"Get ready for F1 Racing that is great in every detail"

Story: 9/10

Imagine yourself strapped into a F1 car as you patiently wait for the lights. 4 lights... 5 lights... GO!!! Your car lurches forward as you get set to absolutely dominate the track. This is the great scene for Monaco Grand Prix which may not have a flashy name but still can dole out great action and the thrill of winning into this game.

Gameplay: 8/10

Even though is doesn't have all the features and modes I would want to see, this game still packs a punch. With the choice between using Arcade or Simulation modes which can make the gameplay a lot. And with stuff like Championship, Single Race and Time Trial modes, it will be a great thing. The options on this game are endless with the weather, race distances, etc. Still, the N64 Controller Pak is a good thing for this game.

Graphics: 7/10

The detail of the tracks is very good with most details mapped out greatly with even the advertising logo's shown in very clear detail. The cars are not as detailed as I would hope that they would with not as many details clearly though it is still very good. This is a great game just to look at the scenery surrounding you!

Music: 8/10

The music is very good as it adds to the excitement of the game itself, once again though, the same theme is used over and over again. This however is held up a bit by the incredible realism and roar of the engines and everything to do with the sound effects was very well done. This is just exceptionally done by these people as everything is just chaos at the beginning to the sheer murmur of the crowd at the mid-race, really good!

Multiplayer: 8/10

The multiplayer options on this game are limited to only duel mode in both Arcade and Simulation but it's still very good for this short but sweet feature. This mode allows you to have any options for any track you want to select so you and your friend can go 1 on 1. Still wish more cars could race though.

Controls: 9/10

The controls for this game are very easy because all you need to know is accelerate, brake, direction and camera angle. The controls will vary a bit with both the Arcade and Simulation modes because it is easier to control in Arcade then in Simulation mode.

Challenge 10/10

This game is a challenging game to master because Simulation mode is the hardest racing mode I have ever come across. You should start out in Arcade mode as it is easier to control the car so you can reach the pinnacle of racing and win a few championships. Simulation is very difficult on the other hand those, and the Career mode is a very difficult mode indeed. First off, you get very bad car to start off with and you have to work your way up the rankings as you get better and better cars. It took me 16 championships to win my first one so it's a very difficult mode to win. A very challenging game where you have to use every bit of skill and strategy to be able to win the championship which is a great feeling indeed!

Fun Factor: 10/10

This game is a very fun and exciting game because off all the action and tracks and cars you can use. The cars are very good and the amount of competition is very well balanced into the game as well. I felt this was fun game which I can only say two words about it, SHEER BRILLIANCE!

Replayability: 10/10

The game itself can take you months and months to complete every mode that you believe can be done but that is so wrong. Try to do things to your opponents that will almost ensure victory for them but you just take it from under there nose. I once gave my opponents 2 laps on the German circuit and still won the race so anything can happen. Use different cars, even cheat if you want to by taking penalties off and if you want to do something different then just turn the car around, eliminate all your competition by running into them all and just cross the finish line as the only car left, that is so much fun knowing that you have beaten the whole... but I am getting off track, the game is just so much fun.

Overall: 9/10

The maker of this game, Ubi Soft, has outdone itself with this game Monaco Grand Prix. This game is a definite buy for racing fans but I caution that if you are just wondering about the sport, rent it first before you make the decision to buy the game.

This is my second of reviews for the world of N64, this is WARFART signing off with one thing left to say...

THE BEST DAMN RACING GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED, PEACE!
