Quake II

"This game is fun!!! but only for a while"

I've really never played many hours of any Quake but I saw some pictures for this game and it looked fun so I rented it and I played it for a while but then it got boring because it is the same type of level over and over.

7 out of 10 Graphics- I haven't bought a expansion pack yet but the regular graphics reminded me a lot of Rise of the Triad. If you haven't ROTT then I would explain it by saying simply that it is a better looking Doom. The flys flying around dead bodies I thought were a nice touch.

6 out of 10 Sound- There is no music during gameplay but the monsters do say phrases like "intruder" and growl. The explosions are nice too but still doesn't make up for no music.

9 out of 10 Controls- Just like Turok's.

6 out of 10 Challenge- I thought this game was very hard until I found the Grenade Launcher and then i beat it quickly.

Total-I would at least rent but I wouldn't buy unless you really like Doom because this game is a lot like it.
