"Woot, another THQ wrestler..."

Graphics:
Did you play Wrestle mania 2000? If you did then you pretty much saw all the game offers graphic wise. The graphics look good even though the wrestlers seem a little blocky and some parts can seem blurry at certain times, other than that its same as the other THQ wreslters.7/10

Sound:
All the music is there and the groans, moans, and pows are there, nothing really special in this department. 6/10

Controls:
Nicely done for all the THQ veterans since the controls are the same as all the other wrestling games they've produced (except WCW Nitro) and the controls are REALLY easy to learn for new comers who haven't played and THQ games.9/10

Gameplay:
Ok, heres where it gets ''interesting'' for the most part. The game has many modes of play and alot of options and stuff, but I still find myself disappointed in the fact that when playing in the championship mode, its very annoying and frustrating to say the least. It has an ok storyline and the outcome can be different in many ways which does make it more interesting, but its annoying that when you have the difficulty on easy and then your in the ring, and the only move you can pull off (if your lucky) is mashing the punch button as fast as you can to atleast try to beat the CPU because every other move you pull off ends in a counter attack from the CPU, and yes, I mean almost every time no matter what difficulty, so you end up using dirty tricks (throwing weapons, mashing punch buttons, aerial moves, ect...) to try and win. Its stupid and frustrating, especially since the AI can basically be classified as retarded, sometimes they just stand there looking at you as you pull off an aerial attack and other times there just taunting you repeatedly and thats all they'll do, course then you try to punch or grapple then they pull off a counter move. Anyway, after getting a new controller (threw mine up against the wall from frustration) I sat and played the new features, the ladder match and guest ref. (cage is the same as always, and so is the other modes) I can say that the ladder match is pretty cool up to a point, then it just seems like its just a big, climbable weapon. The guest ref. is fun, especially for pissing friends off, you have the decisions for count outs, pin counts, DQ, ropebreaks, and ect., and yes the backstage areas are there, I feel there pointless sometimes, but there there. 4/10

Lasting Appeal:
Probably the only reason you'll come back is from boredom, or for the multiplayer features. If your playing alone, you'll have about 30min. to an hour of ''fun'' time, then after playing championship mode for a while, you'll be throwing the game to the dog after getting mad at the game.
The extra little smackdown shop is great, and annoying at the same time. It might keep you coming back, but then might not depending on how you feel about it. The games fun when playing multi-player and it can be fun when playing alone (given its not the champ. mode)especially with guest ref. and ladder matches as a new addition.8/10

Note:
Would be a perfect game if it didn't have stupid AI and annoying counter attack, but I am sure you'll like the game for the most part and if you don't have wrestle mania or any other THQ wrestlers, then you should buy this one.
