Jet Force Gemini
Review by NeoNess
"Who Knew Blasting Bugs Was So Fun?"
Introduction:
Your name is Juno, and you find yourself traveling smoothly in outer space with companions Vela and Lupas, when suddenly something goes wrong - terribly wrong. A video feed pops up on the screen, to show peaceful tribals getting slaughtered on their home world by nasty creatures. Just then, your ship gets abducted by an Alien ship, forcing you to evacuate separately. This is just the starting of a remarkable adventure, Jet Force Gemini.
:: Story (8/10)
Peaceful tribals on Goldwood have been taken over, and it's your job to rescue them while blasting bugs to bits. The story is pretty much straightforward, saving tribals from each world, defeating bosses, all leading up too the all power Mizar. Nothing remarkable, but good nonetheless.
:: Music/Sound (10/10)
The music is good enough to send shivers down your spine, and not many video game soundtracks can do that to me. The music seems to fit each level perfectly, setting the mood that the creators wanted you to feel. The sound effects of the weapons is very detailed, from the light shots from the pistol, so the heavy blasts of the Tri-Missiles. The music from Jet Force Gemini is definitely nothing to shake a stick at.
:: Graphics (10/10)
Each level is beautifully created, from the landscapes to the background images, and large terrains add for lots of exploration. Each character has it's own uniqueness, as the spattering of the enemies would indicate. Juno, Vela, and Lupus are well made, considering Rare dumped the ''Kiddie'' image of the first pair they created.
:: Gameplay (9/10)
Although I gave it a 9, be warned, as the gameplay of Jet Force Gemini can be sticky at times. The controls are difficult at first, but it doesn't take much time to master. It basically consists of using a combination of the C, A, B, R, & Z buttons. Although it seems confusing at first, you'll be blasting away at bugs in no time.

Other Important Notes
=================
Replay Value: Medium
Once you collect all the tribals, and defeat Mizar, there's really no secrets, or side missions you could do to boost the replay value. I suppose if you wanted to collect all the Floyd medals, extra cheats, and wanted to have some good 'ol fashioned bug blasting, you would consider playing it again.
Good Points
-----------
+ Fun, addictive gameplay
+ Wide variety of weapons
+ Bug blasting at it's finest
Bad Points
-----------
- Semi-confusing controls
- Annoying tribals to save
:: Overall (10/10)
Overall, Jet Force Gemini is a classic Nintendo 64 gem that should have gotten more reputation than it did. Even if it was a greatest hit, most people don't think of it when trying to think of good Nintendo 64 games. Despite that though, if you're looking for a good Action/Adventure game, this game a sure choice.
