Worms Armageddon

"Funny as hell!"

This is very odd, and yet very funny…and yet very cool! This game is like no game I’ve really seen before, so the originality of it is quite good. A good game.

Graphics: 3/10 Abysmal. Preposterous. Just plain bad. I actually think this is the worst game on the N64 for graphics. It looks like Snes graphics to me…But even though they are horrible disgusting, it doesn’t affect the game much, but better graphics would make the game better.

Story: 2/10 Lets put the facts together; you have worms. You have rocket launchers, grenades, and other high-powered explosives. You use these weapons on other worms. That IS the story.

Audio: 7/10 The music is alright, there are about 5-6 different ‘War’ tunes, and the ‘sudden death’ tune. The sudden death one is awesome, and 2 of the war tunes are good. They really set the mood of war quite well, even if you are worms, :). The sound effects are good to, as you can set the voices to different tones, languages and attitudes.

Gameplay: 9/10 It is just funny! Watching a little worm drop TNT on another worm, and the worm gets blown 3000 feet into the air, falling on a land mine, and drowning in the ocean, is well, FUNNY. There is a lot to it also. Missions are quite hard, but are good for a decent challenge. Death match is my personal favourite thing to do in this game. You start off with 6 worms, fighting about 3 other ones. As you work your way up the ladder, you start to lose worms from the start, and fight more of them. Its quite difficult when you have 2, and they have 12…But STILL fun. There is a training mode also, where you can test your skills, and get better at firing things (It is very hard to fire a grenade from 100 feet away, and actually hit something square on).

Replay ability: 5/10 Once you’ve beaten it, and done everything, and killed 8000 worms in every possible way, it loses its touch.

Overall rating: 6/10 It is good…for awhile. It is very fun at first, but it just gets repetitive. It is also very annoying how the computer in this game seems to be godly at aiming. The poor graphics put this from a 7 to a 6. If the music was any better, it would also improve the score.
