"One of the best golf games I've ever played"

Basically what Camelot did what with this title was take Hot Shots Golf and add Super Mario Brothers characters. They certainly did a good job with this title. My friend rented it and had a sleepover with me and my other two friends. We played it all night. This is one of those games that is easy to learn, but hard to master. Within 5 minutes I knew what I was doing for the most part, and there were still a lot of features to keep me thinking, such as wind, terran, what club you're using, etc. There are plenty of modes to keep you busy, such as Stroke, which is the main game, not much competition, Skins Match, where you get a Star Coin for each hole, Mini Golf, Match Game, which is like Stroke except more competitive, and Club Slots, where you only get certain clubs. And that's just multiplayer. One player also has Tournament, where you compete for the best place and earn Birdie Badges, Get Character Mode which allows you to use more characters in 1 player mode after you beat them, Speed Golf, where you have to finish fast, Training, and Ring Shot where you have to shoot through large rings scattered throughout the level. There are plenty of characters to choose from as soon as you start. As for the Mario characters, there's Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and Baby Mario. There are also some other people who haven't been in any of the games. There are also a ton of secrets. You can also earn 4 secret characters, Bowser, DK, Metal Mario, and a girl named Maple. They even through in 4 spaces for characters you can import through the Game Boy version of the game. The challenge is also here, considering you only start with 2 courses, but more can be opened up by gaining points at the end of the round, depending on how well you do. All in all, a great N64 game that anyone will enjoy, even two of my friends who a week ago didn't know what a bogey was.

Graphics: 9/10 (the terrain graphics are well done)

Sound: 8/10 (not spectacular, but it fits)

Control: 9/10

Fun Factor 9.5/10 (I was instantly hooked and had to get the game immediately)

Overall: 9/10
