"A game worthy of Star Wars"

This game came out quite awhile back and was one of the best. In fact, it still is. With Rogue Leader out now, it is inferior in comparison. it still is a great game if you do not compare it to Rogue Leader. They are a few years apart and Rogue Leader is on a more powerful system so its not fair. On to the review!

Graphics:9/10

The graphics were great back when it was released and is still good by N64 standards and even by Playstation standards! The graphics are very good. You can even see the cockpit from the outside with people in it! Though only outside of battle(when playing missions, it not as close up). The graphics might not look like much compared to today's standard but lets concentrate before now and to the past.
The only thing bad about the graphics is that the stormtroopers are very badly done and sometimes, a turret will look like a drawing if you go close enough(thankfully, its not the whole thing).

Audio:10/10

The audio is very good though it does not compare with Rogue Leader's. You recognize which tunes are which(the Star Wars them and the Imperial Theme, Imperial March, are unmistakable). Each ship also has it's own distinct sound and are not just recycled sounds. They are very close to the movies. They even got the TIEs(of course! You can't forget its sound).

Story:6/10

The only real lacking area of the game is story. I can't tell you the story as most is near the end. I'll just say the story comes a little too late and doesn't have much continuity till the 3rd chapter. For the most part, you're just accepting missions.

Gameplay:9/10

The gameplay is still good though. Each ship has it's own differences and you'll want to play them all. When you get the highest you can get on the secret mission(I think or its just a whole bunch of good ranks on levels)you can play every ship on every level(except for levels with walkers)and replay value definitely goes up.
The only its missing is a two player mode.

Replayabilty:8/10

See above for abit on replayabilty(playing every ship on every level). However, it can get boring doing the missions over and over especially if you have the highest rank you can get and golds on each. If a two player mode was included(VS or Co-op)replay value would be higher.

Rent or Buy:Either. You can rent it to see if you want to buy it. The only bad thing is being extremely good on a rental then having to start all over when you actually buy it.

Overall:9/10

Replay and story are low but the audio, graphics, and gameplay more than make up for it.
