Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

"Love it or hate it"
Wow, I must say that I am extremely impressed. I have been following this game for about a year now, and I am not in the least bit disapointed. Plug in the 4 MB pack the graphics are amazing! Now, if your wondering about the title of my review, here's what I mean. This game only has one major (I won't call it a flaw, because some people won't even notice it) point to bring up: Framerate. If you are accustomed to First-person shooters primed for running on your $3000, fully upgraded computer, you might throw this game to the ground it disgust. I mean, the framerate isn't constant, but it doesn't make the game unplayable. If you are just a casual console gamer, looking for an extremely well designed, multi-player first person shooter, buy this game. Getting past the framerate issue, this game has it all: six huge levels, tons of weapons, an amazing multi-player mode, cool monsters, kick-ass graphics and lots of animation. Each of the levels have their own, unique feel. No texture data is shared. If you thought the weapons in the first game were cool, wait 'till you see the cerebral bore! It's gruesome, and highly unrealistic (watching your grey matter being drained, then walking away?) but hey, it's Turok. The multi-player mode is a blast. Have three friends over, and don't make any other plans for the evening. You will be totally imerresed. There are about 15 MP levels, but you can change the look each time you play them so it never gets old. The MP mode also has a lot more to it than GoldenEye's. There's running, jumping, swimming, crawling and riding. Turly amazing. The monsters actually act like sentient creatures. You can see the hierarchy's and know who is in charge. You actually understand their civilizations. The animations are amazing. You can de-capitate, dismember, kill, and torture any of the monsters. For this reason, the shotgun actually does feel powerful. You can blow off a creature's head or limb, then watch the blood ooze from the open wound. In conclusion, if you can get past the framerate issues, then you have yourself an amazing game definitely worth purchase. What are you waiting for, go buy it, now.
P.S. Wait until you ride the triceratops.
