"Decent 2-D Platform Game"

The name Treasure is synonym with quality 2-D platformers, and they've now entered the N64 market with a great new game that's sure to please. Mischief Makers is an above average game.

Beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds and cinema cut scenes like those in Star Fox and Super Mario 64, combine to form above average graphics. My one complaint is that things can get a little too crowded at times, making things a bit confusing.

Marina talks!! :) She says a wide variety of things, and so does her creator, Professor Theo. Prof. Theo has one line that he says after most boss fights: "HEEEELLLP MEE MARIIIIIINAAAA!" The members of the Beastector, the main bad guys in the game, talk as well, but they're a bit hard to understand. The music isn't horrible, but it does get annoying after awhile.

The layout out the controls is decent, but the moves are very complex for beginners to learn, and some may get caught by simple traps. On the plus side, though, there are a lot of useful moves.

Overall, Mischief Makers is a good game that is worth a rental. If you're the type of person that likes to find everything in a game, you might be interested in buying it, as well.
