"Good gameplay, some boring parts though"

Well, Capcom finally got Megaman to the N64. Megaman 64 is basically Megaman Legends with a couple of extra areas added. It has lots of interesting sidequests and TONS of stuff to collect. You are a digger that goes around in ruins trying to find these crystal things called refractors so you can sell them. Refractors are the energy source of the flooded Earth. Basically, you crashland on an island and eventually end up trying to solve the mystery of the 'Mother Lode', a huge treasure supposedly buried somewhere on the island, all the while beating up these pirates that are also after the treasure.

Story: 6/10
Original but boring. All he does is gather treasure and beat up pirates the whole way. At least it's better than those Mario games.

Controls: 7/10
Not bad once you get used to them, but a bit hard to move around at first. You sorta go zig-zag because of the weird turning system, and at first it's hard to get in line with doors and chests and people. It only takes 2 levels to get used to it though. Using C-down for talking and stuff is kinda weird.

Graphics: 7/10
Why do all the people look the same? There are only 5 or 6 types of normal people! Special characters look different, but that's not much. The walls in the ruins also all look the same, and people aren't that smooth either. Other than that it's sorta OK. The enemies look good.

Fighting: 8/10:
Hey, it's such a big part of the game I had to add a section for it. Anyways, it's quite well done. Lots of different weapons that you can upgrade and add onto.

Sound: 8/10
They actually talk. Quite rare in a Nintendo game. The sound effects are also pretty good, but there aren't that many of them.

Music: 8/10 Good when they have it, but it isn't in Cardon Forest or the city. The Main Gate music is cool.

Gameplay: 9/10
Good gameplay! Lots of sidequests and bosses. Also some accesesories that let you reach new places. There are also about 7 dungeons. The only thing bad is that gathering money and travelling between areas can get boring.

Overall: 8/10
Good overall, but it lags on graphics and it has a boring storyline. The controls are okay once you get used to them. It all comes together pretty well.
