Ridge Racer 64
Review by Doodleheimer
"It should've been called Ridge Racer 32 x 2. Wait.....is that right? Better call the Ghostbusters on this one."
Game Play-
7/10
This is one of the hardest racers Mr. Doodleheimer's ever played. Most of the cars are named after old Namco games, such as Galaga and Mappy. Mappy; What kind of game name is that? It should've at least been about cartography. And they couldn't put real cars in the game? How cheap is that?
The Car Attack mode is cool, except some of the cars are impossible to beat. If you beat the car in a race, you get to use that car in other modes. And you have to get first on all three races in a stage to get new cars and tracks. Are they insane? Do they have to make the game so hard? The brakes are hard to use too. It takes too long to make the car stop completely.
Control-
7/10
The control is pretty bad, until you get the powerslide right. A powerslide is where you go to a sharp curve, and you can't make the turn without crashing, so you do a 360 spin to go right by the curve. The button setup also can be uncomfortable at times. But luckily, you have the option of using the traditional D-Pad to control your car.
Graphics-
7/10
The cars look nice, but the environments look grainy. There are three stages, but with different tracks in the same environments. All of the stages look the same, but with different parts closed off and other parts opened. Are they really this cheap? Wait....Mr. Doodleheimer asked that already, didn't he? And the game looks really fast at first, but then it look like it gets really slow.
Audio-
5/10
The music in this game is bad. It is just light music, barely audible, and it is weird techno. Like the Chemical Brothers, only more subtle and full of crap.
The sound effects sound good at first, but they get on your nerves. It kind of sounds like the racing sound in Pole Position, but then it suddenly changes.
The announcer in this game is pretty bad too. He always says at the beginning that ''This is going to be a great race!'' Great race? It's not a great race unless Mr. Doodleheimer freakin' wins.
Enjoyability-
6/10
Racing fans rejoyce! A racer is finally available on the N64! Mr. Doodleheimer's being sarcastic, if it isn't obvious enough to you.
The game is enjoyable, but after a while when you just get really frustrated with the game, you get mad at the cartridge. The game is claimed to be easy by some, but the game is claimed to be hard by Mr. Doodleheimer.
Score Rundown-
Game Play-7/10 - Oh yay! N64 fans finally get a racing game. STILL BEING SARCASTIC.
Control-7/10 - Powerslide, huh? Mr. Doodleheimer aught to try that in real life. *2 Hours later* A fatal traffic accident is clogging the Highway for miles.
Graphics-7/10 - Polygons are overrated on RR64, in Mr. Doodleheimer's opinion. *someone throws a chair at Mr. Doodleheimer*
Audio-5/10 - Mr. Doodleheimer wanna win! MR. DOODLEHEIMER WANNA WIN!
Enjoyability-6/10 - What the hell is Mr. Doodleheimer supposed to say about this?

Mr. Doodleheimer's Recommendationitivity
If you can find this game for less than ten bucks, and you like racers, then who's stopping you. Mr. Doodleheimer bought it because IGN said it was so great. Obviously, Mr. Doodleheimer thinks that they're kid of wrong. If you like uncreative racing environments with grainy graphics and crappy music with bad game control, this game's perfect. It literally has little difference to other racers, except the difficulty is through the roof.
Street Price-$12.99
