Mega Man 64

"You'll only like this if you want a cheap thrill and don't carry about quality."

Ok, let me first say I was really looking forward to this game. I'm a fan of 3d shooter games (mainly JFG, and Winback) and was hoping for this game to be great. It wasn't great. I'll first go into the categories:

Graphics: 5

The graphics in this game are entirely average. There aren't many problems with clipping, but the framerate suffers, the graphics are blurry, there isn't much detail put into the game, and the environments really are uninspired. This is a very average game in graphics, though there isn't really anything too bad about them, there is nothing good about them.

Gameplay: 4

The gameplay has its redeeming factors, but not enough. You can pick up items, and weapon upgrades, and the likes, and it kinda starts to get fun. But because of the camera problem, and the simplicity of monsters, it really never becomes too much of a challenge. Any of the challenge comes from Boss robots, which just don't save the game enough. You can jump, straff, and carry out a bunch of moves, but these aren't executed very well, and don't help each other very much. If you want a quick thrill, you may have fun, but it gets very dull after a few hours.

Sound: 2

Where's the sound? There are actually some decent sound effects, but you rarely here music, and when you do, it's bad. There isn't anything good in this area, except maybe a few blasts and shots here and there. You'll want to play some kind of other music while you play this game.

Replay: 1

I'll give it a 1. If you absolutely love this game, you might want to play it again. But if you thought it was good, average, bad, horrid, you won't want to play it again. I couldn't stand going through this game again, and I wouldn't want to make someone else do it either.

Overall: 3

This is not a good game, at all. There are the fun moments, which are rare, then you've got all the boring moments in between. I actually think this would be a great rent. Why? Because you could play it as much as you want, for pretty cheap, and not waste your money buying it like I did. This does not have the fun factor, or really anything on par, with games like Jet Force Gemini, Winback, Syphon Filter, and many others. Younger players may like this game because of the simplicity, but the older players will want to steer clear from this. Overall I think Capcom could've done a much better job, and were just wanting to make a few quick bucks.
