"Fight for Survival!"

Quake 2 is the Sequel of the PC Port for the N64, Quake. The Multiplayer was improved, so 4 people can fight against each other than with 2, and there are several game modes. First of all is standard Bloodlust, or your basic fragfest. Nowadays ''Frag'' is being used instead of ''Kill'' for some games I guess. Anyway, the other modes are Capture the Flag,2 on 2, the teams try to capture the opposing teams flag. When they do, the other teams players explode into pieces and the capturing team gets points galore! (about 2 I believe) There are more modes I believe, but I only rented the game, I forgot!!! Sorry!!!

Gameplay-7
Gets boring in some areas, but you have your best friends with you (namely your blaster and assorted heavy weapons) to cheer you up. Some enemy is waiting to be blasted, and it is your job to give it to him. Notice the random areas where a body is found and flies are buzzing around it (try shooting the body if you find one, you should find one right at the start of the game)

Graphics-8
Graphics were nicely done, the shots still have that Quake trademark of a pixellated flaming tail (Quake rocket launcher, Quake 2 rocket launcher, and the Quake 2 blaster all have one) and the worlds are 3D and realistic... They do a fair job at giving you the feeling of running through a dangerous world inhabited by enemies that have only one objective, to kill you. The guns look awesome and fire dangerous looking shots that, are in fact, dangerous..

Sound-6
Guns don't sound realistic, and no music is played while you play the game, so you can hear sounds of enemies rushing to attack and kill you...the realistic thing I remember most? The flies buzzing around dead bodies in single player.

Control-8
The controls are presets, you will have to choose which one is most comfortable for you. I hate those kind because some games all the controls stink, the only time they are good is if you have custom control setup options.

Playability-9
You still will have to get used to the controls, but there are no glitches (none that I remember) that hurt the game. The game is rated Mature, so a lot of youngsters might not be allowed to play it.

Replay Value-7
Single player, about 8 weapons, and a couple of multiplayer modes don't make up all that much, but nonetheless, pretty fun. And if you beat single player, you get a password for a secret level!!! Do you have what it takes to get through that?

Buy? Borrow? Rent? Burn?
Rent or borrow first, then buy it if you like it, I say wait until the price goes down before getting it though.

Saving
You need a controller pak to save. If I remember correctly, you get passwords for beating levels as well.

Hardware
Rumble pak compatible, controller pak needed to save games, 1-4 player simultaneous play.
