"Great Game That I Still Find Myself Playing After A Year"

I'd like to start by saying that if you are a football fan, you have N64, and you don't have any earlier Blitz games, GET THIS GAME NOW!!!

Graphics: A little improved from prior games. Not choppy at all from what I've seen. Also this game has Expansion Pak accessibility, making everything look even smoother. The player's faces are detailed and so is the field and the uniforms. I think one con in this department is the stadiums and crowd, and the fact that a lot of the players look good but don't look at all like the actual player. A lot of QBs might be way too overweight or underweight compared to what they actually are. Still this department deserves a 9/10.

Sound: I for one love a good commentator in a game. It adds to the game and makes it more enjoyable. Sometimes Blitz's commentator will mess up by saying stuff that is completely illogical. For example sometimes I find myself running all way to the end zone and hes yelling ''hes going, hes going, TOUCHDOWN'' while I am tackled at the 5 yard line. Also, sometimes he yells ''HE'S WIDE OPEN'' when the receiver is standing in the middle of a crown of defenders. Music adds a plus to this game. I think, although its repetitive, it's good pump up music for the game. It gets faster in the fourth quarter to add to the excitement. Another good feature is player taunts. After a big tackle, or being hit by a big tackle, or a touchdown, you might hear a player say, ''I'm so good I outta be Illegal!'' or ''Ow! I think its broken'' after a being hit by a big tackle. I give this category an 8.5/10

Gameplay: Blitz 2001 really shines here. With three challenge levels this game doesn't get old. Also this is the best multi-player game around on the N64 in my opinion. Season mode is a lot of fun too, although I do not understand the rating the game gives you in the end of the season, but whatever its still fun. The only lacking quality here is the fact that they took out the trivia game that would pop up at the end of every game. I thought it was a lot of fun and was in all prior blitz games. Instead they added these terrible party games which are fun for the first five minutes you play, that is until you realize how easy they are. Create a play is an awesome feature that will add hours of fun gameplay. This feature really made me realize how hard it is to make a good play. 9/10 here.

Replayabilty: Good Gameplay, Great Multi-player. If you have friends who will play this with you I give this category a 10/10, if not 8.5/10. Either way get this game! . . .
