Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
Review by Buddaysh
"A good game if you're looking for a challenge."
When I found out that MKM had been released, I wanted to get the game more than anything else. On my birthday, my parents bought it for me, and I was VERY happy. I popped the cart into my N64, and couldn't wait to start playing. I configured the options and pressed start. A crappy photo comes up with text below it. I just press start and wait. Suddenly, Sub-Zero crashes through a glass and meets Scorpion. Scorpion says something, and goes away. Then I start to explore. I got bored after 5 minutes and put it aside.
What a waste of money, I thought.
A couple of months passed, and then Zelda64 came out. Of course, I got that and all I played was that. Once I beat Zelda, I decided to play MKM, since I didn't play that much. Once I played, I couldn't stop! When I got to the 7nth level, I was amazed! The mini-bosses looked 3-d, and they were awesome! The whole level was awesome! I had earned all these cool moves then, like the Ice Shatter and stuff.
Graphics - 7/10
The graphics aren't bad at all. Sub-Zero, and other small enemies may seem to stick out from the background, but it's ok. MKM has 2-d levels, but they look 3-d.
Control - 3/10
You have to press B to turn around? C'mon! Also, when you jump, you have to be really careful, because the slightest tilt could end up in disaster.
Story - 6/10
MKM takes place before all other MK games. Sub-Zero must get the amulet to give to Quan Chi.
Overall - 8/10
MKM is really hard, but it's great once you play for a little while.
