"A great Twisted Metal clone"

Gameplay 9/10
This game has real fun gameplay which is exactly like Twisted Metal's. The game is kind of short though. In 1 player mode, you can choose between quest, arcade, or survival. In 2 player mode, you get to choose from versus, co-operative, and quest. In multi-player mode, there's up to 3-4 players and you get to choose from brawl, team, and smear. You get to choose from 13 different characters. 5 of them are locked. You unlock them by beating levels in quest. The characters are Chassey Blue, Slick Clyde, Sheila, John Torgue, Dave, Convoy, Loki, Houston 3, Boogie, Beezwax, Molo, Sid Burn, and Y the Alien. Each character has there own car. Y the Alien is the only character that doesn't have a car because he has a UFO. All of the cars have different speed, armor, and tracking avoidance. There's about 11 levels. 3 of them are locked. Beat a lot of levels to unlock them. During gameplay, you can have 4 weapons. One of them is the machine gun which all cars always have and it never wastes ammo. The other three weapons are lying around each level waiting for somebody to pick them up. You can only use one weapon at once and you can select between them. There's six different weapons. The weapons are interceptor missles, bull's eye rockets, sky hammar mortar, bruiser cannon, and roadkill mines. Each car has there own special weapon and you can use it when you pick up the special box. There's also shields, radar jammers, weapon upgrades, and repair wrenches.

Graphics 9/10
The graphics are just the same as most N64 games but you can enhance them with the expansion pak. When you do use the expansion pak, the graphics are nicely detailed and smooth.

Story 8/10
The stories are shown when you beat certain levels. The stories are okay and a little interesting. And their not movies their comics or pictures.

Sound and Music 8/10
The sounds sound a little realistic. There's shooting sounds, engine sounds, cars getting hit by stuff sounds, and explosion sounds. And for the music, they sound okay. There's 8 different songs. Each level doesn't have their own song, so you can pick which song you want to listen while playing. You choose them in the pause menu. Who knows, you might even listen to the music from the game instead of listening to the music from a CD.

Replay Value 9/10
You would be playing this game even though it's short because the multi-player mode is real fun. I beat this game in like a week but was still playing it for a month because of the multi-player mode.

Overall 9/10
Vigilante 8 is a pretty cool game. If you don't have this game you should buy it especially if you like Twisted Metal. It's only $20.
