effects-Music: (5/10)

The reason this is low is because the music sucks. The repetitiveness (hey! cool word!) of it gets annoying. The Sound F/X are ok, the beating of a bat gets a thud, referee counting, etc. This isn't one of the strong points of the game, but I needed to address it.

Buy Or Rent?

I recommend buying this game. I mean, It's only about $15.00 in USA. You can have loads of fun playing this game. Don't automatically assume it sucks since it's old. I've had lots of fun with it.

Closing

In Closing, I'd just like to say That This is a great game. It, of course, doesn't match up to the games of 2000, It comes pretty close!
