WCW/NWO Revenge
Review by Jerichoberg
"The ultimate wrestler; only competition is WWF Warzone (and that ain't much)."
This is WCW/nWo Revenge and it is time to exact revenge on your friends if they whuped you in Warzone.
Revenge features 62 wrestlers (including hidden ones) including Sting, Kevin Nash, Hollywood Hogan, Raven, and Chris Jericho. While there are not as many ways to play as in Warzone, the game is just as fun.
Choose from singles, tag teams, handicap matches, and the ever unpredictable battle royal. Up to 40 wrestlers can participate in the battle royal with one victorious. While not as many move situations as in Warzone, the moves are cleaner, the reversals more and detailed, which means you can reverse all moves except finishers or reverse moves into finishers (if you use Chris Jericho, you can reverse a dropkick with a LionTamer), and the moves are more high-impact than are Warzone's.
The costume change feature is a sweet addition to WCW games. Never have you had this much control as to what the wrestlers look like (some wrestlers have more than one face, such as Rey Jr., Juvi, and Ultimo Dragon), but costumes are limited to other wrestlers' costumes, certain colors, and some wrestler names don't seem complete as to the way they were programmed.
While the replay feature in Revenge is innovatove, it is annoying, sometimes playing the dumbest moves, the Shoulder Block, for example.
The readers of this review may not like my Revenge-Warzone comparisons. In tv shows, the WWF trounces WCW, but in video games, WCW beats the WWF by a long shot. WCW/nWo Revenge is too swweeeeeeeettttt!
