Lode Runner 3-D

"Sorta lame, but okay"

Here is yet another game produced by the same fella's that made Mission Impossible possible. In other words, Infogrames. Only, this time, insteade of attempting to kill you, they are out to confuse you and even throw in a bit of killing. It's a bit hard to master at first with all of those fast moving monks and situations where if you mess up, you are screwed. But, other than that, it's okay and puzzling. But, that's what it is. Although, I am a bit concerned that CJayC put it under the Action genere when most people would probably say it's puzzle. But, enough with my complaining, and on to the real review.

Graphics-8/10-Very good and detailed graphics. Every time I play I barely notice any slow down. This is all good. Even during those major scenes. Another good thing, Lode Runner doesn't keep you waiting. There aren't any cutscenes. Which means hardly any loading or other types of slow down.

Story-7/10-Not original, just your basic someone stole something valuable and you are chosen to get it back type of thing. With some twists and turns along the way.

Controls-8/10-Easy to master. Hard to get used to. You can't really go anywhere except for the big blocks. Which really gets boring. But, it's a puzzle game, so you got to have some sort of amount of limitations.

Sound-9/10-Very cool sound. Suspenseful music make this game very much better than it was before. Everything from the laser blast to the monk screams to the teleporter ''sound''. It's all good. Also, the music is very suspenseful. I know I already expressed that, but, it's really cool. And I just love it!

Gameplay-6/10-Sort of boring. You just go around and blow up blocks to get to areas that you need to go. Then, just teleport to other parts of worlds. It's a bit boring, but, most games like this are. Occasionally you'll run into a monk. Which just pull the trigger and boom. AHHH!!!!! Basically a monk scream. I don't think monks talk, though...or for that fact, scream.

To buy or rent-I would say buy it if I was a puzzle fanatic, but I'm not, and I still am saying that you should buy it. Although it is a bit boring, most puzzle games are, so I'll let that by, but the sounds are just awesome and the graphics are good. Too bad that the story isn't exactly perfect.
