Mario Party
Review by AlphabetMan
"Mario Party is fun with 4 but boring with 1."
Mario and all his buddies have come together again for another bit of fun in the sun.
Mario Party for the Nintendo 64 is a four player, showdown. The core of the game design itself is the fact that it's all a giant board game. Each player takes a turn to hit a dice, and move a few spaces. Depending on the space the player lands on, something could happen. From a single player bonus game, to gaining some coins, to loosing coins, or even changing the configuration of the board.
Mario Party is a fun game to play with other people, but it has both strengths and weaknesses.
For starters, it's not much fun sitting around waiting for your friends to make a move. Heck it's no fun at all if the computer AI is playing in place of another player. Also the mini-games included on the game boards can cause you to literally break your controller. Some of the motions some people will have to do can cause some damage to the joystick so do be careful.
Other than that the game is perfect. The mini-games rage from 2 vs 2, 1 vs 3, and 4 players in a free for all. In total there are over 50 different mini-games included, along with a few secret ones as well.
Mario Party is exactly was the tittle it says it is: a party game. Don't expect much fun out of it if you're playing by yourself. If you have one or two friends over, this can turn into an all night party!
