Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M.
Review by DrDoak2001
"Hours on of nostop bugblasting for you and your fellow exteminators on the N64!"
This game was a fun adventure for me that I enjoyed playing lots. The graphics were good codes and guns were cool. Sound was pretty good too now that I think about it!
GRAPHICS: The graphics in Armorines were certainly impressive. Lighting effects were dazziling. Guns were very cool indeed. You have a wide selection of them to choose from. Enemy bugs deaths are either simple or plain out disgusting to watch! Say you smack them around with your standard laser gun, nothing much but just a few drops of bug juice and some sceeching. Now let's try shooting it with a rocket launcher shall we? BOOM! The bug explodes and yellow bug juice splatters everywhere! Yuck! It's kind of scary to look at some of the enemies sometimes. Their faces can look truly freaky. Some of them don't even have a head, they only have scary looking skulls!
SOUND: Everything from screaming scientists to screeching bugs to laser guns going off sounds very good in Armorines. When you gun down a bug, you'll hear a bloodcurdling screech come from it! When a scientist is being chased you'll constantly hear him yell, 'HELP'! All the guns have different sounds (all of which sound great!). Some of the guns can be charged up for more power and will sound different depending on the charge level! Music is okay in this game but it's kind of quiet and you don't get much out of it.
STORY: Two words describe the story of this game: Absoulutely hilarious. Giant bugs with bad attitudes are trying to take our planet and we must stop them as soon as possible. So whip out a 40 gallon drum of bug spray and move out, Armorine! The story starts out with a mission in Siberia where the bugs load themselves into missles and launch themselves to 3 locations around the world: Hawaii, Columbia, and Egypt. Acclaim made one mistake that left me fuming mad. They set the Columbia mission in an AZTEC temple. AAAAAHHHH!! The Aztecs lived in Mexico, not South America! Rare made the same mistake when they said Teotihuacan was the Aztec capital. Tenochtitlan was the Aztec capital. And to top it all off, Teotihuacan was destroyed around 500 a.d.! Anyway, on with the review.
RENT/BUY: I say rent and enjoy but the choice is yours. If you are a diehard FPS fan looking for a way to kill time and bugs both at the same time, then grab some cash and head out to grab Amorines: Project Swarm.
