Road Rash 64

"One of the very few games that let you beat up your opponents on a bike"

We dont see these kind of games often but thankfully this game is pretty good.

Graphics-7
Decent graphics and I have seen much better. The graphics still make the game playable but I'll name some problems. For example, the bikers in this game seem like giants compared to the small pedestrians and the cars are almost the same size of all the motorcycles. City buildings and cars(despite there size) look good, but the grass and every other natural thing dont look up to their best.

Music/Sound-9
Only a few games use real songs that are written by other people and this game obviously does that. There arent a whole lot of songs, but the concept of bashing the crap out of people fit this game as for music. Sound is just plain good and not bad at all.

Control-9
You'll figure it out quickly and it all makes sense. Once you get used to it, you'll love the control. But just remember in any racing game: all bikes and cars are different and have different effects on the control factor.

Story-8
You know the story of a racing game. Get to the finshish line before everyone else. This game has a twist: You must knock your guy off their motor bike to help you. In the Big Game mode, you collect money and the higher place you get in, the more money you get.

Gameplay-8
There are so many weopons in this game. Each are all different. It takes about 5 hits for your opponent to get knocked off and 5 knock outs to get out of the whole race. Watch out for cops too! They will end your race if you are beaten up by them. You can find secret weopons on all the levels(most of them look the same) to help you out(since you wont get much weopons from the start). Special power ups(sorta) can make you do 2x or 4x damage to your oponent. There are so many modes for 2 players like Ped Hunt and Battle mode. Very good gameplay

Challenge-9
This game starts out very easy at first when you play the Big Game mode. When you get farther, its VERY difficult to get first so most of the times you'll get 2nd or 3rd.

Replay-6
This game is fun if you have freinds but if you try the big game, you'll unlock better bikes as you proceed.

Overall-8
Not an average.
This is one of the cooler racing games ever.....at least so far.....

Rent or Buy?
Rent. There isn't much in this game and its possible to complete this game and see everything in 5 days. If you like, why not buy?
