"Best game of 98'"

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is the best game for the Nintendo 64. Acclaim and Iguana surely know their stuff when it comes to 1st person shooters. I'll tell you my point of view for the game.

Gameplay

From the beginning the game is a sight to see. Wonderful graphics never made possible for the N64. At first the game does appear slow when the wagons blow up, but what game doesnt suffer from slowdown. Anyway, the scenery is great with nice designed levels. The enemies are the smartest yet and are remarkably well done with the soft-skin technology Iguana used for this game. There is one down side though, the long levels to this game. They are just too long, especially level 2. Other than that, everything else about this game is great.

Sound

For a system that doesnt have a dedicated sound chip, Iguana must have dont some serious homework to push the sound we hear in this game. The levels have the right music to go with the enviorment from the sweet sound of the Adia level to the deep sound in the nuke warp portals. The weapon sounds are awesome too. The enemies are also good composers too from the grunts and the sound of their heads getting blasted off from the Shotgun. Great sound.

Control

Now the control im not to happy with. Turok moves much slowly in this game than his first one. His jump doesnt seem as high and if you look down, Wheres Turok's feet? I would think Iguana would have added some feet for him in this game. After you adjust Turok from the options mode, he seems just fine.

Graphics

Now the graphics are where this game really takes the cake. Almost looking at a PC game the graphics are the best, with the Expansion pak no doubt. If you dont have the pak, go get one, you wont be disappointed.

Overall

Well the game has a few bad points concerning the slowdown and the framerate problems, and the lock-ups too. The game seems not to have any lock up problems if you leave the black lid off of the system. Everygame seem to have a few slowdowns even the much talked about Zelda 64. Even the best game has a few glitches in it. Its a fact if you put a polygonal shape on the screen the system slowsdown and more and more comes on, it slowsdown even more. So you see that all games arent perfect. Just give Iguana and Acclaim some credit for coming out with such a great game. Keep up the good work.
