Mega Man 64

"This game is really Mega Man Legends in disguise"

Mega Man 64 is really Mega Man legends in disguise. Capcom thought that by changing the name its a completely different game. Well its not. First of all why did this whole stupid 64 thing start on the Nintendo. I mean you never have games like Mega Man 32 on the Playstation. Is Capcom trying to make people think there are 64 Mega Man games. Well anyways, this game was originally released on the Playstation three years ago. Then it was called Mega Man Legends.

-Story- Mega Man is a guy known as a digger he searches the world for crystals called refractors that provide energy. After crash landing on an island he has to fight against some pirates fix his ship and solve the mystery of the island. Ok 64 owners this has nothing to do with the other Mega Man games its an alternate universe. Get that through your heads.

-Gameplay- Theres sections where you talk and find out information from people RPG fashion. You also have to buy things and upgrade your weapon. You obtain specail weapons buy finding their parts then giving them to Roll and she turns them into the weapons. In action areas you of course fight enemies. The only problem with these areas is that the aiming system is not the best in the world. But hey this is an old game and it was good then.

-Sound/Music- The sound effects are very good. There cartoony but they fit. The musical score is a nice atmospherical one that always creates the perfect mood. There is also alot of voice acting. The voices are not the greatest thing since sliced bread but their still pretty good. Why doesnt Capcom use this quality of acting in their other games? Beats me.

-Graphics- These graphics are OLD. Because its an OLD GAME. They were good for their time. And are very cartoony. This was one of the first PS games to show mouth movements while in game graphics. The jaggies from the PS version have been filed out and replaced with blury textures although.

-Bottom Line- This game is very good. Its old but thats no reason to pass it up. If you like action RPG's then dont pass this up. Its not Zelda and dont expect it to be. I think this game was out even before Zelda Ocarina of Time. So if you can still give an older game a chance then get it.
