Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000
Review by DreThug
"Racing At A Decent Level"
When I first got Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 I was excited. I never played a supercross game in my life so I had high expectations for it. When I played it for the first time I thought it really sucked. Then after playing it more and more it got a little better.
First off, the graphics are very grainy looking. The dirt you drive on doesn't even look like dirt. Some of the little jumps you go over look horrible. The motorcycles don't look bad but they aren't fancy at all. The whole interface of Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 looks rushed and after reading that Acclaim made it, I wasn't surprised at all.
Second, the gameplay is decent. The coolest option in the game is the tournament mode. In the tournament mode, you can participate in three different circuits. The outdoor circuit, the indoor circuit, and both of them combined. There is some kind of stunt mode but I got bored of it fast. The first time I played the indoor tournament I won. I couldn't believe it because I had the difficulty on hard. If you play Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 for a week and don't beat it, I don't think you should play video games anymore.
Third, the control is average. I found it very easy to turn and brake. The cool thing about this game is that there are two different kinds of brakes. A front brake and a back brake. Personally, I didn't use the front brake at all. Acclaim added some tricks in the game that are very easy to pull off. While the controls are easy to learn I feel that there is something missing to the game when I am playing it.
Finally, the sound Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 is great. I love the background music that plays. Although it's very repetitive it sets the mood of the game. The only thing I didn't like about the sound was the announcer. I think he speaks too long in the start of each race. Other than that, the sound is great.
Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 is a decent motorcycle game. If you like motorcross a lot then I would recommend you give this game a rent. If you just want to try a motorcycle game, I wouldn't try this one because there are a lot of better games out there.
